From insult to inclusion: Asia-Pacific report on school bullying, violence and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity سنة النشر: 2015 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO This review recognises the complexity in terminology globally, and within the region, on sex, sexuality and gender. For simplicity, ‘SOGIE-based bullying, violence and discrimination’ is used to refer to the various anifestations of violence and exclusion based on gender discrimination, gender role expectations and stereotypes, intersex prejudice, and societal expectations for heterosexual relationships. This is sometimes referred to as homophobic or transphobic bullying, violence and discrimination. This report considers violence experienced by children and young people because of actual or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, or because their bodies differ from typical definitions of male or female. The term ‘LGBTI people/youth’ is used in this report when inclusive of intersex persons, and LGBT when the situation or needs of intersex people/ youth have not been considered. Local terms and those from original studies are also included, and the glossary provides information for readers on concepts and terms in this report.

Philippine Education for All 2015 review report سنة النشر: 2015 A country's vision of inclusive growth and development entails investment in human capital, particularly through the provision of quality basic education, competitive technical vocational skills training, and relevant and responsive higher education as stated in the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016. The current administration has placed a high regard for education and has pushed for educational reforms that promote inclusive education especially for the marginalized. Education, being the priority of the government, has produced active public-private partnerhsips over the years both at the national and the school levels. The fruits of the past and the current EFA-related programs and projects resulted in increased performance of the country in most of the EFA indicators. However, at this time, which require greater efforts to accelerate and reach national EFA targets by 2015.

Since 1960s, while American civic education experienced dilemma and reform, Center for Civic Education, at the same time, has transformed from the Civic Education Committee of University of California at Los Angeles to a national Think Tank. This plays an important role in promoting policy-making of American civic education, curriculum standardization of school citizenship education, sustained development of nationwide education programs, implementation of international development strategies, and spreading of American democratic values. With the historical background of American civic education and American modern Think Tank, this paper summarizes the stages of development of the Center. This paper holds that the decisive factors of the Center’s transformation include the following points: building a bridge between “knowledge” and “power” through continuing and effective responses to the theme of civic education at ideological and strategic level, affecting decision makers by forming a Policy Advocacy Coalition with those who have common political beliefs, realizing such functions of Think Tank as setting and guiding policy agenda of civic education, providing effective products of civic education, promoting the international development of American civic education. This research contribute to promoting understanding of operating process and strategies of the Center, giving effective advice to Chinese Think Tank in cooperation with American Think Tank,enhancing Chinese Think Tank’s the sense and ability of dialogue,so as to strengthen their voices.
