2022 SSAEM Conference: Final Report Year of publication: 2023 Corporate author: APCEIU | Korea R. Ministry of Education The 2022 SSAEM (Sharing Stories of Asia-Pacific Education Movements) Conference is a space for examining and sharing the educational outcomes of the participating teachers and schools of the programme. This conference, which has been held annually since 2014, aims to provide an excellent opportunity for the participants and stakeholders to showcase the impact of the programme and to explore methods for strengthening cooperation for further development of the programme. The main programme included the panel discussion of the Ministry representatives of the 8 countries, the presentation of 2022 programme participants, etc.   Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education 2022: Final Report Year of publication: 2022 Corporate author: APCEIU | Korea R. Ministry of Education The Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education (APTE), which has been in place since 2012, marks its 10th anniversary this year. APTE had been conducted according to the existing programme execution system and flow chart until 2019. However, the Office of International Teacher Exchange (ITE) focused on online exchange due to the pandemic crisis. This year’s APTE programme followed last year’s online formula and presented a new direction for utilization even post-pandemic. These efforts are expected to enhance global educational competencies for a more sustainable Global Citizenship Education. The slides begin by mentioning the psychological underpinnings of educational and simulation games. Then the objectives of the educational games are detailed. Ministry of Education | APCEIU IntroductionLaunched in 2012, the Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education (APTE) marks its 10th anniversary this year with a solid record of steady growth. The Programme started with only two countries— Mongolia and the Philippines—and has since added five more: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, and Thailand. Even the COVID-19 pandemic has not impeded the APTE’s development and instead provided the basis for an online form of educational exchange. Over the past decade, more than 2,000 teachers in Korea and the partner countries participated in the APTE and guided numerous students. This was thanks to the unwavering support of teachers who sought dissemination of the value of Global Citizenship Education, a key element of UNESCO’s educational agenda. We express our deepest appreciation to the teachers and students who took part in the APTE. Human ties going beyond national borders are rare and precious. This project has tied many people around the world, with the teachers and students who participated continuing efforts to further consolidate their ties. To assist and facilitate teachers’ efforts toward follow-up activities after participating in the APTE, the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) under the auspices of UNESCO has released these guidelines on follow-up activities. Encouraging all teachers who are determined to continue Global Citizenship Education in the wider world, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the writers and researchers for their dedication toward the publication of this book. Ministry of Education | APCEIU Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education (APTE) is a bilateral teacher exchange programme between the Republic of Korea and Asia-Pacific partner countries, hosted by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and implemented by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding under the auspices of UNESCO (APCEIU) in collaboration with the Ministries of Education of the partner countries. Ministry of Education This project aims to enhance the intercultural understanding of Korean teachers and students by utilizing global education and Global Citizenship Education(GCED) materials produced by partner countries’ teachers. Simultaneously, for the teachers from partner countries, the project is expected to enhance their educational competency, global competency, and online teaching competency required in this pandemic era. The project also aims to establish an online teaching and learning model by using online educational materials in Korean classrooms and accumulate and expand educational achievements in response to the spread of online exchange.  Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education: 2020 Final Report Year of publication: 2020 Corporate author: APCEIU | Korea R. Ministry of Education The Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education (APTE) has been conducted since 2012 and marks its 9th anniversary this year. This report looks back over the past 9 years and the achievements of the programme for 2020.This year, due to the pandemic effects, the Office of International Teacher Exchange (ITE) focused on expanding the foundation for online exchange and developing content to strengthen the sustainability of educational exchange and ensure the internal stability of the programme.  Responding to Covid-19: Online Classes in Korea - A Challenge Toward the Future of Education Year of publication: 2020 Corporate author: Korea R. Ministry of Education Korea is effectively responding to the outbreak of COVID-19 by adopting a whole-of-government approach, under the leadership of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to prevent and contain the pandemic with the principle of “openness, transparency and democratic process.” The nationwide introduction of the online classes to respond to COVID-19 was a huge challenge and a path that we have never trodden before. The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea introduced Korean education with the world in response to COVID-19 and shared experiences and challenges of distance learning and online education. COVID-19 is a universal challenge which requires joint response, and the global community should be committed to strong solidarity and close cooperation to overcome this crisis and take a leap forward to a brighter future.
