Ranging from community advocacy for global citizenship to girlsโ€™ empowerment projects, 15 GCED initiatives have been taken by the team of 15 young leaders in their own communities in Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. APCEIU offers GCED training programmes targeting youth leaders around the globe to encourage them to achieve the SDGs through global citizenship and GCED. Since 2015, the Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED has been held every year in the Republic of Korea, inviting 50 young global leaders to take part in an intensive training programme where they share their actions, deepen their knowledge on global/local issues, enhance their motivation to take actions for a change, and establish the young leadersโ€™ network on GCED. Since 2021, it has been shifted to a comprehensive training programme composed of online training workshops, mentorship, and local project implementation. 21st Asia-Pacific Training Workshop on EIU GCED Mentorship Programme - Final Report ุณู†ุฉ ุงู„ู†ุดุฑ: 2022 ุงู„ู…ุคู„ู ุงู„ู…ุคุณุณูŠ: APCEIU This report summarizes 18 GCED projects implemented in the Asia-Pacific region by the alumni of APCEIUโ€™s 21st Asia-Pacific Training Workshop on EIU/GCED (2022).The Mentorship Programme consisted of two tracks.1) Track A: Individual Mentorship with APCEIUโ€™s expert groups (Concretizing the GCED project with guidance from mentors)2) Track B: Developing GCED Training Programme using Design Thinking Strategy with APCEIU & Habi Education LabAsia-Pacific Training Workshop on EIU/GCED (APTW) is APCEIUโ€™s flagship TOT (Training of Trainers) programme for educators and teacher trainers in the Asia-Pacific region, which benefitted more than 600 educators over the last 22 years. Since 2021, it has been shifted to a comprehensive training programme composed of online training workshops, mentorship, and local project implementation to further empower participants to bring changes in their local communities. In 2022, marking its 21st turn, APTW was virtually held from 30 May to 7 June with 52 passionate educators from 19 UNESCO member states in the Asia-Pacific region. This year with the theme of โ€˜Preparing educators for a post-pandemic world: GCED as a key to changeโ€™, the Workshop provided opportunities to explore the timely issues and pedagogies to prepare educators for the post-pandemic world. Young Okotai | Adi Meretui Tuvou Ratunabuabua ุงู„ู…ุคู„ู ุงู„ู…ุคุณุณูŠ: APCEIU Guardians of the Pacific: A Teacherโ€™s Guide to Celebrating, Preserving, and Promoting World Heritage is an APCEIU initiative dedicated to advancing Global Citizenship Education (GCED) worldwide. Anchored in the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UNESCO World Heritage, the guide places a special emphasis on the rich and diverse heritage of the Pacific region.  This Guide reflects GCEDโ€™s integrative approach, which encompasses three interconnected dimensions of learning: cognitive, socio-emotional, and behavioral. It encourages critical thinking about heritage and sustainability, fosters empathy by deepening understanding of the Pacific's unique cultural and natural environments, and inspires meaningful actions to protect and preserve local heritage.  Tailored for educators working with students in upper primary (grades 4โ€“6) and lower secondary (grades 7โ€“9), the Guide provides step-by-step instructions and practical resources for incorporating Pacific World Heritage into classroom lessons and extracurricular activities. It is a valuable tool for nurturing awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of the Pacific regionโ€™s irreplaceable heritage in schools worldwide. <Table of Contents>ForewordHow to Use This GuideSection 1. The toolkit aims to assist education stakeholders to embed GCED within policy and practice in alignment with local, regional, and international frameworks. Target users of this toolkit include policy makers, education department and ministry personnel, leaders, and educators at all levels in both formal and non-formal education sectors. The toolkit explores effective GCED including how to conceptualise and define, plan, enact and monitor implementation, and how to measure success. By guiding educators and leaders to align their enactment and monitoring efforts to international guidance, research, theory and practice, this toolkit supports a robust and evidence-informed process for enacting GCED in ways that nurture learners as proactive and empowered global citizens.Phase I Report (Link): https://www.unescoapceiu.org/post/4995Phase II Report (Link): https://www.unescoapceiu.org/post/5184 Ecocentrism and GCED : Beyond Human Rights to Natureโ€™s Rights (SangSaeng; No.63, 2024) ุณู†ุฉ ุงู„ู†ุดุฑ: 2024 ุงู„ู…ุคู„ู ุงู„ู…ุคุณุณูŠ: APCEIU In the context of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, global citizenship and sustainability are spotlighted through SDG Target 4.7, which underscores the importance of harmonising cultural and biological diversity. To address the urgent need for harmony between humanity and the nature, ecocentrism needs to be explored as a guiding principle for fostering ethical and sustainable coexistence. In this light, Issue 63 of SangSaeng delves into Ecocentrismโ€”a perspective advocating for the ethical treatment of all beings and recognising their intrinsic valueโ€”alongside Global Citizenship Education (GCED). Contents 03 Editor's Note 04 Special Column- Creating Respectful, Valued Society โ€” Strengthening Global Citizenship Education (GCED) to Combat Hate, Racism, and Discrimination Worldwide / Peter K.
