Este cambio exige replantear los roles de los docentes y las competencias que necesitan en la era de la IA. Sin embargo, son pocos los países que han definido estas competencias o desarrollado programas nacionales para capacitar a los docentes en IA, lo que deja a muchos educadores sin una orientación adecuada.El Marco de competencias en materia de IA para docentes aborda esta brecha al definir los conocimientos, habilidades y valores que los docentes deben dominar en la era de la IA. Desarrollada bajo los principios de protección de los derechos de los docentes, del fortalecimiento de la capacidad de acción humana y de la promoción de la sostenibilidad, la publicación describe 15 competencias que atraviesan cinco dimensiones: una forma de pensar centrada en el ser humano, la ética de la IA, los fundamentos y aplicaciones de la IA, la pedagogía de la IA, y la IA para el aprendizaje profesional. Estas competencias se clasifican en tres niveles de progresión: adquirir, profundizar y crear.Como una referencia global, esta herramienta orienta el desarrollo de marcos nacionales de competencias en IA, brinda insumos para los programas de formación docente y ayuda a diseñar parámetros de evaluación. También ofrece estrategias para que los docentes desarrollen conocimientos sobre IA, apliquen principios éticos y apuntalen su crecimiento profesional. 
Digital Citizenship in Asia-Pacific: Translating Competencies for Teacher Innovation and Student Resilience Año de publicación: 2023 Autor corporativo: UNESCO Bangkok A digitally-equipped and competent teaching force is crucial for cultivating students' digital citizenship skills. This UNESCO report, consisting of a comprehensive analysis comprising 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, unveils compelling evidence pertaining to what factors influence teachers' Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and their impact on students’ digital citizenship competencies. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the findings of this report show that students are developing most of their digital citizenship competencies through self-directed learning and outside of school. Nevertheless, teachers still play an important role, particularly in coaching students to use technology safely and effectively. Thus as UNESCO reports, Digital Creativity and Innovation remains relatively underdeveloped in all participating research countries. Additionally, female students tend to benefit more from teachers' guidance and advice, especially in terms of Digital Safety and Resilience. Support for teachers in terms of access to ICT infrastructure and training on ICT and pedagogical skills will contribute towards improving their ability to effectively guide and mentor their students, ultimately leading to better outcomes in terms of digital citizenship competencies. To achieve this, it is important for education systems to develop comprehensive and contextualized approaches to enhance digital citizenship capacities in teachers. Education policymakers and leaders are encouraged to use the 10 recommendations herein as a ‘roadmap’ to ensure that teachers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively integrate digital citizenship education into their teaching practices. This will ultimately help prepare students for the digital world and ensure their safety and well-being online.

While technological innovations like ChatGPT, DALL-E and Bard offer previously unimaginable gains in productivity, they also present concerns for the overall protection and promotion of human rights and for the safety of women and girls.The arrival of generative AI introduces new, unexplored questions: what are the companies’ policies and normative cultures that perpetuate technology-facilitated gender-based violence and harms? How do AI-based technologies facilitate gender-specific harassment and hate speech? What “prompt hacks” can lead to gendered disinformation, hate speech, harassment, and attacks? What measures can companies, governments, civil society organisations and independent researchers take to anticipate and mitigate these risks?A combination of measures are proposed to be put in place by generative AI companies and the technology companies that platform them, regulators and policy makers, by civil society organisations and independent researchers, as well as users.
