Schools for Conflict or for Peace in Afghanistan 발행 연도: 2015 저자: Dana Burde Cette publication est une analyse de la relation entre l'éducation et les conflits, retraçant l’évolution des motifs mobilisés pour justifier le recours à une aide extérieure en Afghanistan, et le passage d’une politique du laissez faire à celle de soutien à l’effort de guerre, puis aux tentatives d’apaisement du conflit. En s’appuyant sur cet exemple, cet ouvrage analyse comment l'intervention étrangère en matière d'éducation peut aussi bien contribuer à la guerre qu’à la paix.

This book explores the relationship of education to extremism and examines how education could counter its more dangerous forms. Lynn Davies proposes a very different educational strategy to the conventional tolerant multiculturalism that pertains in the west. The task – a challenging one – is to politicize young people without cementing uncritical acceptance of single truths.

APCEIU organized the 1st Global Capacity-Building Workshop on GCED in collaboration with UNESCO in order to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) target 4.7 by enhancing the capacity of teacher educators and trainers in implementing GCED. This intensive 2-week workshop provided the participating educators with the opportunities to better understand the concept and internalize the pedagogical principles of GCED while sharing their experiences and working on collaborative action plans. Security, Extremism and Education: Safeguarding or Surveillance? 발행 연도: 2015 저자: Lynn Davies This article analyses how education is positioned in the current concerns about security and extremism. Initially, a central dilemma is acknowledged: that schooling appears to be simultaneously irrelevant to the huge global questions of security and yet central to the learning of alternative ways to conduct human relations. With regard to extremism, two aspects of importance in ideological compliance or challenge are firstly the attempted securitization of education, and secondly the role of education in young people joining or supporting extremist movements. Educational approaches within transitional justice underline the importance of tackling violence in schools and promoting a human rights culture that promotes both human security and ultimately national security. Dans un premier temps, on reconnait le problème fondamental suivant : à priori, il n’y a aucun rapport entre l'école et la question pressante de la sécurité dans le monde, et pourtant l’école est clé dans l'apprentissage des différents moyens de gestion des relations interpersonnelles. En ce qui concerne l'extrémisme, deux aspects de l’adhésion à une idéologie ou de la défiance sont importants : d'une part les efforts pour sécuriser l'éducation, et d'autre part le rôle de l'éducation vis-à-vis des jeunes rejoignent ou soutiennent des mouvements extrémistes. Les approches éducatives au sein de la justice transitionnelle soulignent l'importance de lutter contre la violence dans les écoles et de promouvoir une culture des droits de l'homme favorisant à la fois la sécurité humaine et la sécurité nationale.
