The State of the World’s Human Rights: April 2024 Year of publication: 2024 Corporate author: Amnesty International Le Rapport d’Amnesty International décrit la situation des droits humains dans le monde en 2023 dans 155 pays différents. Les équipes de journalistes et d’enquêteurs de l'ONG peignent un portrait plutôt sombre, avec notamment un recul du droit des femmes, les conséquences dramatiques du réchauffement climatique sur les populations les plus vulnérables, le recul du droit de manifester, ou encore la prolifération de la haine en ligne dans le monde. La multiplication des conflits armés et le choc du 7 octobre ont également eu des conséquences dramatiques. Cependant, quelques bonnes nouvelles sont aussi à noter, avec des avancées pour les droits des personnes LGBTI par exemple. Amnesty International Report describes the human rights situation worldwide in 2023 in 155 different countries. TheNGO's teams of journalists and investigators paint a rather gloomy picture, with, in particular, a decline in women's rights, the dramatic consequences of global warming on the most vulnerable populations, a decline in the right to protest, and the proliferation of online hate around the world. The multiplication of armed conflicts and the shock of October 7 have also had dramatic consequences. However, there is some good news too, with advances in LGBTI rights for example.

Amnesty International Report 2021/22: The State of the World’s Human Rights Year of publication: 2022 Corporate author: Amnesty International The Amnesty International Report 2021/22 highlights the human rights situation in 154 countries in 2021. It presents Amnesty International’s documented concerns and recommendations for governments and others. From a human rights perspective, 2021 was largely a story of betrayal and hypocrisy in the corridors of power. But hopes for a better post-pandemic world were kept alive by courageous individuals, social movements and civil society organizations. Their efforts and limited hard-won victories should prompt governments to live up to their promises.

The Write for Rights: A Human Rights Education Pack Year of publication: 2015 Corporate author: Amnesty International This education pack contains five activities on human rights for young people. It can be used as an introduction to human rights, to global solidarity, to campaigning and activism, and to the wider work of Amnesty International. The activities provide a broad perspective on these issues and others.They are useful in opening young people’s minds to global concerns and involving them in actions which can have a real impact on people’s lives.The activities can be run at any time, but will be most effective either before or during the time of Amnesty International’s ‘Write for Rights’ campaign, which this year runs from 4 to 17 December. By working on these cases and taking part in the campaign, young people will know that they are part of a massive global movement of people. They – and you – can bring about a real improvement in the lives of the people featured in the following pages.

I Don’t Want… War! Year of publication: 2024 Corporate author: Amnesty International | Entreculturas | Mundo Cooperante | Save the Children On the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, which is commemorated on October 11, the organizations Amnesty International, Entreculturas, Mundo Cooperante and Save the Children, under the framework of the joint alliance NO QUIERO, denounce the serious consequences that armed conflicts have on girls and their integral development. Today, more than ever, it is urgent to address the effects of wars that prevent millions of girls from living a future free of violence, such as child and forced marriage or sexual violence.

Write for Rights 2018: A Human Rights Education Toolkit for Educators Year of publication: 2018 Corporate author: Amnesty International The annual Write for Rights (W4R) campaign is one of Amnesty International’s biggest human rights events. In 2018 the campaign focuses on women human rights defenders who have suffered human rights violations or are at great risk because of the positions they have taken on certain human rights issues.This Human Rights Education toolkit was created to support teachers’ participation with their students in the W4R campaign. It provides a broad perspective on human rights issues and offers the opportunity to open young people’s minds to global concerns. By learning about and writing persuasive letters to help end human rights violations and achieve justice, teachers and students contribute to the international human rights movement and see for themselves how words can make a difference in the world.This toolkit was created for students aged 13 and above and is primarily designed for use in a school setting: both inside the classroom as well as in clubs or school-wide events. Activities can also be adapted for use in other, non-formal education contexts such as youth groups and community settings. The toolkit contains general activities on human rights and highlights six women human rights defenders from the W4R campaign who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of human rights around the world.
