Education in a Post-COVID World: Towards a Rapid Transformation; Europe and Central Asia Regional Brief 발행 연도: 2023 단체 저자: United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, resulting in disruptions to education at an unprecedented scale. In response to the urgent need to recover learning losses, countries worldwide have taken RAPID actions to: Reach every child and keep them in school; Assess learning levels regularly; Prioritize teaching the fundamentals; Increase the efficiency of instruction; and Develop psychosocial health and wellbeing. This brief presents regional findings from the 4th round of the Survey on National Education Responses to COVID-19 School Closures (‘joint survey’), administered between April to July 2022, and the Global Education Recovery Tracker (‘GERT survey’), administered between May to July 2022. It examines how countries in the region have progressed in recovering and accelerating learning through the five key policy actions in the RAPID framework. These findings are a follow-up to the 1st round of RAPID data collected in March 2022.

During the analysis tables held in June 2023, the prominent speakers gave life to a space for reflection and plural and democratic dialogue, seeking to contribute through conversations to a topic of debate that cannot be postponed in the life of schools, speaking about the current situation of populations historically violated in their fundamental rights, the challenges of inclusive education in the region, experiences in educational care for historically disadvantaged populations and proposals for actions that contribute to educational systems moving towards inclusive education. Changes in Ethiopia's language and educational policy - pioneering reforms? 발행 연도: 2009 저자: Katrin Seidel | Janine Moritz 단체 저자: 16th International Conference of Ethiopian Studies The political changes of the ninety-nineties in Ethiopia were connected with a far-reaching education reform and a transition from the use of only Amharic and English as media of instruction to a system that uses a multi-lingual approach to education. At present 25 local languages are told to be already used at primary level as medium of instruction. Despite the overall success the reform’s main obstacle is overcoming material and professional shortages in view of a growing number of pupils. 
Transforming Education Conference for Humanity: TECH 2017, December 16-18, 2017; Post Event Report 발행 연도: 2018 단체 저자: Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) The three-day Transforming Education Conference for Humanity (TECH) 2017 organised by UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) was held at Novotel Varun Beach, Visakhapatnam City, State of Andhra Pradesh, India from December 16 – 18, 2017. The first edition of TECH focused on digital pedagogies for building peaceful and sustainable societies through 21st century skills, schools and policies, towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, Target 7.TECH 2017 was attended by over 1,700 registered participants (including teachers, educators, learners, policy-makers, technology and gaming experts, amongst others) from 75 countries and witnessed highly engaging deliberations on the future of education, particularly on the innovative methods of teaching using technology.The Conference was generously supported by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, India and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and sponsored by Microsoft India (Education Technology Partner), Samsung India, Dassault Systems, Veative (Immersive Learning Partner) and McGraw Hill (Learning Science Partner). The Knowledge Partners of the Conference included NMIMS, Ubisoft, Quebec Government, ISTE, Social Alpha, EDB and IYC.TECH will be held annually over the next five years with a long term aim of affecting global policy change on the usage of digital pedagogies to render quality and inclusive education for all.

Emerging Horizons: Youth Insights on Climate Change and Breakthrough Solutions; 2024 Leading Minds on Climate Action 발행 연도: 2024 단체 저자: UNICEF Innocenti | United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) This paper shares insights from a participatory foresight workshop designed and facilitated by UNICEF Innocenti in the framework of the Youth4Climate: Sparking Solutions event co-hosted by UNDP and the Government of Italy. This convened 100 youth-led solutions in the areas of climate education, energy, food and agriculture, and urban sustainability. By using the Three Horizons foresight approach, a dialogue was created that delineated the patterns of change young people envisaged, their shared visions for the future, and the high potential innovations they felt could be leveraged to bring that future about. The paper identifies research and policy questions to be further explored by young climate leaders, UNDP, UNICEF, and their partners.
