Knowing a Language Is Knowing the World: Learning and Supporting the Russian Language in the Republic of Tajikistan (Ethnodialogues; No.1, 2023) Year of publication: 2023 Author: Мунзифахон Бабаджанова The year 2023 in Tajikistan is dedicated to the Russian language. The Russian language today is officially the language of interethnic communication in Tajikistan. With the support and funding of the Russian Federation, “Russian World”, “Russian Language Foundations”, “Russian Space” centers and new Russian language schools were opened and now operate in Tajikistan. Russia has also supported Tajikistan in higher education: three universities with full Russian-language instruction have been established and are operating. 
A Guide on Violence Prevention in Educational Settings in Eastern Europe and Central Asia Year of publication: 2015 Corporate author: UNESCO The emphasis is given to gender-based violence. This guide offers practical advice and proposes organizational and educational measures, as well as response schemes for the management and staff of education institutions in order to address acts of violence and provide assistance to the victims. The guide is advisory in nature: it can be used as a background material for developing a national recommendation on the prevention of violence in an education institution.Experts from the ministries of education, education institutions and public organizations of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) took part in discussions throughout the process of publication-writing.

Prevention Education in Eastern Europe and Central Asia: A Review of Policies and Practices Year of publication: 2014 Corporate author: UNESCO Moscow A new regional study commissioned by UNESCO shows that most EECA countries have policies to provide sex education in schools, but only a few of them have implemented this policy in high-quality teaching practice on a national scale. For the report, more than 100 key legal and policy documents from the EECA countries were analyzed, which made it the first systematic review on this topic in the region. A review of preventive education in ten countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia presents its current state and outlines the prospects for its development to provide all adolescents and young people, including from key population groups, with affordable and high-quality comprehensive education in the field of HIV prevention and reproductive health.
