One in Five Children, Adolescents and Youth is Out of School (UIS Fact Sheet No. 48) 발행 연도: 2018 단체 저자: UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) This fact sheet presents the latest UIS data on education available as of February 2018.Three years after the adoption of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) and the promise to provide universal primary and secondary education, there has been no progress in reducing the global number of out-of-school children, adolescents and youth. As the SDG 4–Education 2030 Steering Committee meets in Paris, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) has released this fact sheet, highlighting trends at the global and regional levels, to inform discussions and provide stakeholders with the data needed to target policies, strategies and resources to get all children, adolescents and youth in school and learning. 
A Policy Review: Building Digital Citizenship in Asia-Pacific through Safe, Effective and Responsible Use of ICT 발행 연도: 2016 단체 저자: UNESCO Bangkok This report is a major output of the project. The policy review described in this report took stock of national policies in 22 Member States in the Asia-Pacific region and assessed the capacity of their education sectors to foster digital citizenship among children aged 0-18.It is encouraging to note from the study that surveyed Member States’ policies to promote ICT opportunities mature alongside policies that address potential risks, at varying levels of policy maturity. However, while the surveyed Member States recognize the importance of equipping children with ICT skills and providing basic infrastructure, the findings indicate that there is much to be done for young learners (e.g. early childhood education and lower primary education) in introducing the concept of safe, effective and responsible use of ICT to their national curriculum as well as to their teacher professional development programmes.

The theory of moral disengagement has been applied to the study of radicalization to violent extremism to explain how individuals can cognitively reconstruct the moral value of violence and carry out inhumane acts. A number of issues relating to the inclusion of religiously inspired violent extremism in the curriculum are raised – definitional, political and educational. 
Youth and the Field of Countering Violent Extremism 발행 연도: 2018 저자: Marc Sommers Most youth are peaceful. Even if the field known as “countering violent extremism” (CVE) did not exist, most young people still would not join a violent extremist organization (VEO). At the same time, the overwhelming majority of people who become violent extremists are youth — most of whom are male. The challenge at the center of CVE is thus an unusual one: identifying the fraction of youth populations most likely to enter a VEO and thwarting that option. This paper investigates that challenge, with analysis featuring interviews with 21 experts and over 400 publications on violent extremism, CVE, and youth. Two correlations inform this work: the direct relationship between nations with “youth bulge” populations and state repression, and the connection between state repression and increased violent extremism, with repressive states usually targeting male youth.

UNESCO is committed to ensuring that all children and young people have access to safe, inclusive, health-promoting learning environments as part of its strategy on education for health and well-being. This synthesis report on school related violence and bullying on the basis of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity or Expression (SOGIE), covering China, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam, was developed to broaden awareness and understanding about this issue, while also identifying best practices and policies. It also aims to mobilize support for advocacy among educators, research institutions, policy makers and activists at the national and regional levels.
