Study on the Cultivation of Students’ Digital Citizenship Literacy in the Political Ideology Course (Creative Education Studies; Vol.11, No.3) Year of publication: 2023 Author: 邹云霞 | 杨又 Human society is entering the digital age. The new generation of information technology has changed the way people exist, making them have a new form of digital citizens. While digital sur-vival brings convenience to youth students, it also brings about social problems such as cyberbullying, Internet addiction, online fraud and so on. Therefore, this paper first defines the concept of digital citizenship, then discusses the necessity of cultivating digital citizenship, and finally gives the corresponding measures to bring enlightenment for the cultivation of digital citizenship in the new era. 
Bridging the Gap: Holistic Education Policy to Foster Opportunities for Girls in Rural Pakistan Year of publication: 2023 Author: Hina Saleem Corporate author: Center for Universal Education at Brookings Seven out of ten girls in rural Sindh are excluded from schooling. This happens for a myriad of reasons and occurs both in the presence and absence of operational school buildings. When schools are present, the challenges that children—especially girls—face due to their economic and social context often go unaddressed; children who are able to enroll in school often find their learning affected by classroom design and practices and experiences that mirror the exclusion they experience outside of school. At the broader level, this exclusion is reflected in limited representation of the needs and aspirations of sizable rural populations in Pakistan’s formal education system and the pathways beyond it. This policy brief presents findings from on-the-ground research in rural settlements in Sindh province that explores the disparities between boys and girls in enrollment and continuation of schooling in addition to overall inadequate education outcomes. It also provides policy recommendations to support all children and particularly girls in meeting their education needs and aspirations. Education policy must respond to these challenges of unmet education needs and aspirations by taking a holistic, welfare-based approach that supports children to overcome the effects of exclusionary conditions to meet their education needs. However, the benefits of such an approach can only be realized if teaching practices and learning experiences are contextualized, build a connection with local knowledge, question root causes of exclusion and support and prepare all children in negotiating pathways beyond education. 
Asia-Pacific Early Childhood Care and Education: Teacher Training Handbook for Social and Emotional Learning Year of publication: 2022 Author: Monisha Singh Diwan Corporate author: UNESCO Bangkok The handbook was initiated by UNESCO Bangkok. This effort is in response to the widespread recognition of social and emotional learning (SEL)’s importance and the lack of robust and more contextually relevant and culturally sensitive SEL programme for teachers to effectively deliver SEL. With this, UNESCO Bangkok aims to support the Member States in the Asia-Pacific to equip their early childhood care and education (ECCE) teachers with SEL knowledge and skills, and to ensure that children develop pro-social and emotional skills and positive relationships within the early stage of the learning process, particularly in enhancing (1) knowledge about student SEL and classroom management; (2) strategies to apply in the classroom; and (3) teachers’ own social and emotional competence.The handbook provides the context and foundation for the programme. The background of the initiative that led to the regional handbook and training modules (Chapter 1), the introduction of the purpose and use of the handbook (Chapter 2), an overview of ECCE (Chapter 3), SEL (Chapter 4), teachers’ professional education, learning and development (Chapter 5), and APETT-SEL conceptual framework followed by an overview of the four themes and ten modules (Chapter 6). The Glossary provides definitions and/or explanations of key educational terminologies used to provide greater clarity. The ten comprehensive training modules aim to build capacity of pre-primary and early primary teachers, both pre- and in-service, across four themes. The first theme focuses on teachers and their well-being; the second equips teachers in building pro-social and responsive classrooms; the third focuses on diversity, inclusion, cultural responsiveness, and equity; and the fourth focuses on SEL measurement and assessment. Each training module consists of scripted sessions and activities, as well as reference materials included as handouts and additional readings.

The Situation of the Russian Speaking Population in Central Asia: To the Historiography of the Problem (Post-Soviet Continent; Year of publication: 2023 Author: Марина Авимская Corporate author: ИНСТИТУТ СТРАН СНГ At present, the position of the Russian and Russian-speaking population is one of the most important problems in the domestic and foreign policy of the states - the former Soviet republics of the USSR and a significant aspect of their relationship with the Russian Federation. In this regard, this problem has been attracting increased attention of researchers (primarily historians and political scientists) from Russia and neighboring countries for quite a long time. The article deals with the issue of the situation of the Russian and Russian-speaking population in the post-Soviet period and how it is covered in modern Russian scientific literature over the past five years (2017–2021), using the example of the countries of Central Asia. 
The SCO’s Role in Countering Terrorism in Central Asian Countries (Post-Soviet Studies; Vol.5, No.8) Year of publication: 2022 Author: А. К. Румянцева | К. Х. Рахимов Terrorism is one of the main threats to the security of humanity in the modern world. The intensification of the activities of the terrorist underground in the countries of Central Asia and the deterioration of the situation in Afghanistan raises the problem of terrorism to a new level and calls on the countries of this region to assist international and regional organizations in resolving this issue. Among the most actively developing interregional organizations in the Central Asian region is the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The central goals of the SCO are directly related to countering and combating the "three evils": terrorism, separatism and extremism. The relevance of this paper relates to the growth of radicalization in the Central Asian region, as a result of which the proposed article analyzes the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in countering terrorism in the countries of the Central Asian region, examines the history of the origin and emergence of terrorism in this region, reveals in detail the key areas of the organization. In addition, the main adopted international legal documents on combating terrorism have been studied, on the basis of which the main stages of the development of cooperation between the member states of the organization for the implementation of anti-terrorist activities of the SCO are observed. Particularly successful cooperation in the fight against terrorism is noted in the conduct of joint anti-terrorist exercises within the framework of the organization's activities, and the activities of the SCO RATS are also considered in detail. The purpose of the article is to assess the potential of the SCO in terms of responding to new security challenges of the member states, primarily in the Central Asian region. To achieve the goal, the following research methods were used: theoretical and methodological analysis, descriptive method, and content analysis. The authors come to the conclusion that at the present stage the SCO is the most influential integration in the space of Central Asia. The organization's anti-terrorist activities show that this field is one of the most successful within the organization's work.

The Right to Education: What’s at Stake in Afghanistan?; A 20-Year Review Year of publication: 2021 Corporate author: UNESCO This report takes stock of the achievements in education made by Afghanistan over the past 20 years and sets out immediate action to safeguard the right to education for all learners following deep political change in the country in 2021.Although Afghanistan lags far behind countries across South and West Asia on most development indicators, it has made impressive progress in education over two decades. Enrolment has increased ten-fold, with substantial gains for girls and female literacy. Female teachers have been hired. Steady efforts have been made to expand the school network across the country.The country has ratified key international normative instruments relating to the right to education; enshrined this right in the Constitution and adopted a wide range of policy measures to increase access, improve education quality and reduce gender, socio- economic and rural/urban disparities.But the challenges remain colossal, with half the primary school-aged children not enrolled in school and very low learning outcomes. The country is highly dependent on external aid to sustain its education system. It needs to uphold state obligations on the right to education without any discrimination and continue removing barriers that impede progress towards the Sustainable Development Goal on education to build the country’s future.
