Green and Digital Skills for Hospitality and Tourism: From Industry Trends to Competencies within TVET Año de publicación: 2024 Autor: Franziska Wettstein Autor corporativo: UNESCO International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (UNEVOC) Unlocking the potential of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is instrumental for a more digital and sustainable hospitality and tourism sector. The hospitality and tourism sector is a cornerstone for the global economy, yet its substantial environmental footprint necessitates urgent innovation. Embracing the use of cuttingedge technology, such as AI-driven customer management and smart analysis of energy consumption, can help mitigate these impacts and foster green, sustainable solutions. As digitalization and sustainability redefine the industry, traditional job roles are undergoing continuous transformation, impacting the day-to-day tasks and activities of workers. The integration of emerging green and digital competencies into TVET is crucial for steering this transformation. By equipping workers with relevant qualifications and competencies, TVET holds the key to a greener and digitally driven sector. This publication proposes approaches to facilitate the dual transition in hospitality and tourism, structured around the identification of emerging green and digital competencies in a timely manner, their integration into future-oriented curricula, and their effective implementation in TVET. Drawing on practical examples from Africa, Asia-Pacific and Europe, it offers actionable recommendations for policymakers and practitioners. TVET stakeholders from across the globe are invited to embrace innovation and engage in the transfer of knowledge and good practices to unlock the sector’s potential for a green and digitally just transformation. For the black, indigenous and mestizo women of the Bajo Atrato, their bodies are a substantive part of the territories and, from there, they have built and defended it. The rivers, swamps and streams are the extension of their arms and legs, waters in which they remain submerged carrying out daily tasks together with other women, their sons and daughters. In said construction and defense, their body-territories have been severely dispossessed and violated. However, they have fought and resisted, and continue to do so despite enormous risks, serious human rights violations and state abandonment. In Women: dispossessed bodies and territories in the Bajo AtratoAnalytical and contextual elements are presented that help to understand the complex relationship between gender-based violence and the processes of defending the rights to land and territory. With the delivery of this report to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), the CINEP/PPP and the Inter-Church Commission for Justice and Peace, within the framework of the Vamos por la Paz project, provide relevant information to case 004, which prioritizes the events that occurred in the region of Urabá, Bajo Atrato and Darién. Lessons Learned for Peace Año de publicación: 2019 This resource is part of a collection of resources compiled by UNICEF’s 2012-2016 Peacebuilding, Education and Advocacy Programme (PBEA), known as Learning for Peace, which was funded by the Government of the Netherlands.
