When people are able to get quality education they can break from the cycle of poverty. Education therefore helps to reduce inequalities and to reach gender equality. The findings and recommendations are drawn primarily from a series of workshops with Alberta students held during the fall of 2019. A survey of Alberta youth conducted by Leger, a literature review and interviews with Alberta teachers provided additional insights that deepened, broadened and ‘sense checked’ the workshop results.
