Document final de la Consultation technique sur l'éducation à la citoyenneté mondiale: Education à la citoyenneté mondiale: une nouvelle vision Año de publicación: 2013 Autor corporativo: UNESCO This document draws on inputs to, and common perspectives emerging from, a Technical Consultation on Global Citizenship Education organized by UNESCO and the Republic of Korea (i.e., the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and of Education, and the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding) in Seoul on 9-10 September 2013 . Informing this draft document are: a) responses from the expert participants to a questionnaire circulated by UNESCO in advance of the consultation; b) presentations from experts during the consultation; c) discussions during the consultation; and d) reference material contributing to, and prepared for, the consultation. The final draft of this document was prepared by UNESCO’s Division of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development at Headquarters in Paris, with the assistance of a drafting team.

On a personal level, we can all name at least one teacher who made a difference – sometimes to such an extent that it redirected our whole lives. At the international level, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Goal 4 in particular, recognize the importance of teachers in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030. Yet, the profession is being undermined. The development of cognitive neuroscience and the many applications of new technologies in the field of education are forcing the profession to adapt and reinvent itself. Early childhood care and education and education for sustainable development & global citizenship Año de publicación: 2019 Autor corporativo: UNESCO This document brings together the responses to a survey on Early Childhood Care and Education in the context of Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship, initiated by GAP Partner Network 3 on educators, in the framework of preparing the UNESCO 2019 Forum. Key findings A majority of respondents recommend better cooperation, both in sharing of educational resources and in general, between early childhood structures and GAP Key Partners. According to them, the best way to transmit values and teach ESD to children is through play. This must be done in a fun way, in contact with nature. Concerning training, practical and continuous training of childcare educators is requested and recommended. This should facilitate the integration of ESD and global citizenship, as well as provide insights for enhancing the content of teacher education. 
Pan-African High Level Conference on Education, PACE 2018: conference report Año de publicación: 2018 Autor corporativo: African Union | Government of the Republic of Kenya The Pan-African High-level Conference on Education (PACE 2018) was held in Nairobi, Kenya from 25th to 27th April 2018. PACE 2018 was convened by UNESCO, the Government of Kenya and the African Union, with the collaboration of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) and contributions from the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) co-conveners. The initiative to organise the PACE 2018 came in the wake of a number of regional consultations organised in Sub Saharan Africa and the Arab states regions to focus attention on the way forward, following the adoption in 2015 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Education (SDG 4) and of the African Union’s Continental Education Strategy for Africa 2016-2025 (CESA 16-25). Bringing it out in the open: Monitoring school violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression in national and international surveys Año de publicación: 2019 Autor corporativo: UNESCO This technical brief has been developed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to strengthen the routine monitoring of school violence that is based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression (SOGIE). It is informed by best practice from large institutional surveys that have been successfully conducted at the international or national level. The Brief provides recommendations on: • Questions to capture data on the sexual orientation or gender identity of students.• Questions to capture data on school violence that is specifically based on SOGIE. The meeting brought together people representing governments, bilateral and multilateral organizations, regional organizations, civil society organizations (CSOs), research institutes, foundations and the private sector. Consisting of seven sessions, the meeting aimed to review the world’s progress towards EFA and identify policy actions that can accelerate EFA progress, in particular as regards quality education, effective advocacy for education, violent conflicts and education and financing for education. The recommendations of the meeting were to be taken to the tenth meeting of the High Level Group (HLG) on EFA (Jomtien, Thailand, 22–24 March 2011). Composée de sept sessions, la réunion visait à examiner les progrès accomplis dans le monde pour l'EPT et identifier les actions politiques qui peuvent accélérer les progrès de l'EPT, en particulier que l'éducation concerne la qualité, le plaidoyer efficace pour l'éducation, les conflits violents et de l'éducation et le financement de l'éducation. Les recommandations de la réunion devaient être prises à la dixième réunion du Groupe de haut niveau (GHN) sur l'EPT (Jomtien, Thaïlande, 22-24 Mars 2011).
