Coming from Africa and Asia, 25 educators have written stories about their girls during the programme to share with readers all over the world. As the title implies, these series are about real people living on the fringes of society especially girls in their neighbor having challenges on their way to access quality education. 
EIU Best Practices Series No. 37: Early Childhood and Elementary Education for Indigenous Learners Programme Year of publication: 2014 Author: Bricks Sabella Sintaon Corporate author: APCEIU This monograph is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No.37 introduces the Early Childhood and Elementary Education (ECEE) for Indigenous Learners Programme initiated in the Philippines. The indigenous peoples (IP) reside in the mountainous regions, away from basic social services and struggling with poverty, malnutrition, and lack of proper education. The aim of ECEE is to facilitate access to quality and culturally-relevant early childhood and elementary education for the Higaonon indigenous children. To achieve this, activities such as curriculum indigenization and teacher training are provided in collaboration with the community members. As the program creates learning process for all through openness, sharing, and collaboration, this is an exemplary case of EIU/GCED pedagogical approach. 
EIU Best Practices Series No. 27: Integrating EIU with the Curriculum for Gross National Happiness Education in Bhutan Year of publication: 2012 Author: Udhim Subba Corporate author: APCEIU This monograph is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No.27 introduces Bhutan’s Yebilaptsa Middle Secondary School, in its effort to promote values of EIU as a complementary component of the Gross National Happiness Education efforts. Activities such as UNESCO club community activities, environmental learning, EIU cultural night, international exchange altogether exemplify effective ways to integrate EIU practices in the curriculum and extracurricular programs of schools. 
EIU Best Practices Series No.40: Global Citizenship Education Capacity Building Initiative: Misitry of Education, Kiribati Year of publication: 2015 Corporate author: APCEIU This monograph is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No. 40 introduces a successful hosting of workshop on GCED in Kiribati. Considered the first of its kind in Kiribati, the workshop brought together education officers and teachers to learn about emerging concept of GCED and EIU and means for implementation. The exemplary workshop involving fieldtrips and seminars has created a wave of learning opportunities for key stakeholders at all levels, paving way to put GCED into practice.

The Series No.39 introduces the Training of Trainers (TOT) program, a workshop for teachers to better incorporate GCED/EIU concepts into respective curriculum and school environment. Upon participating in the APCEIU training workshop, Mr. Yeshi Dorji from Dungtse Middle Secondary School in Bhutan sought to create a forum in which teachers and school officials can learn to incorporate GCED. Such exemplary initiative not only enhances capacity building of educators in the school, but also has potential to have larger impact in the local and regional communities.

The Series No.4 is an experimental research conducted by the Information and Research Center to promote culture of peace and teaching and learning outcomes that support positive development of school environment. Three pilot schools in Kazakhstan were analyzed upon implementation of teacher training workshops, instructional materials, and programs in civic and human rights education. 
EIU Best Practices Series No. 6: Practical Research on Current Issues: Studies on Global Perspectives in Schools in Japan Year of publication: 2007 Corporate author: APCEIU This monograph is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No.6 is a research undertaken on two schools of Japan and Korea, in which students were tasked to conduct research on bilateral conflict issues and devise suggestions for peaceful resolution. Besides classroom discussions and presentations, student exchange visit further allowed active learning and engaging of issues, historical awareness and perception, and mutual understanding as global citizens. 
EIU Best Practices Series No. 7: Inculcating School Responsibility in Thai Youth: A Case Study on Sister Schools Project Network under UNESCO ASPNet Year of publication: 2007 Corporate author: APCEIU This monograph is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No.7 is a case study of two Thai schools within the Sister Schools Project Network, which is under the UNESCO ASP NET and UNESCO Club. As schools visited other schools in the network, students became involved in fundraising to support one another, thereby naturally acquiring invaluable team building skills, intercultural understanding, and social responsibility. This case shows that sister school network system can foster values of sharing, caring, and loving, despite socio-economic disparity among students. 
EIU Best Practices Series No. 10: School as a Prism: A Case Study on Gender Equity and Democratic Participation in Sri Lanka Schools Year of publication: 2008 Corporate author: APCEIU This report is one of the APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No.10 introduces a study of nine schools in Sri Lanka, which has been conducted to analyze current practices of gender education and provide suggestions for improvement. Upon careful assessment of documentary surveys, interviews, self-reports, and historical data analysis, the result indicates that gender equality and democratic participation are substantially provided and prioritized in Sri Lankan schools, in lieu of EIU theme of social justice. As common challenges still exist, the research notes the need to further examine learning patterns of boys and girls, classroom-specific gender issues, and good practices that promote role of women in democratic participation.
