Indicators: The Need and Challenges of Tracking Implementation of Target 4.7 Year of publication: 2021 Author: Johanna Helin Corporate author: Bridge 47 This paper investigates the existing and proposed indicators and monitoring frame- works for 4.7. Examining efforts at national, regional, and global levels will identify the main challenges in measurement initiatives. The paper will start by looking at the context of SDGs and the special character of Target 4.7. Thereafter, it will discuss the process and limitations of defining the indicators at the global level. It will also review regional developments, tools, and ideas for national and local level assessment frameworks in Asia-Pacific and Europe. The paper ends with conclusions and policy recommendations.

In November 2019, Bridge 47 organised an event called Envision 4.7, which brought together civil society organisations, national governments, MEPs, European and global organisations, and together wrote a Roadmap for SDG Target 4.7 for Europe.Focusing on the key themes of this Envision 4.7 Roadmap and drawing on the Envision 4.7. policy papers as key references, this paper focuses on providing a global overview and identification of the types of resources re- quired to achieve this target.\

Global Citizenship Education (GCE) for Unknown Futures: Mapping Past and Current Experiments and Debates Year of publication: 2019 Author: Rene Suša Corporate author: Bridge 47 This Bridge 47-commissioned report by Rene Suša provides a thorough overview of current debates and opportunities within the field of Global Citizenship Education (GCE). The report addresses the following questions: 1) What is the benefit of GCE to our societies? 2) What is the impact of GCE to our societies? and 3) Why do we believe that GCE is the answer to global challenges?The publication also maps GCE-related or GCE-inspired initiatives, projects and partnerships, and offers key findings from a comparative study of these cases. Additionally, Susa also further builds on the recent work of Vanessa Andreotti by elucidating her taxonomy of soft, radical and beyond reform spaces for GCE, as well as relates these to current (international) policy developments in the field. 
ENVISION 4.7: ROADMAP IN SUPPORT OF SDG TARGET 4.7 Year of publication: 2019 Corporate author: Bridge 47 In November 2019, 200 policy makers, civil society members and researchers from all over the world got together in Helsinki to make a roadmap for the future implementation of SDG Target 4.7 in Europe. The participants of the Envision 4.7 event held in Helsinki, 6th and 7th November 2019, made this document to contribute to the achievement of Target 4.7 of the universal Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This document was shaped and influenced by the expertise and insight of everyone who came to the conference. Bridge 47 is calling on this collective knowledge and community of experts to continue moving these recommendations forward as we all aim to achieve SDG Target 4.7 and use transformative education as a mechanism for achieving all of the Sustainable Development Goals. 
Active citizenship and late-life learning in the community Year of publication: 2013 Author: Carmel Borg, Marvin Formosa This paper problematises dominant notions of active citizenship in later life and provides a framework for an alternative view of active citizenship. It also illustrates how adult educators can facilitate learning processes where late-life learners, reflect on the impact of the neoliberal value system and on the consequences of its hegemonic practices on personal and community life, before engaging in transformative action.

Ministry for Foreign Affairs Global event Envision 4.7 was held in Helsinki in November 2019. The event brought around 200 people together to discuss ways to take the SDG Target 4.7 forward. In this report you can find summaries of all the speeches, panel discussions, workshops and working groups that were held at the event, together with a summary of discussions around all the different topics. It's about us!: reflections on education for active citizenship within the European Union Year of publication: 2013 Author: Milana Marcella, Tarozzi Massimiliano The article is structured in three main parts. Grounded in the scientific literature, the authors unpack the notion of citizenship as key educational concept based on multiple and diverse identities. Then, they outline the major steps undertaken at EU level to formalise and expand citizenship rights and to endorse citizenship education across the Union’s nationals, by showing that citizenship education is promoted more as a strategy for legitimising the Union rather than a participatory practice aimed at fostering democratic processes within Europe. Finally, they discuss the implications of these policy advancements from a social justice perspective, by advancing a critique of their political assumptions and, to some extent, the pedagogical approach they suggest.
