Jewish Partisan Educational Fund The mission of Jewish Partisan Educational Fund is to develop and distribute effective educational materials about the Jewish partisans and their life lessons, bringing the celebration of heroic resistance against tyranny into educational and cultural organizations. Designed for 6th-12th grades. most materials can be completed in 45-60 minutes. Natural disaster preparedness and education for sustainable development 발행 연도: 2007 단체 저자: UNESCO Bangkok Natural Disaster Preparedness and Education for Sustainable Development provides details of the development of culturally appropriate and locally relevant educational material for natural disaster preparedness that targets key stakeholder groups and integrates Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) principles and strategies. It is expected to develop and strengthen a regional network to implement and further ESD initiatives throughout the region by promoting education for natural disaster preparedness as well as ESD. This will underpin an identified key area of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015: Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to Disasters. The publication articulates the lessons learned by the four in-country project teams (i.e., the Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia and India) and two collaborating organizations (i.e., Asia/Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society) in developing materials in collaboration with community groups in the Asia-Pacific region. It provides insights into effective techniques to develop locally relevant educational materials, and highlights some of the challenges in that field. Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre The Vancouver Holocaust Centre Society was founded in 1983 by survivors of the Holocaust. The founders’ goal was to leave a permanent legacy in the form of the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre devoted to the Holocaust and based on anti-racism education. Online, teachers have access to practical guides for teachers and activities with discovery kits for primary and secondary pupils. Lesson Components from Echoes and Reflections Prepared by the Anti-Defamation League, the USC Shoah Foundation and Yad Vashem, Echoes and Reflections provides educators with the professional development and resources necessary to acquire the necessary knowledge, capacity, and practice to responsibly and effectively teach the Holocaust. Holocaust Educational Trust - Teaching Resources The Holocaust Educational Trust aim is to educate young people from every background about the Holocaust and the important lessons to be learned for today. The Trust works in schools, universities and in the community to raise awareness and understanding of the Holocaust, providing teacher training, an outreach programme for schools, teaching aids and resource material. The Teaching Resources section of the Trust’s website provides free, downloadable lesson plans, classroom resources and guidance documents for teachers. The access to the teaching resources is free, but you need to login to access the materials. It offers a timeline of the Holocaust, a glossary of terms, places and personalities, a History lesson under a "questions/answers" session, information about each Nazi camp (number of deaths, present status...) readings, resources and a list of associations working on this topic.
