Around the globe, women in the labour force earn less than men, spend more time undertaking unpaid child- and elder-care jobs, hold fewer senior positions, participate less in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, and tend to hold more precarious jobs overall. In harnessing AI, governments, institutions and companies must narrow gender gaps rather than perpetuate or exacerbate them. This report, by the IDB, OECD and UNESCO, outlines current knowledge of the impact that AI systems have on women’s opportunities for work, and their position, treatment and status in the workforce. It does so by exploring how AI is used within and outside the workplace, and how it could be used in the future. It looks at the potential impact of new and emerging AI technologies on the skills that employers will require, on how women look for and are hired for jobs, and on how jobs are structured through automated monitoring and oversight. The report maps the opportunities and challenges that AI presents for the working lives of women and highlights the complexities that varying national and regional contexts present for understanding the impact of AI on the work of women. The report also notes that current research does not offer a complete or definite picture of how AI impacts the working lives of women and calls for further research and analysis in this area. Alrededor del mundo, en la fuerza laboral las mujeres ganan menos que los varones, dedican más tiempo a trabajo no remunerado cuidando a niños y ancianos, tienen menos puestos sénior, participan menos en los campos de ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (STEM por sus siglas en inglés) y tienden, en general, a tener trabajos más precarios. Al utilizar la IA, los gobiernos, las instituciones y las empresas deberán achicar las brechas de género y no perpetuarlas o exacerbarlas. Este informe del BID, la OCDE y UNESCO resume el conocimiento actual respecto del impacto que tienen los sistemas de IA sobre las oportunidades laborales de las mujeres, y sobre su posición, tratamiento y estatus en la fuerza laboral. En esta línea, el informe explora cómo se usa la IA dentro y fuera del ámbito laboral y cómo podría ser usada en el futuro. Mira el impacto potencial de las tecnologías de IA nuevas y emergentes sobre las habilidades que requerirán los empleadores, la manera en que las mujeres buscan empleo y son contratadas y cómo se estructuran los empleos a través del monitoreo y la supervisión automatizados. El informe presenta un mapa de las oportunidades y los desafíos que presenta la IA para la vida laboral de las mujeres y pone de manifiesto las complejidades que los diversos contextos nacionales y regionales presentan para comprender el impacto de la IA sobre el trabajo de las mujeres. El informe también toma nota de que la investigación actual no ofrece una mirada completa o definitiva respecto de cómo impacta la IA sobre la vida laboral de las mujeres e insta a la realización de más investigación y análisis en este campo.

How does it work? And more importantly, how does it find its way into the judicial context? Technologies such as AI have been around for decades, but only recently have they begun to be used in a variety of justice and law enforcement settings. While AI has immense potential for the justice system, helping judges make better decisions, improving efficiency, increasing access, and helping to detect and prevent crime, there are also some important issues that justice stakeholders should consider as they prepare for a future in which AI is increasingly used in justice systems.In 2022, UNESCO launched two needs assessments. First, through UNESCO’s Artificial Intelligence Needs Assessment Survey in Africa, 90% of the 32 countries surveyed requested capacity building support for the Judiciary on AI. At the same time, a second global survey of judicial actors in 100 countries underlined the need for better understanding the use of AI in the administration of justice and its wider legal implications on societies.The “Global Toolkit on AI and the Rule of Law” for the Judiciary responds to these needs and provides judicial actors (judges, prosecutors, state attorneys, public lawyers, law universities and judicial training institutions) with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand the benefits and risks of AI in their work. The toolkit will assist judicial actors in mitigating the potential human rights risks of AI by providing guidance on the relevant international human rights laws, principles, rules and emerging jurisprudence that underpin the ethical use of AI. Y lo que es más importante, ¿cómo se abre camino en el contexto judicial? Tecnologías como la IA han existido durante décadas, pero solo recientemente han comenzado a usarse en una variedad de entornos de justicia y aplicación de la ley. Si bien la IA tiene un inmenso potencial para el sistema de justicia, ya que ayuda a los jueces a tomar mejores decisiones, mejora la eficiencia, aumenta el acceso y ayuda a detectar y prevenir el delito, también existen algunas cuestiones importantes que las partes interesadas en la justicia deben tener en cuenta mientras se preparan para un futuro en el que la IA se utiliza cada vez más en los sistemas de justicia. En 2022, la UNESCO lanzó dos evaluaciones de necesidades. En primer lugar, a través de la Encuesta de evaluación de necesidades de inteligencia artificial de la UNESCO en África, el 90 % de los 32 países encuestados solicitaron apoyo para el desarrollo de capacidades para el poder judicial en materia de IA. Comment ça marche ? Et plus important encore, comment trouve-t-elle sa place dans un contexte judiciaire ? Des technologies telles que l'IA existent depuis des décennies, mais elles n’ont commencé à être utilisées dans divers cadres judiciaires et exécutifs que très récemment. Bien que l'IA ait un immense potentiel pour le système judiciaire, pour aider les juges à prendre de meilleures décisions, améliorer leur efficacité, l'accessiblité, et pour aider à détecter et à prévenir la criminalité, elle soulève également des questions importantes parmi les acteurs judiciaires, alors qu'ils se préparent à un avenir où l'IA sera de plus en plus utilisée dans les systèmes judiciaires. En 2022, l'UNESCO a lancé deux évaluations des besoins. Tout d'abord, dans le cadre de l'enquête de l'UNESCO sur l'évaluation des besoins en matière d'intelligence artificielle en Afrique, 90 % des 32 pays interrogés ont demandé un soutien au renforcement des capacités du pouvoir judiciaire en matière d'IA. Dans le même temps, une deuxième enquête mondiale sur les acteurs judiciaires dans 100 pays a mis en avant la nécessité de mieux comprendre l'utilisation de l'IA dans l'administration de la justice et ses implications juridiques plus larges sur les sociétés. Cet ouvrage, « Manuel de formation mondial : l'IA et l'état de droit pour le pouvoir judiciaire », répond à ces besoins et fournit aux acteurs judiciaires (juges, procureurs, avocats, juristes, facultés de droit et établissements de formation judiciaire) les connaissances et les outils nécessaires pour comprendre les avantages et les risques de l'IA dans leur travail. Ce manuel de formation aidera les acteurs judiciaires à atténuer les risques potentiels de l'IA pour les droits humains en fournissant des conseils sur les lois, principes, règles et jurisprudences internationales pertinents en matière de droits humains qui sous-tendent l'utilisation éthique de l'IA.

Ministry of Education This document is an input that, in the form of a guide of pedagogical guidelines and teaching proposals, seeks to support the development of the objectives of the New Citizenship, Culture of Peace and Democratic Integration Program, promoted by the Ministry of Education of Argentina and the Ministry of Education of Chile. The first section corresponds to an introductory section, which communicates the principles on which the program is based. The second section is made up of the axes and chapters that structure the guide. Each axis (four in total) is subdivided into two chapters, articulated around the topic that the axis addresses and which is briefly presented at the beginning of it.
