Peace: building sustainable peace and global citizenship through education;Global education monitoring report summary 2016 Year of publication: 2017 Corporate author: UNESCO The 2016 GEM Report, the first of a new 15-year series, shows that education will not deliver its full potential to catapult the world forward unless rates of improvement dramatically shift, and education systems consider sustainable development in the way services are delivered. This Peace: Building sustainable peace and global citizenship through education publication is a select extract from the full 2016 Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report: Education for people and planet: Creating sustainable futures for all. It contains two chapters from that full Report – one on peace, political participation and access to justice and the other on education for global citizenship and sustainable development — , along with the associated policy recommendations and a short section of a recent GEM Report Policy Paper Textbooks pave the way to sustainable development.   Establishing a Monitoring System for Global Citizenship Education in South Korea: A Preliminary Study with a Focus on Policy Area Year of publication: 2019 Corporate author: APCEIU The Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding published a report titled "Establishing a Monitoring System for Global Citizenship Education in South Korea: A Preliminary Study with a Focus on Policy Area." The purpose of this research report is to provide implications for the development of indicators for Global Citizenship Education (GCED) which is the target 4.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the establishment of a Korean monitoring system for data accumulation. It is difficult for GCED to set up common indicators to monitor the implementation of each country, as it comprehensively deals with the direction and contents of education, whereas other targets of SDG4 are relatively clear targets and goals such as guaranteeing educational opportunities and improving educational conditions. For this reason, this study proposed Korean indicators based on domestic and international trends and analysis of issues concerning the development of SDG4.7.1 indicators and reviewed the domestic status in implementation based on them, thereby contributing to the development and consolidation of global indicators development and monitoring systems in the future. Year of publication: 2019 Corporate author: APCEIU Identity: A Planetary Construction, a Cosmological Perspective Year of publication: 2016 Author: Norma Azucena Flores Retana In the article the author asks herself what a planetary citizenship is and how it should be promoted. She starts by questioning econocimic perspectives and ends by focusing on an ideal based on solidarity. In the article summary she states: "We live in a world that evolves and changes at a very high speed, a world that is become planetary, that is interdependant and interconnected. Some authors call it the planetary era, others a planetary consciousness. The important thing is to stop and think. Up to what extent, this new world reality, planetary, influences our individual and social identities? How can we educate ourselves in a new planetary conciousness, for a new individual and social identity?, and, which are the paths that we should follow? These are key questions which I will try to analyse in the article, recognizing ourselves not only as human beings that are individual and social, but also planetary." In the article the author provides broad answers and perspectives to the questions stated in the summary. Universal Citizenship and Free Human Mobility: A Look from the Thematic Profile of International Scientific Production Year of publication: 2019 Author: Leonardo Vicente Vera Viteri, Jimmy Manuel Zambrano Acosta | Dania Deroy Dominguez In the summary the author explains that: "The present article makes an approach to the concept of citizenship as endowing and at the same time denying rights, and how it was extended to all people, including migrants.
