The Extent of Educational Readiness of Using Thinking Skills Strategy among Teachers at the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia: A Field Study (Arts for Educational & Psychological Studies; Vol.5, No.3) Year of publication: 2023 Author: Areej Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ansari Corporate author: Dhamar University This study aimed to identify educational readiness and willingness of teachers affiliated to the Ministry of Education to use critical thinking in their teaching, in Saudi Arabia. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive survey method was adopted, and a questionnaire was used to collect data from the study sample which consisted of (733) male and female teachers, randomly selected from education directorates of Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran. The questionnaire included three main dimensions;and after testing its validity, and reliability, it was administered to the sample. The study results showed that teachersโ educational readiness scored a high degree of awareness that would allow achieving the goal of teaching by using critical thinking in schools as a teaching strategy approved by the Ministry of Education. The teachers also showed their understanding of the characteristics, skills and educational effects of the application of the critical thinking strategy in schools. The study recommended conducting future studies on the challenges and advantages of applying the critical thinking strategy from the perspective of students and teachers.Keywords: Extent of educational readiness, Critical thinking, Educational effects, School teachers.
Effectiveness of Integrating Reciprocal Teaching and Science Stations Strategies in Teaching Science on Developing Some Science Hand Skills among Eighth Grade Female Pupils in Thamar City (Arts for Educational & Psychological Studies; Vol.5, No.3) Year of publication: 2023 Author: Nabeeha Saleh Abdulmoghni, Mohammed Ebrahim Al-San Corporate author: Dhamar University This study aimed to identify the impact of integrating reciprocal teaching and science stations strategies in teaching science on developing some science hand skills among Eighth-grade female pupils in Thamar City. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive analytical method and the quasi-experimental design of the two groups, with pre and post measurements, were used. The data collection tools included: a checklist for analyzing Unit 7 (Nutrition in Living Organisms), and unit 8 (The Relationship of what you eat to your Health) in the respective textbook; a checklist of science hand skills to be developed; and an observation sheet of the skills, covering three main skills: (carrying out scientific experiments correctly- designing and drawing shapes and illustrations correctly- following safety rules in the laboratory). After testing the validity and reliability of the tools, and administering them to the study sample, a number of results were revealed. More specifically, there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the pupils of the experimental and control groups in the science hand skills, attributed to the experimental group due to the integrative approach.
Challenges of Distance Education Facing Students with Learning Disabilities from the Teachersโ Perspective (Arts for Psychological & Educational Studies; vol. 1, no. 14) Year of publication: 2022 Author: Abd al-Rahman al-Matroudi | Abdullah Al-Rubaian Corporate author: Dhamar University The current study aimed to identify the challenges of distance education facing students with learning disabilities in the primary schools of Al Qassim region from the teachersโ perspective. The study sample consisted of 92 teachers of learning disabilities (58) males and (34) females. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive survey method was used by designing a questionnaire to collect the study data. The study revealed many interesting findings, the most important of which is teachersโ insufficient knowledge of the necessary curriculum modifications needed to meet the needs of their students during distance education. The results also revealed statistically significant differences in teachersโ responses to distance education challenges facing students with learning disabilities in the primary schools due to gender differences, in favor of males. Based on these results, it was recommended that effective educational alternatives be provided by educational institutions in the case of communication problems or internet outages. These alternatives would enable students with learning disabilities to continue learning and get the fullest benefits.
Challenges Facing Inclusion Programs Hearing Impairment Students from the Perspective of Teachers in Hail City (Literature for Psychological and Educational Studies; vol.6, no.1) Year of publication: 2024 Author: Theeb Turayhib Aljbreen Almutairi | Nouf Ayed Huders Alenezi Corporate author: Dhamar University The study aimed to identify the challenges facing students with hearing impairment in inclusion programs in Hail city from teachers' perspectives, highlighting the differences between the responses of teachers of students with hearing impairment and those of general education regarding such challenges attributed to gender, experience, study major and level variables. The descriptive analytical approach was adopted. The study sample iconsisted of (211) teachers, and a questionnaire was used for data collection. The results showed that there were challenges facing students with hearing imapirment in the inclusion programs from the point of view of teachers. The challenges were ordered as follows: educational challenges facing students with hearing impairment, challenges related to the acceptance of sound hearing students to those with hearing imparment, challenges pertaining to coopertation between general education teachers and those of hearing imapired students, and challenges related to school adminstration. It was also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the responses of teachers of hearing imapaired students and general education instructors on the challenges attributed to gender, experience, major and study level variables.
A Suggested Proposal for the Role of Universities in Developing Studentsโ Awareness of Digital Citizenship in Light of Requirements and Challenges of the Digital Age: A Case Study of Bisha University (Arts for Educational & Psychological Studies; vol.14, no.1) Year of publication: 2022 Author: Sheikha Abdullah Al-Briki Balabied Corporate author: Dhamar University The study aimed to measure the degree of studentsโ awareness of the digital citizenship at the University of Bisha, and to develop a proposed scenario in the light of the results of the study, which included a framework for activating the role of universities in developing their students' awareness of digital citizenship to meet the requirements and challenges of the digital age. The analytical descriptive method was used by conducting an exploratory study and designing a questionnaire to measure the degree of students' awareness of digital citizenship. The most prominent results were that the degree of students' awareness of digital citizenship was "very high" on the total digital citizenship awareness scale. There were no statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females, nor between the average degrees of students of theoretical and practical colleges on the total digital citizenship awareness scale.
