In response to the urgent need to recover learning losses, countries worldwide have taken RAPID actions to: Reach every child and keep them in school; Assess learning levels regularly; Prioritize teaching the fundamentals; Increase the efficiency of instruction; and Develop psychosocial health and wellbeing. This brief presents regional findings from the 4th round of the Survey on National Education Responses to COVID-19 School Closures (‘joint survey’), administered between April to July 2022, and the Global Education Recovery Tracker (‘GERT survey’), administered between May to July 2022. It examines how countries in the region have progressed in recovering and accelerating learning through the five key policy actions in the RAPID framework. These findings are a follow-up to the 1st round of RAPID data collected in March 2022.

Education in a Post-COVID World: Towards a Rapid Transformation; Mission Recovering Education in Humanitarian Settings Brief 발행 연도: 2023 단체 저자: United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Towards the goal of COVID-19 recovery for crisis-affected children, UNICEF has been implementing the Mission: Recovering Education in Humanitarian Settings programme in 27 countries and across all seven regional offices, with support from the United States government. This programme emerged from Mission: Recovering Education, globally launched in 2021 by UNICEF, UNESCO and the World Bank. To examine how these programme countries have progressed in recovering and accelerating learning through the five key policy actions in the RAPID framework, this brief presents findings from the 4th round of the Survey on National Education Responses to COVID-19 School Closures (‘joint survey’), administered between April to July 2022, and the Global Education Recovery Tracker (‘GERT’), administered between May to July 2022. World Heritage, No.104 발행 연도: 2023 단체 저자: UNESCO As the extended 45th session of the World Heritage Committee begins in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we express our gratitude to our hosts for convening the first in-person Committee since the onset of COVID-19. Surrounded by old friends and young professionals alike, we are reminded that this meeting is more than the sum of important decisions taken. It is a powerful platform where we rekindle the sense of ‘heritage community’ and renew our commitment to heritage. This issue of World Heritage magazine features African heritage leaders who are empowering peers and creating positive ripple effects from Egypt to Mozambique. A report on climate change details the critical benefits provided by World Heritage forests notably through carbon absorption, with one caveat – their capacity will continue to decline unless we act now. A compelling story comes from Havana, Cuba, where a major UNESCO programme Transcultura is blending tangible heritage, intangible practices and contemporary creativity, true to the way culture intersects in the local communities. Readers may notice the new design of this World Heritage magazine, which pays homage to the original iconic look. The first issue in 1996 put a spotlight on the accelerating international cooperation to conserve Angkor, bearing fruit in 2004 with the removal from the List of World Heritage in Danger. Just as the magazine has been a witness to history, it continues to champion the evolving principles of heritage safeguarding. This is why this revamped magazine will centrally feature stories of custodians, innovators and trailblazers, in line with the 'fifth C' (Communities) of the Strategic Objectives. The words by the 80-year-old Havana resident Noemí Moreno should echo with many of us: 'In the end, we are nothing more than a bird that comes and flies away. History is what remains'. And so we get to work together, pooling experience gained over the past five decades of the 1972 Convention and the ancestral knowledge passed down over centuries, to preserve the remnants of history as best as we can. Ce numéro du magazine Patrimoine Mondial présente des responsables africains du patrimoine qui, de l'Égypte au Mozambique, responsabilisent leurs pairs et créent des effets d'entraînement positifs. Un rapport sur le changement climatique détaille les avantages cruciaux offerts par les forêts du patrimoine mondial, notamment par l'absorption du carbone, avec une mise en garde : leur capacité continuera à diminuer si nous n'agissons pas maintenant. Le premier numéro, paru en 1996, a mis en lumière l'accélération de la coopération internationale pour la conservation d'Angkor, qui a porté ses fruits en 2004 avec le retrait du site de la Liste du patrimoine mondial en péril. Tout comme le magazine a été un témoin de l'histoire, il continue à défendre les principes évolutifs de la sauvegarde du patrimoine. C'est pourquoi le nouveau magazine Patrimoine Mondial présentera essentiellement des histoires de gardiens, d'innovateurs et de pionniers, conformément au « cinquième C » (Communautés) des objectifs stratégiques. Les mots de Noemí Moreno, une habitante de La Havane âgée de 80 ans, devraient trouver un écho chez beaucoup d'entre nous : « En fin de compte, nous ne sommes rien d'autre qu'un oiseau qui vient et s'envole. L'Histoire, c'est ce qui reste. » C'est pourquoi nous devons œuvrer ensemble, en mettant en commun l'expérience acquise au cours des 50 dernières années de la Convention de 1972 et les connaissances ancestrales transmises au fil des siècles, afin de préserver au mieux les vestiges de l'histoire. 
New Challenges and Approaches to Regional and Global Security in Central Asia 발행 연도: 2020 단체 저자: Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) On 26 October 2018 in Nur-Sultan, the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan jointly with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Kazakhstan Council on International Relations, with support from the Institute of Diplomacy under the Academy of Public Administration and the Public Opinion Research Institute co-organized an international conference entitled “New Challenges and Approaches to Regional and Global Security in Central Asia”. This compendium, which includes presentations given at the conference by both Kazakhstan’s and foreign participants, explores main regional security threats in Central Asia and ways to address these problems, as well as regional co-operation issues in responding to contemporary challenges. The edition will be of interest to political scientists, international relations experts, civil servants, scholars, educators, university-level students, and broad sections of the public interested in the contemporary development of the region. The edition is published in Russian and English. The paper of Mr. Pal Dunay is written in the English language in the original, the rest of the reports are in Russian. All reports have been translated and edited with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Nur Sultan. Any opinions and recommendations expressed in the materials arising from the conference are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the conference organizers. В данный сборник материалов включены доклады казахстанских и зарубежных участников конференции, раскрывающие основные угрозы безопасности в регионе Центральной Азии и пути решения возникающих проблем, а также актуальные вопросы регионального сотрудничества в реагировании на современные вызовы. Издание предназначено для политологов, экспертов-международников, государственных служащих, научных работников, преподавателей и студентов высших учебных заведений, а также для широкого круга читателей, интересующихся современным развитием региона. Издание публикуется на русском и английском языках. Доклад господина Пал Дунай написан на английском языке в оригинале, остальные доклады на русском языке. Все доклады переведены и отредактированы при содействии Офиса программ ОБСЕ в Нур-Султане. Мнения и рекомендации авторов докладов в рамках конференции принадлежат авторам и не обязательно отражают точку зрения организаторов конференции. 
Multilingual Education in Central Asian Institutions of Higher Education (Journal of Moscow University. Series 20. Currently, in addition to Turkmenistan, the Governments of other Central Asian countries are putting forward strategies for multilingual development that correspond to their own national characteristics. The problems of the development of multilingual education in higher educational institutions of Central Asia are as follows: strong political coloring, lack of qualified teachers, educational materials and funds for education, difficulties in the development of the national language. Проблемы развития полиязычного образования в высших учебных заведениях Центральной Азии заключаются в следующем: сильная политическая окраска, нехватка квалифицированных преподавателей, учебных материалов и денежных средств на образование, трудности в развитии национального языка.
