Holocaust Memorial Days : An overview of remembrance and education in the OSCE region سنة النشر: 2015 المؤلف المؤسسي: OSCE. Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) This publication provides an overview of governmental and non-governmental practices in the OSCE area to commemorate the Holocaust. It is intended to promote remembrance and education by publicizing and facilitating the exchange of good practices. The publication shows that most OSCE governments, as well as many local and municipal authorities, schools, civil society organizations, religious groups and others, are actively involved in Holocaust commemoration activities. While many of these activities take place throughout the year, there is a particular focus on promoting Holocaust remembrance, research and education during Holocaust Memorial Days. Across the world, 27 January, the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, is devoted to educating future generations about the Holocaust. This overview provides a snapshot of the types of Holocaust education activities that have been developed to mark Holocaust Memorial Days, while also identifying where and how the Holocaust is taught in schools throughout the region. Vallaud-Belkacem le 22 janvier 2015) et européenne (déclaration de Paris du 17 mars 2015 des ministres européens de l’éducation de l’Union européenne portant sur la promotion de l’éducation à la citoyenneté et aux valeurs communes de liberté, de tolérance et de non-discrimination). Au sein du système éducatif français, de nouvelles prescriptions curriculaires sont apparues : le domaine 3 du socle commun de connaissances, de compétences et de culture entré en vigueur en septembre 2016 porte sur la formation de la personne et du citoyen, l’enseignement moral et civique a été mis en place du cours préparatoire au baccalauréat, un parcours citoyen a été créé.

Literacy and the Promotion of Citizenship: discourses and effective practices سنة النشر: 2008 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning and its partners, the Agence Nationale de Lutte Contre L’Illettrisme (ANLCI) and the UNESCO French National Commission, organized a Regional Meeting on “Literacy and the Promotion of Citizenship: The Challenge of Learning” from 2-5 April 2005 in Lyon, France. Participants from 38 countries of what UNESCO considers to be the European Region (i.e. Europe, Canada, Israel and the United States of America) reviewed pertinent policies and shared good practices.By focusing on the theme of citizenship, the meeting sought to establish a link between literacy and the empowerment of citizens. This publication brings together the main presentations from that meeting, and as such documents the diversity of literacy-related thinking and practice in the region.

This 2-week intensive workshop provided participants opportunities to better understand the concept and principles of GCED, while engaging in meaningful dialogues and sharing experiences with educators from different countries, cultures, and contexts, and to develop their own action plans.

The main objective of the ESD Programme today is to provide a regional platform for dialogue, exchange of knowledge, experience, innovations and best educational practices/tools implemented at local/national/regional levels, and support CAREC's inter-program activities on education and capacity building, as well as intersectoral, interagency, interregional cooperation on ESD in the region with the involvement of all stakeholders and international expertise.
