Síntesis de las reflexiones y los aportes surgidos durante la 46a Conferencia Internacional de Educación de la UNESCO, Ginebra, 5-8 de septiembre de 2001 Año de publicación: 2003 Autor corporativo: UNESCO International Bureau of Education (IBE) | UNESCO Brasilia The present book is based mainly on the work of the forty-sixth session of the International Conference on Education (ICE), organized by UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education (IBE) and held in Geneva from 5 to 8 September 2001. The theme of the conference was ‘Education for All for Learning to Live Together: Contents and Learning Strategies - Problems and Solutions’. Unless stated otherwise, the numerous quotations chosen to illustrate the points made in this book are from ICE documents and contributions. The Conclusions and Proposals for Action adopted by the 2001 ICE are provided in Chapter V.The ICE is the only regularly occurring event during which Ministers of Education from all over the world can meet. It therefore serves as a unique and highly appreciated international forum for high-level dialogue on educational issues and their policy implications.The 2001 ICE brought together over 600 participants from 127 countries, including in particular 80 Ministers and 10 Vice-Ministers of Education, as well as representatives of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations. The themes of the 2001 ICE were, and still are, very relevant all over the world: those in charge of education have become well aware of the necessity and complexity of living together, as well as of the role and limits of education in this respect.The ICE was inspired by abundant literature dealing with the principle issues that participants debated, including: Preparatory reports;National reports presented by the Member States;Examples of initiatives and good practice (including those presented at the conference as video case studies);Messages from Ministers of Education attending the Conference;And contributions from the numerous researchers, experts, educationists and decision makers at all levels of education who also participated in the Netforum between April and August 2001.More information and opinions on the vast issue of Education for All for Learning to Live Together were added during the Conference itself, in the form of keynote addresses, presentations and debates during the two plenary sessions, six thematic workshops and the special session devoted to partnerships with civil society.The present book draws on this wealth of experience, research, opinions, ideas and visions of the future. It seeks to contribute to bringing the debate on Education for All for Learning to Live Together closer to actors of the global educational community. By setting out ins concise way the key issues and proposed actions, and illustrating them with concrete examples, numerous quotations and a number of questions, this book is intended particularly for teacher trainers, teachers themselves and their professional organizations, as well as for all actors in civil society who endeavour to improve the quality of education, to encourage dialogue and to foster in this way the capacity for living together.Neither a ‘conference report’ nor a scientific or academic work, this book is intended to be a sort of ‘gallery of photographs’ of the forty-sixth session of the ICE – its atmosphere of dialogue, the themes of its debates, and the first-hand descriptions and experiences exchanged. Far from prescribing norms or standards, it intends to share information, ideas and practices, rather like the ICE itself, in a spirit of exchange and dialogue.
Reporte: Educación y habilidades para el siglo XXI; Reunión Regional de Ministros de Educación de América Latina y el Caribe, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 24 y 25 de enero 2017 Año de publicación: 2017 Autor corporativo: UNESCO Santiago This report provides a systematization of the discussions at the Regional Meeting of Ministers of Education of Latin America and the Caribbean “E2030: Education and skills for the 21st century” held 24‐25 January 2017 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The objectives of the meeting were to: • adopt a Ministerial Declaration on a joint approach to achieve the SDG4-E2030 Agenda in the region, including means of implementation, technical instruments of support and follow-up mechanisms. • agree on a roadmap for the implementation of E2030, including a contextualized followup mechanism that responds to the region’s educational challenges and expectations.
E2030: educación y habilidades para el siglo XXI; reporte Año de publicación: 2017 Autor corporativo: UNESCO Santiago The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, OREALC/UNESCO Santiago, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sport of the Republic of Argentina, organized the Regional Meeting of Ministers of Education of Latin America and the Caribbean – “E2030: Education and skills for the 21st century”. Ministers of Education and high-level representatives of the education sector of the Member States of LAC; bilateral, regional and multilateral organizations; United Nations agencies; representatives of civil society; stakeholders and UNESCO experts participated in the meeting, which was held on 24-25 January 2017 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This was the first ministerial meeting to be organized within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 4 – “Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning”. It provided a space for dialogue between ministers of education and other stakeholders to debate SDG 4 in the context of the 2030 SDG Agenda. Discussions and information sharing on various topics related to the SDG 4 targets, and on the coordination mechanisms and monitoring instruments conducive to the achievement of E2030 enabled LAC Member States to reach a common vision and understanding of E2030 in the region. This joint approach on E2030 for the region is laid down in the Declaration of Buenos Aires, which ministers adopted at the end of the meeting.
Educación para la Ciudadanía Mundial en América Latina y el Caribe: Hacia un mundo sin muros: educación para la ciudadanía mundial en el ODS4 - Agenda E2030 Año de publicación: 2018 Autor corporativo: UNESCO Santiago La Reunión Regional para América Latina y el Caribe de la Red de Educación para la Ciudadanía Mundial “Hacia un mundo sin muros: educación para la ciudadanía mundial en el ODS 4 – Agenda E2030”, fue organizada por la Oficina Regional de Educación para América Latina y el Caribe (OREALC / UNESCO Santiago) y el Centro de Educación para la Comprensión Internacional de Asia-Pacífico (APCEIU), en colaboración con el Observatorio Chileno de Políticas Educativas de la Universidad de Chile (OPECH). La cita se desarrolló el 23 y 24 de octubre de 2017 en Santiago de Chile, y a ella fueron convocados pensadores y activistas de la región, provenientes de organizaciones de la sociedad civil, comunidades educativas, movimientos sociales, organismos gubernamentales y universidades. El objetivo de la reunión fue promover el diálogo sobre el concepto de Educación para la Ciudadanía Mundial (ECM) y profundizar en una mirada regional para propiciar la conformación de una red que permita fortalecer la implementación de la ECM, situada en el contexto de América Latina y el Caribe. Se presenta este documento como síntesis de las principales temáticas que fueron abordadas y discutidas en el encuentro. A continuación, se presenta el documento fundacional que establece la Red Regional de Educación para la Ciudadanía Mundial para América Latina y el Caribe, que fue elaborada a raíz de las discusiones.
Consulta regional de la UNESCO en América Latina sobre educación sobre el Holocausto y el genocidio: informe Año de publicación: 2014 Autor corporativo: UNESCO Santiago This consultation with Latin American Member States sought to raise awareness amongst policymakers and education specialists of the region about the history of the Holocaust, as it can contribute to the prevention of genocide, following United Nations General Assembly resolution 60/7 on Holocaust remembrance. The meeting also aimed at fostering concrete cooperation between UNESCO and Member States on education about the history of genocide and mass atrocities, notably the Holocaust, with a view of introducing the subject in the curriculum and of developing relevant educational programmes in the region. The overall objectives of the project were as follows:▶ Strengthen educational leaders’ awareness and support for Holocaust remembrance and education about the history of genocide and mass atrocities, in line with regional efforts to foster education for peace and human rights.▶ Increase the implementation of education programmes about the history of the Holocaust and other genocides, and support interested Ministries of Education to introduce these subjects in the curriculum.▶ Foster regional exchanges about this topic and facilitate access to good practices regarding Holocaust and genocide related issues and peace education.
