ESCWA Water Development Report 8: The Water-related Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab Region Año de publicación: 2019 Autor corporativo: UN. ESCWA) Water-related SDGs have a central role in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its interlinked Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets. While the dedicated goal on water (SDG6) aims to ensure availability and the sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, pursing this goal supports the achievement many other goals. Regional monitoring and reporting of the water-related SDGs thus supports a better understanding of water across the sustainable development agenda and provides insights on the progress and challenges facing the Arab region as it aims to achieve the SDGs and associated national targets under conditions of water scarcity and increasing water stress. This eighth issue of the Water Development Report of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) examines the water-related SDGs from the perspective of water security and scarcity in the Arab region. It identifies ways to assess and address present and projected water scarcity at the regional and national levels for various climate change scenarios. It reviews regional and national water strategies and action plans coherency with global water-related goals and targets. The study analyses how the water-related SDG targets and indicators can guide the development of policy measures to tackle water challenges in the Arab region. Proposed policy interventions include measures to conserve and protect water resources and generate additional nonconventional water resources. Selected policy options are quantified and analysed for two climate scenarios for the future period 2030-2050 in view of informing sustainable planning and appropriate decision support systems to optimize and rationalize water use. The report also provides insights on institutional mechanisms in place for monitoring and implementing water-related SDGs at various scales. تقرير المياه والتنمية الثامن: أهداف التنمية المستدامة المتعلقة بالمياه في المنطقة العربية Año de publicación: 2019 Autor corporativo: UN. ESCWA) لأهداف التنمية المستدامة ذات الصلة بالمياه دور رئيسي في تحقيق خطة التنمية المستدامة لعام 2030 وأهداف التنمية المستدامة الأخرى ومقاصدها. ويسعى الهدف المكرّس للمياه (الهدف 6) إلى ضمان توفر المياه وإتاحة خدمات الصرف الصحي للجميع وإدارتهما بشكل مستدام. وفي العمل على بلوغه ما يدعم تحقيق العديد من الأهداف الأخرى. ويساهم رصد أهداف التنمية المستدامة ذات الصلة بالمياه والإبلاغ عنها على الصعيد الإقليمي في فهم أفضل لموقع المياه في خطة التنمية المستدامة، ويعطي فكرة عما حققته المنطقة العربية من تقدم وما واجهته من تحديات في سعيها إلى تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة والغايات الوطنية المرتبطة بها، في ظل ندرة المياه وزيادة الإجهاد المائي. ويبحث العدد الثامن من تقرير اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا (الإسكوا) حول تنمية المياه في أهداف التنمية المستدامة ذات الصلة بالمياه من منظور الأمن المائي وندرة المياه في المنطقة العربية. ويحدّد طرقاً لتقييم ومعالجة ندرة المياه الحالية والمتوقعة على المستويين الإقليمي والوطني على ضوء سيناريوهات مختلفة لتغيُّر المناخ. ويستعرض مدى اتساق الاستراتيجيات وخطط العمل المائية الإقليمية والوطنية مع الأهداف والمقاصد العالمية ذات الصلة بالمياه. وتبيّن الدراسة كيف يمكن الاسترشاد بمقاصد ومؤشرات أهداف التنمية المستدامة ذات الصلة بالمياه في وضع تدابير في السياسة العامة لمواجهة تحديات المياه في المنطقة العربية. وتشمل التدخلات المقترحة على صعيد السياسات العامة تدابير للحفاظ على موارد المياه وحمايتها، وتوليد موارد مائية إضافية غير تقليدية. ويتم تقدير السياسات العامة المختارة وتحليلها ضمن سيناريوهين مناخيين للفترة المستقبلية 2030-2050 بهدف توجيه التخطيط المستدام والنُظُم الداعمة لعمليات اتخاذ القرارات بما يؤدي إلى تحسين استخدام المياه وترشيده. ويستعرض التقرير الآليات المؤسسية القائمة لرصد أهداف التنمية المستدامة ذات الصلة بالمياه وتنفيذها على مستويات مختلفة.

A Suggested Proposal for the Role of Universities in Developing Students’ Awareness of Digital Citizenship in Light of Requirements and Challenges of the Digital Age: A Case Study of Bisha University (Arts for Educational & Psychological Studies; vol.14, no.1) Año de publicación: 2022 Autor: Sheikha Abdullah Al-Briki Balabied Autor corporativo: Dhamar University The study aimed to measure the degree of students’ awareness of the digital citizenship at the University of Bisha, and to develop a proposed scenario in the light of the results of the study, which included a framework for activating the role of universities in developing their students' awareness of digital citizenship to meet the requirements and challenges of the digital age. The analytical descriptive method was used by conducting an exploratory study and designing a questionnaire to measure the degree of students' awareness of digital citizenship. The most prominent results were that the degree of students' awareness of digital citizenship was "very high" on the total digital citizenship awareness scale. There were no statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females, nor between the average degrees of students of theoretical and practical colleges on the total digital citizenship awareness scale. تصور مقترح لدور الجامعات في تطوير وعي الطلبة بالمواطنة الرقمية في ضوء متطلبات العصر الرقمي وتحدياته جامعة بيشة أنموذجًا (مجلة الآداب للدراسات النفسية والتربوية; vol.14, no.1) Año de publicación: 2022 Autor: Sheikha Abdullah Al-Briki Balabied Autor corporativo: Dhamar University هدفت الدراسة إلى قياس درجة وعي طلبة الجامعة بالمواطنة الرقمية، ووضع تصور مقترح في ضوء نتائج الدراسة تضمن إطار عمل لتفعيل دور الجامعات في تنمية وعي الطلبة بالمواطنة الرقمية في ضوء متطلبات وتحديات العصر الرقمي. استُخدم المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خلال تصميم استبانة لقياس درجة وعي الطلبة بالمواطنة الرقمية. ولتحقيق ذلك اتبعت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خلال الدراسة الاستطلاعية وبناء استبانة لقياس درجة وعي الطلبة بالمواطنة الرقمية. وكانت أبرز النتائج أن درجة وعي الطلاب بالمواطنة الرقمية "مرتفعة جدًا"، بالإضافة إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطات درجات الذكور والإناث، وكذلك بين متوسطات درجات طلاب الكليات النظرية والعملية على إجمالي مقياس الوعي بالمواطنة الرقمية. 
The Extent of Educational Readiness of Using Thinking Skills Strategy among Teachers at the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia: A Field Study (Arts for Educational & Psychological Studies; Vol.5, No.3) Año de publicación: 2023 Autor: Areej Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ansari Autor corporativo: Dhamar University This study aimed to identify educational readiness and willingness of teachers affiliated to the Ministry of Education to use critical thinking in their teaching, in Saudi Arabia. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive survey method was adopted, and a questionnaire was used to collect data from the study sample which consisted of (733) male and female teachers, randomly selected from education directorates of Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran. The questionnaire included three main dimensions;and after testing its validity, and reliability, it was administered to the sample. The study results showed that teachers’ educational readiness scored a high degree of awareness that would allow achieving the goal of teaching by using critical thinking in schools as a teaching strategy approved by the Ministry of Education. The teachers also showed their understanding of the characteristics, skills and educational effects of the application of the critical thinking strategy in schools. The study recommended conducting future studies on the challenges and advantages of applying the critical thinking strategy from the perspective of students and teachers.Keywords: Extent of educational readiness, Critical thinking, Educational effects, School teachers. مدى الاستعداد التربوي لمعلمي وزارة التعليم بالمملكة العربية السعودية للتدريس بمسار التفكير الناقد- دراسة ميدانية (مجلة الآداب للدراسات النفسية والتربوية; Vol.5, No.3) Año de publicación: 2023 Autor: Areej Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ansari Autor corporativo: Dhamar University هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة مدى الجاهزية التربوية لمعلمي وزارة التعليم واستعدادهم للتدريس بمسار التفكير الناقد في المملكة العربية السعودية، حيث وضعت الباحثة ثلاثة أسئلة بحثية. وعلى ضوء هذه الأسئلة، ولأجل تحقيق أهداف الدراسة انتهجت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي المسحي، حيث تمّ اختيار عينة عشوائية من المعلمين والمعلمات في كل من إدارات التعليم بمكة وجدة والطائف والباحة وعسير وجازان ونجران. وبلغ عدد العينة (733) معلما ومعلمة. كما استخدمت الباحثة الاستبانة كأداة للدراسة وقسمت إلى ثلاثة محاور رئيسة، وتم التأكد من صدق الأداة وثباتها من خلال عرضها على عدد من المحكمين المختصين. وأظهرت نتائج البحث أن الجاهزية التربوية لمعلمي وزارة التعليم في المملكة العربية السعودية على درجة عالية من الوعي تسمح بتحقيق الهدف من التدريس بأسلوب التفكير الناقد بمدارس التعليم العام كنظام تعليمي معتمد من الوزارة برز فيه مدى استيعابهم للسمات، والمهارات، والآثار التربوية المستهدفة من تطبيق مسار التفكير الناقد بمدارس التعليم العام بالمملكة العربية السعودية. وأوصت الدراسة بعمل دراسات مستقبلية عن تحديات تطبيق التدريس بمسار التفكير الناقد ومميزات تدريسه من قبل الطلاب والمعلمين.
