حقوق الإنسان وحل النزاعات من منظور عملي: الجامعات الفلسطينية نموذجا (ورقة مفاهيمية) Año de publicación: 2023 Autor: Rashad Twam Autor corporativo: Palestinian Jurists Association ما انفكت الجامعات الفلسطينية تشهد بين الحين والآخر، حالات نزاع، كثيرا منها ما تسببت بتعطيل العملية التعليمية. وفيما بعض تلك النزاعات نفذت من خارج أسوار الجامعة، كامتداد لحالات عنف مجتمعية، فبعضها الآخر بالعكس، مصدرها داخل الجامعة، وكادت أن تمتد إلى خارج حرمها، مهددة السلم الأهلي. تعرض هذه الورقة المفاهيمية لهذا الإشكال، فتتناول أشكال تلك النزاعات خلال السنوات الخمسة الماضية (2018-2022)، والمتدخلين في حل هذا النزاعات، ضمن مقاربة التمييز بين منطلقات وأساليب عمل كل من فئة المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان وفئة ممارسي حل النزاعات، وذلك بالتركيز على تجربة جامعة بيرزيت كحالة دراسية. Human Rights and Conflict Resolution: Palestinian Universities as a Case Study (Conceptual Paper) Año de publicación: 2023 Autor: Rashad Twam Autor corporativo: Palestinian Jurists Association Palestinian universities have consistently witnessed occasional conflicts, many of which have resulted in disrupting the educational process. While some of these conflicts originated outside the university walls, as an extension of societal violence, others stemmed from within the university itself, posing a threat to civil peace. This conceptual paper addresses this issue by examining the various forms of these conflicts over the past five years (2018-2022) and the stakeholders involved in resolving them. It adopts a differentiated approach between the perspectives and methodologies of human rights advocates and conflict resolution practitioners, with a focus on the case study of Birzeit University.

Leadership and Active Citizenship Program: A Creative Learning Journey for Undergraduate Students Año de publicación: 2018 Autor corporativo: Berziet University Based on Birzeit University’s conviction and belief in its vision of its role as a pioneering institution with all its components that contribute to knowledge production in its national and global dimensions, and its commitment to its mission through “providing an enlightened and independent environment that allows freedom of thought and expression, is keen on democratic practices and dialogue, and stimulates excellence, creativity, innovation and leadership in education and learning.” To provide the community with competencies and knowledge that would lead change and contribute to its advancement, the Leadership and Active Citizenship Program “Masari” was launched at the beginning of the academic year 2017/2018, to enhance the university’s role in developing a renewed vision for education, and to be an incentive for students to start charting their life path and engaging with their surroundings. From the first day they cross the university's threshold, a co-curricular curriculum is implemented in parallel with the academic programs and curricular and extracurricular activities, and is a major and integral part of their educational career and university experience.The Massari program draws its general intellectual framework from the experience and expertise of Birzeit University in developing the conceptual and programmatic framework for life skills and citizenship education for the Middle East and North Africa, within the framework of a joint regional initiative launched by UNICEF in 2015 in cooperation with countries in the region and international institutions.
