The Degree of a Faculty Member for the Values of Citizenship from the Perspective of Students Year of publication: 2014 Author: أحمد حسن Corporate author: Taibah University The study aimed to identify the degree to which  a faculty member at the University of AL - Oula branch practices the values of citizenship - as seen from the perspective of students.It also aims to identify the statistical differences between the responses from the study sample according to variables (sex, specialization). The researcher used the descriptive analytical method and a questionnaire consisting of 40 items in four key areas distributed to a sample of 641 persons. The results showed that the degree of a faculty member for the values of citizenship were moderate with a mean of 3.13 and standard deviation of 0.47. The values of loyalty and belonging came first, followed by the values of consultation and participation, values of professional work and production, and finally by the values of equality and justice. The results also showed: a lack of statistically significant differences in the exercise by a faculty member of the values of citizenship due to the  sex variable, and the presence of statistically significant differences attributed to the variable of specialization  in favor of humanities faculties. The Role of Jordanian Faculty Members in Promoting Citizenship Values from Students' Perspectives Year of publication: 2013 Author: الخوالدة، تيسير محم Corporate author: Al-Bayt University This study aimed at identifying the levels of roles played by Jordanian faculty members in promoting citizenship values from the students' perspective. The Study also aimed at identifying differences in the levels of roles played in relationship to the following variables: gender, university type, faculty, and level of study…The researcher developed a 48 item questionnaire whose reliability and validity were tested. The study sample consisted of 928 female and male students who were randomly selected from different Jordanian universities. The study results showed that the level of role played by Jordanian faculty members in promoting citizenship values was moderate in general and in all aspects. In addition, the study found statistically significant differences associated with the measured variables in favor of females (gender), private universities (university type), humanities majors (faculty), first year students (study level)... the researcher presented a set of recommendations; one of the main recommendations is that the university administration should pay more attention to the subject of citizenship values and should ask faculty members to play a bigger role in addressing these values and promoting them among students in addition to integrating citizenship education into university curricula. The Values of Citizenship among University Students and Its Relationship to the Concept of Cultural Globalization and Its Challenges Year of publication: 2013 Author: يونس، مجدي محمد Corporate author: Association of Arab Universities This study aimed to detect the relationship between students' awareness of the concept of cultural globalization and its challenges and the level of commitment to the values of citizenship. The researcher used the descriptive and relational method in both its survey and relational aspects. The research tools were a questionnaire and measure of the values of citizenship among students. The study found the following:  1) The level of awareness of Qassim University students of the concept of cultural globalization and its challenges came at a high average of 3.91. The level of the values of loyalty, belonging, pluralism and acceptance of others came at a high level. Political values of participation came at a medium. 2) There are no statistically significant differences between university students regarding their commitment to the values of citizenship as per the variables: college, and residence of the father's level of education. The academic results of the study have revealed the existence of differences in favor of eighth-level students. 3) There is a correlation between the level of awareness of Qassim University students of the concept of globalization (and its  challenges) and the level of commitment to the values of citizenship. This relationship is positive, in the sense that the higher the degree of awareness of Qassim University students to the concept of globalization. National Identity through Historical Knowledge of School Year of publication: 2014 Author: وريف، علي Corporate author: International Group for Consulting and Training (IGCT) The aim of this article is to shed light on educational functions of teaching history, especially with regard to the features of national identity and collective memory. The article focuses on the dimensions and representations of historical knowledge related to history presented in school. It makes use of time and space dimensions. It continues to cover dimensions of community and issues related to its main questions. It also tackles the educational, social, poltitical and cultural functions of teaching history and its importance in constructing learners indicators of national identity. The article tries also to analyse the dialectical relationship between two main aspects: the first one is the elements of sociopolitical and cultural context that dominate the scene, and the developments in academic history and educational and didactic research. The second one is the developments in the speech of school history declared in the educational documents, such as educational curriculum, textbooks and didactic supports. The study concluded that the school's historic speech data hostage dynamic transformations of social and political view with evoke disparities recorded in the degree of attendance between the social and political forces within the national political scene in Morocco. The scientific developments that the teaching of history field has known impose on the contents of history textbook, specifically the national identity issues, to adopt a different strategy; the curriculum makers, the textbook and cognitive contents writers of social materials have tried to elaborate and develop it to respond to the aspirations of the principle of cultural pluralism, which is printed a lot of communities. Value of Justice Application Degree in School from the Perspective of High School Students in Mecca Year of publication: 2016 Author: حمد، حياة عبد العزيز محمد نياز Corporate author: International Group for Consulting and Training (IGCT) The study aimed to clarify the status of the Value of Justice in Islamic education and identify the degree to which this value is applied by the school headmaster, the teacher and the school advisor from the perspective of secondary school students, in the Mecca city community. The study used the descriptive analytical approach and a questionnaire containing 42 items distributed among 3 axes: the principal, the teacher, the advisor. The sample consisted of 395 males and females, selected randomly. The results showed that the degree of application by the teacher of the justice value as a whole came first, followed by the degree of application by the headmaster, while the degree of application by the school advisor came third. The assumptions of the study found that there are statistically significant differences attributed to the variables of gender (male, female) in favor of males regarding the degree of application of the justice value by the headmaster and the teacher, whereas there were no statistically significant difference regarding the application by the advisor attributed to the gender variable. The study found statistically significant differences due to the variable of specialization (literary/scientific) in favor of literary students while there were no differences due to the variable of education level. Cultural Identity in Contemporary Arab Educational Thought Year of publication: 2009 Author: الرقب، سعيد محمد Corporate author: University of Jordan The study aimed at revealing the reality of the “Cultural Identity” in the contemporary Arab thought, by  tracing the most important references  that the” Cultural Identity” stemmed from This study followed a descriptive analytic method: information and data related to the study were gathered, analysed and evaluated. The comparative method is used as well to study the reality of “the Identity”, from Pre-Islam era till present.The study concluded the followings: 1. A person’s Identity that distinguishes him is a result of his interaction with his culture that he belongs to. 2. In pre-Islam era, the identity was based on two dimensions: the first was physical and this included knowledge; the second was non-physical and was formulated from habits, traditions, customs, and values. 3. In the Early Islamic period, identity was based on the elimination of tribal fanatical values and on the transformation into positive values. That  lead to the unification of the Islamic cultural identity. 4. In the Umayyad period, the identity was featured by its pure Arab identity. 5. In the Abbasid period, the identity elevated from the ethnic level to the language level which is considered as integral factor for identity formulation. 6. At present, “the Identity” is a national one aligned with the one political status, and connected with Arabism, the varied geographical environments and the administrative diversity, and  hence appeared what is called the 'identity of the Arab World'. 7. The references of the “cultural identity” in the modern educational thought are multi, the most prominent of these elements are Islam, nationalism, secularism and socialism, while taking into consideration that Islam and Arabism are the first references for the  unification and preservation of the identity. The Relationship Between Social Cohesion and Cultural Alienation and Identity Crisis and Moral Values among High School Students Year of publication: 2017 Author: الزهراني، علي بن مستور Corporate author: International Group for Consulting and Training (IGCT) The current research aimed to detect the relationship between social cohesion, on one hand, and cultural alienation, the identity crisis and moral values among high school's students, on the other. The participants of this research were (221) students from high school in Jeddah city. The results showed a positive correlation between social cohesion, cultural alienation, identity crisis and moral values. The study's results also pointed that there were no differences between male and female students on the social cohesion scale. The Image of the Other in Moroccan Educational Programs between Ambitious Objectives and Limited Efficiency Year of publication: 2014 Author: حميد، عبد الإله Corporate author: International Group for Consulting and Training (IGCT) This study aims to shed light on the image of ‘the Other’ in Moroccan schools’ curricula, at the secondary and preparatory levels, including teachers. The study addresses the image of the Other in of history books and school programs. It attempts to diagnose the nature of the image of the Other in history books using content analysis techniques that is based on the extraction of relevant signs and phrases and classifying them into thematic categories in order to draw a general picture of the Other.The study used a questionnaire to monitor a sample of among history teachers regarding their representations of the Other. The study tried to provide a set of recommendations and practical suggestions that aim to correct distortions and problems that characterize the current programs. The study advocates a new approach to teaching history that is based on the principles of education on cultural diversity and “tolerance” which should be the regulating framework for values and measures of the educational system in a multicultural society such as the Moroccan society. The Extent to which the Students of Qassim University Posses the Dialogue Culture and Its Role in Promoting Tolerance Year of publication: 2017 Author: الصمادي، هند سمعان Corporate author: International Group for Consulting and Training (IGCT) The current study aimed to identify the extent to which the students of Qassim University possess the dialogue culture and its role in promoting tolerance from their point of view. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher developed a questionnaire which was applied on a stratified study sample.The researcher adopted the analytical descriptive approach. The outcomes showed that the degree of possessing the culture of dialogue among the students was average with an arithmetic mean،and there were no statistically significant differences attributed to gender variable. In addition, the findings detected that there were statistically significant differences attributed to study year and to the discipline variable and that the role of dialogue culture in promoting tolerance was average with an arithmetic mean.The intellectual tolerance had the highest mean, whereas the social tolerance had the lowest mean. Furthermore, the results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences attributed to gender variable, and that there were statistically significant differences attributed to the study year variable. The researcher recommends that more studies should be conducted in the domain of social tolerance. The Degree of Familiarity with Kindergarten Teachers to Child Rights Principles Contained in the National Curriculum in Jordan, from Interactive Education and Legal Perspective Year of publication: 2016 Author: الزبون، سليم عودة Corporate author: University of Jordan The goal of this research is to detect the extent to which kindergarten teachers are familiar with the principles of the rights of children that are included in the National Curriculum, in Jordan, from the interactive education and legal perspective. The study sample consisted of (53) parameters of the original study population, where the sample was selected on the basis of stratified random sample . The researchers developed a questionnaire for this purpose which included (38) of the child rights and distributed them in four areas: social, cognitive, political  and economic, and  was verified. The results showed  weakness in the familiarity by kindergarten teachers of the principles of the rights of children that are included in the National Curriculum. The researchers concluded with a number of recommendations including: to include in the National Curriculum and teachers' guides to  interactive images and activities that illustrate the actual application of the rights of children in everyday situations, and holding training courses for kindergarten teachers on the principles of the rights of the child.
