Toolbox in Education for Peace Year of publication: 2013 Author: Luz Marfa Chapela Corporate author: UNESCO Mexico The components of this box form a system in which each element has its own ends and all the elements, gathered and linked, seek the same shared goal: offer recreational materials that encourage introspective reflection, the best knowledge of the other and the environment, the collaborative study, the participation of different agents of the community in support of teachers, the use of mother tongues and the identification of resources, knowledge, talents and skills in local communities. This box is addressed in a special way to teachers and students of basic education, as well as to different agents of the civil society that support them. Its purpose is to favor the development of school communities that make the school a center of study, play, advice and work for all. Because the materials of the Toolbox can also be interesting to young people and adults of all ages. In this sense, the box invites the different agents of the communities to think and produce new playful-educational materials that collect and put into action some priority local contents, which, surely, will enrich the life and educational possibilities of school communities. Caja de Herramientas en Educación para la Paz Year of publication: 2013 Author: Luz Marfa Chapela Corporate author: UNESCO Mexico Los componentes de esta caja forman un sistema en el que cada elemento tiene sus propios fines y todos los elementos, reunidos y vinculados, buscan un mismo fin compartido: ofrecer materiales lúdicoeducativos que propicien la reflexión introspectiva, el mejor conocimiento del otro y del entorno, el estudio colaborativo, la participación de distintos agentes de la comunidad en apoyo a los maestros, el uso de las lenguas maternas y la identificación de recursos, saberes, talentos y habilidades en las comunidades locales. Esta caja se dirige de manera especial a maestros y estudiantes de educación básica, así como a distintos agentes de la sociedad civil que los apoyan. Tiene entre sus propósitos favorecer el desarrollo de comunidades escolares que hagan de la escuela un centro de estudio, juego, asesoría y trabajo para todos. Porque los materiales de la Caja de Herramientas también pueden resultar interesantes a jóvenes y adultos de todas las edades. En este sentido, la caja invita a los distintos agentes de las comunidades a pensar y producir nuevos materiales lúdico-educativos que recojan y pongan en acción algunos contenidos locales prioritarios, mismos que, seguramente, enriquecerán la vida y las posibilidades educativas de las comunidades escolares.

Derechos humanos, pueblos indigenas y globalización Year of publication: 2017 Author: Marisol Anglés Hernández Corporate author: National Human Rights Commission (Mexico) Conjunto de ensayos de carácter jus-antropológico y jus-sociológico y de la ciencia del derecho sobre la problemática social, política, ideológica y cultural de los pueblos indígenas y los grupos marginados en México. El centro del asunto radica en lo siguiente: a pesar de los múltiples compromisos establecidos por los actores jurídicos de diversa índole, los tratados internacionales y declaraciones, a la fecha no se han podido satisfacer las demandas de las comunidades originarias. Cabe mencionar que, a pesar de la existencia de principios básicos, tales como: universalidad, interdependencia, indivisibilidad y progresividad, las demandas fundamentales de las colectividades sociales excluidas, reconocidas tanto en la Constitución federal, como en los tratados internacionales, en la praxis no han sido atendidas. 
Alternative bilingual Miskito-Spanish intercultural literacy education linked to the exercise of citizenship and community production Year of publication: 2008 Corporate author: Regional Literacy and CONFINTEA VI Preparatory Conference in Latin America and the Caribbean: From Literacy to Lifelong Learning: Towards the Challenges of the 21st Century, Mexico City, 2008 The Alternative Bilingual Intercultural Literacy Education project is carried out in five rural indigenous communities and eleven urban neighbourhoods of Bilwi (Puerto Cabezas) in the North Atlantic Autonomous Region (RAAN) of Nicaragua. In this region, illiteracy is the result of poverty, historical social exclusion and the lack of any official or State programme of adult literacy education in the Miskito language. This constitutes a negation of the right to bilingual intercultural education of the young and adult indigenous population and an obstacle to individual, social and regional development. The project provides literacy classes for young people and adults in their mother tongue Miskito and in Spanish, and deals with intercultural themes of their world view, the environment and indigenous rights. In Nicaragua, this experiment is a unique and alternative model of literacy provision in Miskito, with a Miskito-Spanish bilingual intercultural curriculum of its own. The texts have been produced by authors from the Miskito ethnic group, with contents determined on the basis of a needs analysis and the identification of fundamental features of the Miskito world view. Dans cette région, l'analphabétisme est le résultat de la pauvreté, l'exclusion sociale historique et l'absence de tout programme officiel ou de l'Etat de l'alphabétisation des adultes dans la langue Miskito. Ceci constitue une négation du droit à l'éducation interculturelle bilingue des jeunes et des adultes population indigène et un obstacle au développement individuel, social et régional. Le projet offre des cours d'alphabétisation pour les jeunes et les adultes dans leur Miskito langue maternelle et en espagnol, et traite des thèmes interculturels de leur vision du monde, l'environnement et les droits des autochtones. Au Nicaragua, cette expérience est un modèle unique et alternatif de la prestation de l'alphabétisation en Miskito, avec un bilingue Miskito-espagnol curriculum interculturel propre. Les textes ont été rédigés par des auteurs du groupe ethnique Miskito, avec des contenus déterminés sur la base d'une analyse des besoins et l'identification des caractéristiques fondamentales de la vision du monde Miskito.
