LEARNING to Realize Education’s Promise 단체 저자: World Bank The World Development Report 2018 (WDR 2018)—LEARNING to Realize Education’s Promise—is the first ever devoted entirely to education. And the timing is excellent: education has long been critical to human welfare, but it is even more so in a time of rapid economic and social change. The best way to equip children and youth for the future is to place their learning at the center. The 2018 WDR explores four main themes: 1) education’s promise; 2) the need to shine a light on learning; 3) how to make schools work for learners; and 4) how to make systems work for learning.
Global Education Monitoring Report 2023, Southeast Asia: Technology in Education; A Tool on Whose Terms? 발행 연도: 2023 단체 저자: Global Education Monitoring Report Team | Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Developed in partnership with the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), and with the contribution of EdTech Hub, the fifth regional report focuses on technology in education in Southeast Asia. Characterized by a variety of contexts and resources, Southeast Asia has experienced a rapid growth in digital technology applications. In education, digital technologies have been identified for their potential to transform education and meet the region’s development aspirations. The regional report investigates both challenges and potentials, which technology as a tool and as a process can potentially contribute to, across and within countries, and education levels. The regional report on Southeast Asia covers 11 countries, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Viet Nam. Extensive background research informs the regional analysis: 9 country case-studies compiled by local research teams and independent experts; 5 thematic studies produced by SEAMEO centers on open and distance learning, technology for students with disabilities, integration of technology in teaching practices, key policies issues in ICT in education; technology in technical and vocational education and training, and 3 research inputs on ICT in education practices produced by SEAMEO affiliate members and partners.
Continental Overview: Bridging CESA and SDG 4 in Africa; Africa Regional Report 발행 연도: 2021 단체 저자: UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) Monitoring progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 4 for education (SDG 4) is crucial to ensuring that children around the world have access to a quality education where they can learn and gain the skills they need to meet their full potential. SDG 4 indicators are organized with a view to global, thematic, regional and national targets.This report by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) is the first in a series intended to bring a regional focus to SDG 4 monitoring, highlight the work being done in the regions and compare SDG 4 targets with those established by regional bodies.This new series of regional reports serve two purposes. Firstly, to map regional and SDG 4 targets to provide an overview of the symmetries between the two. Continental Overview: Bridging CESA and SDG 4 in Africa looks at how the strategic objectives of the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA) compares with SDG 4 targets. Secondly, it analyses progress towards these objectives by African sub-regions.

The most vulnerable people have been the most affected by this situation, which widened the preexisting gaps. The countries of the region have carried out great efforts to guarantee the continuity of learning. However, these have been limited by the challenges that this unprecedented crisis brought, aggravated by unequal conditions in access to infrastructure and other resources that affect broad sectors of the population.This report analyzes the possibilities, restrictions and needs that the countries of the region will face during the process of returning to in-person classes, considering five dimensions: (i) safe schools (school infrastructure, access to water and sanitation); (ii) human resources (principals and teachers); (iii) access to ITC and connectivity; (iv) education financing and (v) information and planning.

Las poblaciones más vulnerables se han visto más afectadas por esta situación, lo cual acrecentó las brechas preexistentes. Los países de la región llevaron a cabo enormes esfuerzos para garantizar la continuidad de los aprendizajes. Sin embargo, se ven limitados por los desafíos que presenta este contexto inédito de crisis y agravados por las desiguales condiciones de acceso a infraestructura y otros recursos que afectan a vastos sectores de la población.El reporte analiza las posibilidades, restricciones y necesidades que enfrentarán los países de la región durante el proceso del regreso a las clases presenciales, considerando cinco dimensiones: (i) escuelas seguras (infraestructura escolar, acceso al agua y saneamiento); (ii) recursos humanos (directores y docentes); (iii) acceso a TIC y conectividad, (iv) financiamiento de la educación y (v) información y planificación.
In Solidarity With Girls: Gender and Education in Crisis (Policy Brief Series) 발행 연도: 2020 단체 저자: United Nations Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI) The In Solidarity With Girls: Gender and education in crisis policy brief series was developed through a series of intergenerational dialogues on gender, education and COVID-19. The contents of this paper and its recommendations belong to the young women activists featured in each brief. Drawing on the ‘build back equal’ principle, this brief contributes to policy dialogues and discussions on (1) how we can plan for and work towards more equal, gender-responsive school systems once restrictions are lifted, and (2) achieve this through meaningful partnership with youth and youth-led networks.
