Les choix éditoriaux et iconographiques du site traduisent scrupuleusement cette volonté de ne pas les choquer. Le site a été conçu à partir du questionnement des enfants sur cette période.- Qui étaient ces personnes que les nazis ont voulu assassiner ?- Dans quels pays vivaient-elles ? Quelles langues parlaient-elles ?- Quels ont été les parcours propres à chacune d’entre-elles ?Le Grenier de Sarah permet aux enfants de naviguer sur le site de façon autonome. Toutefois, il est conseillé aux adultes de les accompagner lors de leur première visite afin d’instaurer un dialogue et de répondre à d’éventuelles questions.Pour y répondre, trois rubriques, « Il était une fois », « Des mots à l’oreille » et « En noir et blanc », donnent des clefs de compréhension.- Dans « Il était une fois », des contes donnent un aperçu de la diversité des cultures juives. - Dans « Des mots à l’oreille », des expressions en hébreu, yiddish, judéo-espagnol et judéo-arabe ouvrent une fenêtre sur la pluralité du judaïsme. - Dans « En noir en blanc », neuf parcours témoignent de la vie quotidienne des Juifs pendant la guerre. En cliquant sur l’album photo, l’enfant choisit d’entendre un des récits de vie proposés.Tout au long de chaque parcours, des définitions et des documents, sont à la disposition du jeune visiteur. Pour les enseignants, un espace pédagogique spécifique a été créé afin d’y trouver des ressources complémentaires et des pistes de travail. Sarah’s attic is a website introducing to the Shoah History. It was specifically created for children from age 8 to 12 and respects their sensibility as young visitors. The contents and iconography are carefully intended to suit their emotional and cognitive abilities.The website was designed and elaborated from questions asked by children in History classes teaching this time period - Who were these persons the Nazis wanted to murder?- In which countries did they live? Which languages did they speak?- What were their personal experiences? Sarah’s attic enables children to navigate through the website on their own. Nevertheless, we recommend that adults accompany them on their first visit in order to create a dialog and answer possible questions.As part of a school or extra-curricular framework, this program can be used in small groups with the guidance of an adult.In order to answer these questions, three sections “Once upon a time”, “Words to my ear” and “In black and white” give keys to understanding the event.- In “Once upon a time”, tales give a glimpse of the diversity of Jewish cultures. - In “Words to my ear”, expressions in Hebrew, Yiddish, Judeo-Spanish and Judeo-Arabic open a window on the pluralism of Judaism. - In “In Black and white”, nine personal itineraries bear witness of the daily life of Jews during the war. Along each personal story, definitions and documents are available to the young visitor.For teachers and educators, a specific educational section contains additional resources, guidelines and teaching materials.

South-Eastern Europe regional synthesis: climate change, displacement and the right to education Year of publication: 2023 Corporate author: UNESCO In 2021 alone, 23.7 million people were displaced in 137 countries and territories due to natural disasters, which the scientific community has recognized have become more frequent and intense due to climate change. Climate change and displacement is currently taking place in Europe, with particularly disastrous consequences in South-Eastern Europe due to regional specificities. Comparative country case studies were carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Moldova, and Serbia, as they exemplify clear, present patterns of climate displacement, to examine the impacts of climate change on the right to education in the region. The case studies show that climate change directly threatens education through the destruction of schools and property. It also indirectly puts learning in peril by leading people across borders where their legal residency nor right to education is ensured. This publication aims to guide policy-makers by providing recommendations on how to ensure the protection of the right to education in South-Eastern Europe in the face of climate change and displacement. It is one of four regional reports that will lead to the development of a global report providing global policy guidance.

A Brief History of Currents and Debates in the Field of Ethnic Studies in Education in the Quebec Society (Cahiers de recherche sociologique; no. 64) Year of publication: 2018 Author: Maryse Potvin Corporate author: Athéna éditions The issues of pluralism, equity and inclusion are among the top priorities of the 21st century for education systems. These issues have given rise, in Quebec as elsewhere, to a specific field of public policies and interventions, debates and research for 50 years. This article traces the relatively "successive" appearance of currents - multicultural or intercultural, anti-racist, civic and rights-based, inclusive, still present in the sociology of education today - and shows how they marked (and predominated in) the normative discourses and the field of ethnic studies in education in Quebec during three different periods : the years 1970-1980, 1990-2000, 2010 to the present day. This article outlines the main "currents of ideas" and debates in this field of education during these three periods, and situates these debates in their links, both with the main social issues or significant events in the Quebec context and with the evolution of public policies in this field. 
North/South Relationships in the International Trade Union Movement: The Weight of History and the Rigidity of Structures (Quebec Journal of International Law; Special Issue, Nov.) Year of publication: 2012 Author: Sid Ahmed Soussi Corporate author: Société québécoise de droit international (SQDI) The following article submits a critical analysis regarding the evolution of North-South relations within the International Trade Union Movement, specifically concerning the creation of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) in 2006. Currently faced with a growing transnational outsourcing phenomenon, affecting collective conflict and labor regulation in Africa as well as South and Central America, the ITUC draws attention to new issues. In terms of collective action, numerous South and Central American unions favor local alliances that extend to non-unionized actors. They criticize the ITUC’s ignorance of local resistance as well as its preference for global action that is carried out through continental and institutional strategies. Divergences among members of the International Trade Union Movement are not only the result of internal power struggles that surfaced within the organization in 2006, during the Vienna exchanges. These differences owe their existence to history, notably to rapports of domination that the postcolonial period renewed and brought forward in other forms. In addition to history, declining notions of collective action resulting from differential policies also contribute to divergences. These policies are similar to the relationship between society and the State that Northern and Southern organizations base on separate premises. Here, the analysis is depicted by Quebec’s central labor organizations’ and the international methods of cooperation they employ. Several studies underline the emergence of new forms of representation and collective action lead by a number of South and Central American labor organizations. Even though, in some cases, these new types of representation take on traditional forms of unionism such as marked political involvement and organizational instability, they surface within atypical strategies. These unusual approaches include the coexistence of socially-generated unionism and community unionism, as well as the mobilization of local resistance movements through coalitions that extend to other community actors with prioritized issues (oversized informal economies and a compressed public sector). The analysis explores the underlying dynamic that, based on recurring local experiences, produces consequences on a global scale. 
Defense and Citizenship Day Year of publication: 2022 Corporate author: Secretary General for Administration of the Ministry of Armed Forces (France) The JDC is a key step not to be missed. This mandatory day raises young people's awareness of the spirit of Defense and commitment to society. Coming after the census, this is the third and final stage of the citizenship journey. For one day, it presents young people with the issues and general objectives of defense and national security, raising their awareness of the rights and duties related to citizenship, road safety, organ donation, etc. This day also makes it possible to evaluate the basic learning of the French language or even to detect young people without diplomas and without jobs to offer them solutions. The JDC is the keystone of the Armed Forces Youth Ambition Plan to follow young people, introduce them to the professions of the armed forces and support them until they are hired.
