The State of the Worldโs Human Rights: April 2024 Year of publication: 2024 Corporate author: Amnesty International Le Rapport dโAmnesty International dรฉcrit la situation des droits humains dans le monde en 2023 dans 155 pays diffรฉrents. Les รฉquipes de journalistes et dโenquรชteurs de l'ONG peignent un portrait plutรดt sombre, avec notamment un recul du droit des femmes, les consรฉquences dramatiques du rรฉchauffement climatique sur les populations les plus vulnรฉrables, le recul du droit de manifester, ou encore la prolifรฉration de la haine en ligne dans le monde. La multiplication des conflits armรฉs et le choc du 7 octobre ont รฉgalement eu des consรฉquences dramatiques. Cependant, quelques bonnes nouvelles sont aussi ร noter, avec des avancรฉes pour les droits des personnes LGBTI par exemple. Amnesty International Report describes the human rights situation worldwide in 2023 in 155 different countries. TheNGO's teams of journalists and investigators paint a rather gloomy picture, with, in particular, a decline in women's rights, the dramatic consequences of global warming on the most vulnerable populations, a decline in the right to protest, and the proliferation of online hate around the world. The multiplication of armed conflicts and the shock of October 7 have also had dramatic consequences. However, there is some good news too, with advances in LGBTI rights for example.

Its staff has often witnessed various types of crimes and abuses. In this podcast, we will take a closer look at one of these crises: the siege of the city of Srebrenica and the massacre that followed the fall of this city during the Bosnian War in the 1990s.

Disaster reduction and human security: education for sustainable development; case studies and best practices Year of publication: 2005 Corporate author: Kyoto University. Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies Disaster reduction, human security, education and sustainable development are the four key issues, which are considered in the current compilation. A quick glance of the case studies will tell us the varieties of focus areas. WCD R Thematic Cluster 3 (Knowledge, Innovation and Education: To Build a Culture of Safety and Resilience) identifies four themes under the cluster: Education, Research, Public Awareness and Community Empowerment. A majority of case studies focus on community activities, especially on ho w the communities were able to cope with different types of disasters in different socio-economic context. These are all learning processes for the community, especially to enhance the resilience among its members. A number of these studies include public awareness, training and capacity building programmes. Quite a number of case studies focus on professional expertise, like microzonation, mapping, planning, hazard assessment, and development of risk reduction tools. These are all related to education and research. There are some case studies, which focus on formal education at school and colleges, but are linked to practical learning exercise. Distance learning has appeared as one of the possible media to reach the global mass, and to reach the farthest and the most needy group. The link between on-site testing and on-line learning has been emphasized by several case studies.
