The CapED Programme: Annual Report 2019 Año de publicación: 2020 Autor corporativo: UNESCO UNESCO is the United Nation’s specialized agency for education and is mandated to lead and coordinate progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 4 – “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.The CapED Programme is central to delivering on this mandate through capacity development. It mobilizes UNESCO’s worldwide network of specialized Institutes and offices and works with partners to assist countries as they develop and implement national plans to deliver on SDG4 commitments.The Annual Report 2019 provides information on achievements and progress made in the 26 countries where CapED is operational. Inaugural Meeting of the GCED Actors' Platform: Final Report Año de publicación: 2020 Autor corporativo: APCEIU This final report gives an overview of discussions and outcomes from the “Inaugural Meeting of the GCED Actors’ Platform” on 2 September 2019 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, held back-to-back with the 4th International Conference on GCED (3-4 September 2019, Seoul) In line with the call for closer collaboration on GCED inter-regionally, the GCED Actors’ Platform was launched by UNESCO Headquarters and APCEIU in 2019. Convening regional coordinators and different partners working on GCED, the “Inaugural Meeting of the GCED Actors’ Platform” provided an open space for the participants to discuss ways to coordinate activities and promote synergies.The regional representatives have imparted their own experiences and challenges on the ground and shared best practices of facilitating GCED. 
The GCED Actors' Platform and the Regional GCED Networks Initiative: Activating Partnerships for Global Citizenship Education Año de publicación: 2020 Autor corporativo: APCEIU This brief publication introduces and summarizes the flagship GCED Network initiatives supported by APCEIU implemented globally and regionally.UNESCO Headquarters and APCEIU co-convened the launch of the GCED Actors’ Platform in which gathered key partners across the globe and representing five Regional GCED Networks. These five Regional GCED Networks include Sub-Saharan Africa, Arab States, Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America, and Latin America and the Caribbean are formed to identify regional priorities and implement regional strategies to promote GCED. The publication also showcases successful independent activities by organizations part of the GCED Network initiative. 
Global Citizenship Education in Southern Africa: Learning to Live Together - the Role of Teachers; Report of a Networking Meeting Año de publicación: 2019 Autor corporativo: UNESCO Harare | APCEIU This is a report on the second GCED networking meeting held from 28 to 29 October 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa. It took stock of GCED in the region and discussed how GCED is and could be integrated in curricula and teacher education in the Southern African context to strengthen and expand the existing networks of GCED stakeholders and partners. 
National Capacity Building on Inventorying the Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Arab Republic of Egypt Año de publicación: 2024 Autor: Ahmed Bahi El Din | Haitham Younes Autor corporativo: UNESCO | UNESCO Cairo Communities in Egypt are inventorying their living heritage Egypt is famed for its rich civilization and long history. Egyptian identity is presented not only through archaeological sites and Ancient Egyptian civilization, but also through Egypt’s diverse living heritage. More than simply showing who they are today, this living heritage tells the story of how the Egyptians arrived at this point over the generations.To celebrate this identity and strengthen national capacities to safeguard it, UNESCO, alongside the Egyptian government and civil society, implemented the project Strengthening National Capacities for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage in Egypt for Sustainable Development, which ran from June 2018 to June 2021.The project focused on community-based inventorying of living heritage. This involved training workshops and a pilot community-based inventorying exercise, which took place in six different locations throughout Egypt (Cairo, Fayoum, Gharbeya, Aswan, Assuit, and Marsa Matrouh). Thanks to the project, participating community practitioners and heritage bearers are now equipped to inventory their own living heritage. • This pilot was Egypt’s first step to establishing a national inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) under the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with community practitioners. • This publication provides recommendations on how to further enhance national capabilities for ICH safeguarding and how to advance community engagement in the inventorying processes in Egypt. 
Earth Network Project: Connecting UNESCO-Designated Sites With Experts to Boost Biodiversity Año de publicación: 2024 Autor corporativo: UNESCO The Earth Network project was launched in 2021 with the support of the Government of Italy. It brings together over 380 experts from more than 60 countries, encompassing diverse biodiversity-related fields that include land restoration, environmental management and environmental law. The specialists volunteer to put their unique skillsets and knowledge at the disposal of sites designated by UNESCO which request their assistance. The Earth Network covers all scientific domains and proudly combines different forms of knowledge: scientific, practitioner, local and indigenous. On the ground, these experts provide technical advice, collect data, build partnerships, and provide training tailored to the specific needs and priorities of each UNESCO-designated site.
