Peace the Best Way Año de publicación: 2017 Autor corporativo: Lesotho Distance Teaching Centre (LDTC) The storybook titled “Peace, the Best Way (Ngoan’a Khotso Ha a Lebale Tsa Khotso)” is an end-product of Workshop in Lesotho on GCED: Teacher Training on Peace Education & GCED Learning Material Development held between 12 and 14 of July 2017. During the workshop, participants created learning materials on peace and conflict transformation based on what they have learned throughout the sessions.The authors share their stories of conflicts that they encounter in their everyday lives and further identify ways of managing and resolving the conflicts in a peaceful manner to let everyone live in harmony. They hope to instill the importance of peace not only to the adults reading the book, but also to the younger generation who learn from their parents and adults of the community.The book published in English as well as Sesotho, will be used as teaching and learning resources for learners and also be disseminated to public locations including schools, community centers and libraries.For more information on the Workshop, Please click here.

Les équipes de journalistes et d’enquêteurs de l'ONG peignent un portrait plutôt sombre, avec notamment un recul du droit des femmes, les conséquences dramatiques du réchauffement climatique sur les populations les plus vulnérables, le recul du droit de manifester, ou encore la prolifération de la haine en ligne dans le monde. La multiplication des conflits armés et le choc du 7 octobre ont également eu des conséquences dramatiques. Cependant, quelques bonnes nouvelles sont aussi à noter, avec des avancées pour les droits des personnes LGBTI par exemple. TheNGO's teams of journalists and investigators paint a rather gloomy picture, with, in particular, a decline in women's rights, the dramatic consequences of global warming on the most vulnerable populations, a decline in the right to protest, and the proliferation of online hate around the world. The multiplication of armed conflicts and the shock of October 7 have also had dramatic consequences. However, there is some good news too, with advances in LGBTI rights for example. Evidence on Inclusive Education in Kazakhstan based on a Formative and a Big Data Evaluation Año de publicación: 2024 Autor: Arseniy Gurin | Udayan Rathore | Zhanar Zhaxylykova Autor corporativo: UNICEF Kazakhstan The objective of the JB formative evaluation was to examine the functioning of the state education programmes between 2011 and 2021 with a special focus on inclusivity. This covered children from pre-school to secondary school levels. The Big data evaluation or Social Media Listening (SML) study focused on the same age group of children and aimed to further the understanding of different stakeholder perspectives, as expressed via social media and online news media outlets. The demography of Kazakhstan reflects that it is a relatively young country. Given that the youth are more inclined to using social media, this is an important source of discussions in the country, including those on inclusive education. Демографическая ситуация отражает то, что Казахстан относительно молодая нация. Disability Discrimination in the Digital Realm: How the ICRPD Applies to Artificial Intelligence Decision-Making Processes and Helps in Determining the State of International Human Rights Law (Human Rights Law Reivew; Volume. 23, Issue. 3) Año de publicación: 2023 Autor: Tetyana Krupiy | Martin Scheinin Scholars have identified challenges to protecting individuals from discrimination in contexts where organisations deploy artificial intelligence decision-making processes. While scholarship on ‘digital discrimination’ is growing, scholars have paid less attention to the impact of the use of artificial intelligence decision-making processes on persons with disabilities. This article posits that while the use of artificial intelligence technology can be beneficial for some purposes, its deployment can also construct a disability. The article demonstrates that the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities can be interpreted in a manner that confers a wide variety of human rights on persons with disabilities in the context when entities deploy artificial intelligence decision-making processes. The article proposes a test for digital discrimination based on disability and shows how it can be incorporated into the treaty through legal interpretation. Thereafter, it moves to developing an analogous general test for digital discrimination under international human rights law, applicable beyond a catalogue of protected characteristics.
