The mainstream of this recognition and accommodation of Siberian cultural diversity – efforts to create opportunities and facilities for culture-specific learning in each region, adapting teaching methods to the requirements of the everyday life of learners with the support of educational policymakers, educational professionals at all levels and local communities. The goal of publication is contributing to raising the awareness of Siberian population in recognizing the cultural dimension as a central pillar of the UNESCO decade «Education for Sustainable Development» (2005-2014). The publication is aimed at teachers, ethnologists, sociologists, linguists, philosophers, those researching the education and culture of peoples in Russia, government specialists, representatives of national-cultural communities of indigenous peoples and ethnic minorities. Final report of the roundtable: challenges of education for peace, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan 발행 연도: 2007 단체 저자: Union Century 21 (Georgia) The Roundtable Meeting was organized in Tbilisi in June, (24 -27) 2007. The meeting gathered participants of the ToT course in all three countries of the Caucasus, which happened to be a sort of “première” given the region’s tensions. It was important to bring together teachers and social workers from 18 regions of Georgia as well as from the neighboring countries like Azerbaijan and Armenia ( a total amount of 40 persons (some travelled at their own expenses). Civil Society was thus well represented and will be involved in project realization with a multiplier effect once they get back to the regions or countries. The tentative programme of the meeting identifies common challenges in this field and setting up of common action plan in addressing them. This was possible with the notable participation of a facilitator and the openness of those who attended this workshop. They were also keen to draw attention to the authorities from their educational systems to implement these grassroots activities so as to attract attention not only on a regional level but on the international level too and inform international organizations about the outcomes as well as the further steps planned.

Camilleri traces the history of the concept of citizenship and its transformation through the ages to modern times. Kamran Mofid argues that the marketplace is not just an economic sphere but one where economic and business interests must embrace the spiritual assets of the community. Majid Tehranian raises the problem of identity and advocates the assumption of global identity, responsibility, and citizenship. Part II, "Convergence in Global Cultures," explores the complex issues of diversity in religions. Christopher Leeds, Vladimir Korobov, and Bharapt Gupt show how the reconceptualization of the world both geographically and regionally can recreate new sensibilities needed to overcome differences. Part III, "Divergence in Global Conflicts," discusses the multiple dimensions of the globalizing effects of economic expansion and political strife experienced by different cultures at local and regional levels. Audrey Kitigawa and Ade Ogunrinade use Nigeria as an example of political manipulation of religious and ethnic groups to divert attention from the real problems of social and economic marginalization. Fred Riggs looks at how the Web has become a medium in the globalization of religious movements.The authors maintain that continuing efforts for dialogue across cultural and religious boundaries in today's interreligious and interfaith organizations can become a force for healing.
