The event was co-organized by the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Korea to UNESCO and the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) in collaboration with the Group of Friends for Solidarity and Inclusion with GCED (Afghanistan, Armenia, Austria, Bangladesh, Canada, Colombia, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Senegal and Serbia). This report shares the summary of the event, particularly the presentations on GCED activities implemented by practitioners from Armenia, Austria, Colombia, Jordan, Kenya and the Philippines to influence more GCED programmes/initiatives on various contexts and backgrounds.

History Under Attack: Holocaust Denial and Distortion on Social Media 발행 연도: 2022 단체 저자: UNESCO | United Nations (UN) A new United Nations and UNESCO study together with the support of the World Jewish Congress investigates Holocaust denial and distortion on social media, measuring their extent and nature on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, Twitter and TikTok, at a time when the memory and fundamental facts of the Holocaust are under threat from lies, smears and the spread of violent ideologies. It provides recommendations that governments, online platforms, educators and researchers can implement to counter denial and distortion, prevent antisemitism and uphold human rights.This report aims to provide a wide-ranging assessment of the extent to which Holocaust-related content on social media and online platforms denies its factual basis or distorts the Holocaust by minimizing or misrepresenting its history. The report seeks to identify content that has evaded content moderation (on platforms that seek to remove content which denies and distorts the Holocaust). Perhaps more importantly, it also aims to provide an understanding of how denial and distortion about the Holocaust are communicated by people on online platforms.

Campaign "Social Protections, an Essential Human Right!" 발행 연도: 2021 단체 저자: International Labour Solidarity Centre Around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the inequalities in the individual and collective protection measures that societies had access to face the crisis. Unsurprisingly, we found that not everyone was equal in the face of the pandemic, quite the contrary. Countries with higher rates of social coverage and labor formalization have seen their populations much better prepared and equipped to deal with the aftermath. In contrast, places, where a large number of workers worked in precarious situations, suffered from an increase in the unemployment rate and a much higher rate of contagion.It is therefore with the current pandemic context in mind that the CISO has decided to set up the annual campaign under the theme of social protection for all, to raise awareness among the Quebec public about the precariousness of work. in the South and the North and the importance of social protection floors to protect the most vulnerable workers. Through this campaign, we want to present social protections not as a privilege but as an essential human right for all.
