Education and Cultural Diversity Lessons from Innovative Practice in Latin America Year of publication: 2008 Author: Carolina Hirmas R. Corporate author: UNESCO Santiago This publication, which is the second volume of the collection, is the result of analysis and reflection on a series of innovative educational experiences from several Latin American countries, which respond with pedagogical relevance to the students' cultural context and offer an education oriented towards knowledge, understanding and dialogue between people of different cultures. The significant contribution of the aforementioned experiences lies in the recognition and appreciation of the ethnic and cultural diversity of its students and communities, as a starting point for the development of new learning and affirmation of their identity. In turn, life in educational centers promotes intercultural relations of respect and fraternity in a local and subregional sociogeographic context, characterized by multiculturalism.

Through a rigorous analysis of the social, economic and political reality carried out by academics, public policymakers and other key actors in the development process in Latin America, the aim is to offer recommendations that make economic growth compatible with well-being of the majorities. This publication constitutes the fifth volume of the series and is the result of the willingness of the participating institutions to disseminate, as much as possible, the ideas and discussions that emerged in the seminar. Its reading is a fundamental element to understand the current state of education in the region, as well as the possibilities that exist in this area to continue advancing in inclusion and development. 
Participatory Planning to Achieve Structural Change with Equality: Citizen Participation Strategies in Multi-scale Planning Processes Year of publication: 2015 Author: Carlos Sandoval, Andrea Sanhueza, Alicia Williner Corporate author: United Nations (UN) This manual that ILPES places at the disposal of public officials and non-governmental agents working in the community, has the purpose of sharing a brief theoretical reflection on the current socio-political context through which this manual becomes important; and a set of methodological instruments that will bring the user closer to the social practice of a citizen participation process in the construction of a public management instrument. The manual is divided into two chapters: The first conceptualizes participatory multiscale planning, while also briefly introducing three topics of great importance to be incorporated into any participatory planning process and construction of public management instruments: the perspective of gender, the use of Convention 169 and Principle 10. The second chapter systematizes a set of methodological instruments that describe the stages of a citizen participation strategy to incorporate the multiscale public management instruments. The manual closes with two annexes, the last of which incorporates a set of tools that can be used in the stages of the construction of a citizen participation strategy. 
I International Congress: Good Training Practices for the Professional Development of Teachers 2023 Year of publication: 2023 Corporate author: Chile. Ministry of Education | Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) This book is the result of the First International Congress of Good Training Practices for the Professional Development of Teachers, held on December 5 and 6, 2023 at the Center for Improvement, Experimentation and Pedagogical Research (CPEIP) of the Ministry of Education of Chile (Mineduc), in conjunction with the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI). It includes practices for training with a focus on rights and for sustainable development. 
Citizenship and Digital Literacy Plan 2024 Year of publication: 2024 Corporate author: Chile. Ministerio Secretaría General de Gobierno | Chile. Ministerio de Educación The Ministry of the General Secretariat of the Government together with the Ministry of Education have launched the “Citizenship and Digital Literacy” Plan with the aim of addressing the growing challenges, opportunities and risks involved in the use of digital technologies in everyday life. The actions presented in the plan seek to strengthen the skills of citizens in general and also with a focus on educational communities, supported by the frameworks of digital citizenship and media, information and digital literacy. This plan includes three axes: 1.) Training for citizenship and digital literacy; 2.) Incorporation of media literacy and digital citizenship in the national school curriculum; and 3.) Resources and guidelines for strengthening citizenship and digital literacy.

Ministry of Education The role of families and guardians is essential to help children and adolescents learn to navigate the digital environment, taking advantage of its opportunities and minimizing its risks. For this reason, it is important that schools work with families and guardians to provide support in the digital environment, safeguarding the rights of children and adolescents and promoting their autonomy in a progressive way, through the development of digital citizenship. This kit is composed of: Capsules for parents/guardians that deal with issues related to the digital environment, Booklets “Recommendations for working with families on their mediating role in the use of mobile devices” and a training module “Digital Citizenship”. 
The Challenges to Build Citizenship: Media as a Platform for Dialogue Year of publication: 2010 Author: Claudia Lagos Corporate author: Universidad de Chile The OREALC / UNESCO Santiago and the UNESCO National Commission, the Regional Delegation for Cooperation in the Southern Cone and Brazil, the French Embassy in Chile, the Freedom of Expression Program of the Institute of Communication and Image of the University of Chile and the UNESCO Chair "Media and citizen participation" of the Universidad Diego Portales, commemorated the World Day for Press Freedom 2009 with the seminar "The challenges to build citizenship. Media as a platform for dialogue ", held on May 5, 2009 at the Central House of the University of Chile. The meeting, with national and international guests, made it possible to reflect on and discuss the main issues -although not the only ones- that are currently in the hands of issues related to the promotion of pluralism and diversity; the challenges for journalism and the media in a context of high technological renewal and economic crisis; the lines of work in the matter for the design and execution of public policies, and research in communication. This publication collects the presentations of the speakers during the Seminar, as well as leaves testimony of the commitments assumed by the presidential candidates that we hope will become an agenda not only for the 2010-2014 administration, but also for the political sectors that represent each one of those who signed the document.
