Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) | World Bank This report aims to assess the state of GCM implementation in the region, its progress and its challenges since the first Asia-Pacific Regional Review of Implementation of the Global Compact for Migration in 2021, in which a Chair’s summary was adopted. Chapters 2 to 5 each consider clusters of GCM objectives, as presented in General Assembly resolution 73/326 and following the same groupings as in the Asia-Pacific Migration Report (APMR) 2020. These chapters open with a summary of the discussions from the first regional review of the GCM, held in 2021, drawing from the Chair’s summary. Chapter 6 provides overarching recommendations to support and accelerate GCM implementation in Asia and the Pacific. At the end of the report are annexes with information on the GCM objectives and guiding principles, references to migration in Voluntary National Reviews to the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, and GCM pledges at the level of the State or City, Municipality and Local Authority. 
Natural disaster preparedness and education for sustainable development سنة النشر: 2007 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO Bangkok Natural Disaster Preparedness and Education for Sustainable Development provides details of the development of culturally appropriate and locally relevant educational material for natural disaster preparedness that targets key stakeholder groups and integrates Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) principles and strategies. It is expected to develop and strengthen a regional network to implement and further ESD initiatives throughout the region by promoting education for natural disaster preparedness as well as ESD. This will underpin an identified key area of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015: Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters. The publication articulates the lessons learned by the four in-country project teams (i.e., the Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia and India) and two collaborating organizations (i.e., Asia/Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society) in developing materials in collaboration with community groups in the Asia-Pacific region. It provides insights into effective techniques to develop locally relevant educational materials, and highlights some of the challenges in that field. 
Strong foundations for gender equality in early childhood care and education: advocacy brief سنة النشر: 2007 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO The term Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) refers to services for children from birth to eight years of age. These include educating parents in how to care for their children and help them learn, as well as providing community-run and formal preschool programmes for pre-primary school-aged boys and girls. Given the varying needs of children from birth to eight years, educators have found it best to have different policies and strategies for children below and above three years of age. This brief focuses on the gender issues in the services provided for children who are three years of age or older in the Asia-Pacific region. Its scope is informed by UNESCO's commitment to holistic pre-primary services for this age group. The goal is to provide early childhood education that helps girls and boys succeed in primary school and in learning throughout their lives. The brief starts by looking into the growth of ECCE in the Asia-Pacific region and what is driving this growth. It explores why gender responsiveness is important in early childhood education, gives practical examples of what this looks like, and discusses the challenges of providing ECCE that equally values and benefits each girl and each boy. Incorporating education for sustainable development into world heritage education: a teacher's guide سنة النشر: 2010 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO Bangkok This publication, A Teacher’s Guide: Incorporating Education for Sustainable Development into World Heritage Education, represents the collective efforts of workshop participants to produce a practical tool for teachers to modify available curricula and incorporate ESD concepts and principles into WHE. It has taken a long time for the guide to be available in print. Nonetheless, the content of the guide remains practical and relevant in incorporating Education for Sustainable Development into World Heritage Education.
