Sin embargo, los significados que se le asignan a esta expresión "comodín" son tan variados como cambiantes. Algunos consideran que la diversidad cultural es intrínsecamente positiva, en la medida en que se refiere a un intercambio de la riqueza inherente a cada cultura del mundo y, por ende, a los vínculos que nos unen en los procesos de diálogo e intercambio. Para otros, las diferencias culturales son la causa de que perdamos de vista lo que tenemos en común en cuanto seres humanos y, por lo tanto, constituyen la raíz de numerosos conflictos.Este segundo diagnóstico resulta hoy tanto más digno de crédito cuanto que la mundialización ha aumentado los puntos de interacción y fricción entre las culturas, originando tensiones, repliegues y reivindicaciones en relación con la identidad, en particular de índole religiosa, que se convierten en fuentes potenciales de conflicto. Por consiguiente, el desafío fundamental consistiría en proponer una perspectiva coherente de la diversidad cultural y, por su conducto, aclarar cómo, lejos de ser una amenaza, puede contribuir a las medidas que adopte la comunidad internacional. Éste es el objetivo esencial del presente informe. Yet the meanings attached to this catch-all term are as varied as they are shifting. Some see cultural diversity as inherently positive, insofar as it points to a sharing of the wealth embodied in each of the world’s cultures and, accordingly, to the links uniting us all in processes of exchange and dialogue. For others, cultural differences are what cause us to lose sight of our common humanity and are therefore at the root of numerous conflicts.This second diagnosis is today all the more plausible since globalization has increased the points of interaction and friction between cultures, giving rise to identity-linked tensions, withdrawals and claims, particularly of a religious nature, which can become potential sources of dispute. The essential challenge, therefore, would be to propose a coherent vision of cultural diversity and thereby to clarify how, far from being a threat, it can become beneficial to the action of the international community. This is the essential purpose of the present report. تقرير اليونسكو العالمي: الاستثمار في التنوع الثقافي والحوار بين الثقافات 발행 연도: 2009 단체 저자: UNESCO أن المعاني التي ارتبطت بهذا المصطلح، الذي يكاد يشمل كل شيء، متنوعة تماماً كما أنها كثيرة التغير. فالبعض يعتبر التنوع الثقافي عاملاً ايجابياً في حد ذاته، فهو يدلّ على تقاسم الثروة التي تجسدها كل ثقافة من ثقافات العالم، وبذلك يوضح الروابط التي توحدنا جميعاً في سياق عمليات التبادل والحوار. ويعتبر آخرون أن الفوارق الثقافية هي التي تجعلنا نعجز عن تبيّن إنسانيتنا المشتركة وهي بالتالي تكمن في جذور الكثير من النزاعات. ويصبح هذا التشخيص الأخير أقوى احتمالاً اليوم مع ما نتج عن العولمة من زيادة في نقاط التفاعل والاحتكاك بين الثقافات أدت إلى توترات وانسحابات ومطالبات تتعلق بالهوية، وبخاصة مما له طابع ديني، أصبحت مصادر محتملة للنزاع. ولذا، فإن التحدي الأساسي يتمثل في طرح رؤية منسجمة متماسكة للتنوع الثقافي توضح أن التنوع الثقافي، بدلاً من أن يكون مصدراً للخطر، يمكن أن يفيد العمل على صعيد المجتمع الدولي. وهذا بالذات هو الهدف الأساسي للتقرير الحالي. 
Rethinking Learning: Exploring Different Pedagogical Approaches to Transform Education for Humanity (The Blue Dot Issue 7, 2018) 발행 연도: 2018 단체 저자: Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) In the seventh issue of the Blue Dot, we focus on Rethinking Learning. Amongst various experts, we hear from Andreas Schleicher, Director of Education and Skills and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD); Anneli Rautiainen from the Finnish National Agency for Education as well as Pratik Mehta, Head of Education & Skills, Microsoft India.Further, we present short blogs from the youth about what future education systems mean to them and we hear from Nobel Laureate, Ms Tawakkol Karman on the importance of education for peace.
