What place does Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education have in realizing other development goals?These important questions were addressed by the 4th International Conference on Language and Education. The conference brought together over 300 practitioners from 30 countries, reflecting the incredible diversity of the Asia-Pacific region and clearly demonstrating the importance of Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE). This brochure summarizes some of the key messages from this landmark event. Video sketch: Global Youth Advocacy Workshop on GCED سنة النشر: 2015 المؤلف المؤسسي: APCEIU APCEIU produced a video on the Global Youth Advocacy Workshop on GCED held in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 30 March to 4 April 2015. The workshop invited 45 youth participants from 34 countries around the world, who are actively engaged with and committed to advocating and educating youth for GCED in their local contexts.This short video sketch of the workshop provides an overview of the activities carried out during the workshop and also includes the interviews of the participants, who shared their expectations, impressions, and reflections on the workshop.The workshop was co-organized by APCEIU, UN Secretary General’s Global Education First Initiative (GEFI), and the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP); and sponsored by Educate A Child and the Geum-jeong District of Busan Metropolitan City. 
[Video] Global Citizenship Education for a just, peaceful, inclusive and sustainable world: a conceptual framework and its application in the field سنة النشر: 2015 المؤلف المؤسسي: United Nations (UN) The Seminar held at UN HQs entitled, "Global Citizenship Education for a Just, Peaceful, Inclusive, and Sustainable world: A Conceptual Framework and its Application in the Field" was co-organized by the Permanent Missions of France, Nigeria, Qatar and the Republic of Korea, the United States Mission and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in support of the Secretary-General’s Global Education First Initiative (GEFI).The panel discussion was moderated by H.E. Ambassador Hahn Choong‐hee of Korea. Some of the speakers for this event included H.E. Ambassador Richard Erdman, Acting Representative to ECOSOC of the Permanent Mission of the United States of America to the United Nations; H.E. Ambassador Usman Sarki, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Nations; Yousef Laram, Deputy Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations; Mr. Francois Gave, Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations; and Christopher Castle, Chief of UNESCO’s Section of Global Citizenship Education.This event was divided into two segments. In the first, GCED was discussed at the level of concept. How can it strengthen the three pillars of the United Nations and the three pillars of sustainable development in furtherance of a just, peaceful, inclusive and sustainable world. In the second, examples from the field – the local, national and international levels – were presented and discussed as were certain opportunities going forward including the important role of media. UNESCO-HNA Partnership for Girls' & Women's Education سنة النشر: 2017 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO The UNESCO-HNA Partnership for Girls’ and Women’s Education is one component of the “Better Life, Better Future” Global Partnership for Girls’ and Women’s Education launched by UNESCO in 2011. The Global Partnership recognizes that educating girls and women can break the cycle of poverty, foster greater social justice and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
