The Achievements and Tasks of the Global Citizenship Education University Course Development Project 발행 연도: 2020 저자: Eegyeong Kim | Soobin Min | Semi Lee | Haeryun Kim 단체 저자: Korean Society of Education for International Understanding (KOSEIU) This study seeks to analyze the achievements and tasks of the 「GCED University Course Development Project」 promoted by APCEIU. Using such research methods as literature review, workshops, and expert consultation, we analyzed the four-year project surrounding course providers, course contents, and student learning and satisfaction. The findings show that the project has heightened universities’ interest in GCED through 33 courses involving 1,572 students from 21 universities. It was also confirmed that a variety of supports allowed students to have meaningful learning experiences. However, large class sizes, disparity among universities, and the absence of performance measuring tools seemed to limit the success of the project. As a strategy for overcoming these limitations, we suggested the tasks in terms of both quantitative and qualitative aspects. 세계시민교육 대학 강좌개설 지원사업의 추진 성과와 과제 발행 연도: 2020 저자: 김이경 | 민수빈 | 이세미 | 김해련 단체 저자: 한국국제이해교육학회 본 연구는 대학 수준에서 세계시민교육 강좌가 개설되어야 한다는 필요에 부응하여, 유네스코 아시아태평양 국제이해교육원에 의해 4년 간 추진된「세계시민교육 강좌개설 지원사업」을 종합적으로 분석하고 과제를 탐색할 목적으로 수행되었다. 문헌 분석, 성과 공유 워크숍 참여, 전문가 자문 등의 연구 방법을 토대로 지원사업을 강좌 개설 측면, 강좌 운영 측면, 강좌의 학습효과 및 만족도 세 가지 영역으로 구분하여 실태와 성과 및 한계를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 지원사업은 총 21개 대학의 학생 1,572명이 참여한 33개 강좌를 통해서 세계시민교육에 대한 대학들의 관심도를 제고하고, 다양한 주제와 교수진, 교수학습방법으로 학생들에게 의미 있는 학습 경험을 제공한 성과를 거둔 것으로 확인하였다. 그러나 강의 규모의 제약, 대학 간 격차, 학습효과 관리 도구의 미흡 등은 성과를 제약하는 한계점으로 분석되었다. 이후 세계시민교육이 지속가능한 방식으로 발전하기 위해 필요한 과제를 사업의 양적 확산 방안과 질적 내실화 방안으로 구분하여 제시하였다. 
평화를 향한 유네스코의 역할 발행 연도: 2019 저자: 강인욱 | 김성해 | 김지현 | 성지은 | 유성상 | 조동준 | 최동주 | 한경구 단체 저자: 유네스코한국위원회 평화를 위한 유네스코의 국제적인 지적 협력 활동은 교육과 문화 분야에서는 상당한 가시적 성과를 거두었다. 이 과정에서 문제점도 발견되고 한계도 드러나고 정치화되었다는 비판도 받았지만, 교육과 문화의 영역에서 유네스코는 국제적 협력과 활동의 방향을 설정하거나 논의를 주도하고 이끌어가는 모습을 보이고 있다.유네스코가 평화를 위한 기구이면서도 평화와 관련하여 폭넓고 다양하며 깊이 있는 새로운 연구와 실천을 적극적으로 주도하지 못한 것은, 냉전이라는 국제정치적 요인을 감안하더라도 매우 안타까운 일이다. 유네스코는 평화를 위하여 만들어진 국제기구이면서도 전후에 평화와 관련된 학술적 논의와 이론의 발전을 주도하지 못했다. ‘평화의 문화’ 개념이 처음 언급된 것은 1989년 코트디브아르에서였고, 1997년이 되어서야 유네스코가 ‘Toward a Culture of Peace Program 을 시작하였으며, 유엔총회가 2000 년을 ‘평화의 문화의 해로 선언했다.유네스코의 이러한 상황은 한국이 보다 적극적인 역할을 할 기회를 제공한다. 한국은 과거 와 같이 기회가 있을 때마다 국위를 선양하는 수준의 상황추수적(狀況追隨的) 대응에 매몰되거나, 좁은 시야로 단기적 국익을 추구하는 소극적인 입장을 탈피할 필요가 있다. 오히려 대국적 견지에서 세계 평화와 인류의 행복이라는 지구 공동체(Global Community) 전체의 이익을 중시하고, 이틀 장기적 국가이익과 동일시하며, 이에 상응하는 재정 부담을 감수함으로써 세계시민권력(Global Citizenship Power)을 추구하면서 국제적 지위의 향상과 도덕적 지도력을 증대 시킬 수 있을 것이다. 
Better Life for Girls through GCED: Unheard Stories of Our Girls 2: Girl's Education: Brighter Future for All 발행 연도: 2016 단체 저자: APCEIU The "Better Life for Girls through GCED: Unheard Stories of Our Girls" series depict stories of girls from different parts of the world. Coming from Africa and Asia, 25 educators have written stories about their girls during the programme to share with readers all over the world. As the title implies, these series are about real people living on the fringes of society especially girls in their neighbor having challenges on their way to access quality education.

The book contains photos taken by the students and photographers of Asia and the Pacific who have taken part in the Class from 2006 to 2019. 
평생교육시대, 교사의 의미 탐색: 플라톤의 교육사상을 중심으로 (한국교원교육연구 제36권 제3호) 발행 연도: 2019 저자: JiSuk Huh 단체 저자: Korean Society for the Study of Teacher Education 본 연구는 평생교육시대의 변화에 부합하는 교사의 모습에 대한 재탐색이 필요하다는 문제의식 하에, 플라톤의 교육사상을 중심으로 교사의 본질적 의미와 역할에 대해 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 UNESCO 평생교육의 네 가지 원리를 근거로 학교의 안팎의 변화와 교사의 역할이 어떻게 요구되고 있는지를 고찰하였다. 다음으로 플라톤의 관점에서 바라본 소피스트, 소크라테스, 플라톤의 철인, 동굴의 비유에 대해 살펴본 후, 플라톤이 제시한 교사상이 오늘날 평생교육시대에서 어떤 의미와 가치가 있는지 밝히고, 그 속에 내포된 교사로서의 역할과 의미를 구체적으로 탐색하였다.연구결과, 평생교육시대의 교사의 역할은 점점 더 중요해지고 있으나 이는 단순히 안내자, 조언자로서의 단순한 역할 변화를 의미하는 것이 아니다. 평생교육시대 교사의 변화된 모습은 지식전달자로부터 삶을 풍성하게 살아가기 위한 윤리적 훈련가로, 교사-학생의 관계에서 벗어나 대화와 토론을 통한 공동의 학습자로, 학습소외, 학습 불평등 가운데 포용적 교수의 실천가로, 열망을 가지고 끊임없이 배우는 생성적 존재로 모색된다. 이를 통해 오늘날 추락하는 교권과 학습권의 자리다툼 가운데 기존 교사의 역할을 넘어 교사가 지닌 새로운 가능성과 의미에 대해 시사점을 제안하였다. In the Age of Lifelong Education, a Study on the Meaning of Teachers: Focused on the Plato’s Thought (The Journal of Korean Teacher Education; Vol. 36, No. 3) 발행 연도: 2019 저자: 허지숙 단체 저자: 한국교원교육학회 The purpose of this study is to explore the essential meaning and role of teachers through Plato's educational thought. For this purpose, based on the four principles of UNESCO Lifelong Education, we examine how changes in and out of school and the role of teachers are required. Then, after reviewing Sophist, Socrates, Plato's Philosopher, and the metaphors of Cave from Plato's point of view, it reveals what meaning and value of the teacher image presented by Plato in today's lifelong education.Research shows that the role of teachers in the age of lifelong education is becoming more and more important, but this does not mean simply changing roles as guides and advisors. the changed face of the teacher is an ethical trainer to enrich their lives from a knowledge transferer, a collaborative learner through conversations and discussions outside the teacher-student relationship, a practitioner of inclusive teaching among learning alienation, learning inequality, a teacher as a lifelong learner who loves wisdom. This suggests implications for teachers 'new possibilities and meanings beyond the existing teacher' s role in the fall of the ruling right and the right of learning. 
Critical Understanding on Shrinkage and Limitation of UK’s Global Citizenship Education in the Era of Brexit (Journal of Education for International Understanding; Vol. 13, No. 2) 발행 연도: 2018 저자: Jinhee Kim 단체 저자: Korean Society of Education for International Understanding (KOSEIU) This study aims to analyze the shrinkage and limitation of Global Citizenship Education in the epoch of Brexit. It also attempts to examine a feature of positioning and direction of Global Citizenship Education which is confronted with a sceptical criticism of its' educational impact. In this vein, the major findings and arguments showed the practice and implementation of Global Citizenship Education under the pressure of Brexit faces complicated challenges across Europe including UK, since Brexit highly pursues national centred hegemony and nationalistic bloc. It could hinder the structural restriction of implementing of Global Citizenship Education in UK. Apparently, this study indicated that the phenomenon of Brexit and it's impact is functioning as dynamic learning contents, not for a teaching-learning resource. It has been discussed that Citizens of UK have strived to deal Brexit as a learning experience in life-world. Finally, this study suggests a direction to move forward of Global Citizenship Education in an ever-shrinking world of Brexit. 브렉시트 시대 영국의 세계시민교육 위축과 제약 분석: 세계시민교육이 나아갈 방향 (국제이해교육연구; Vol. 13, No. 2) 발행 연도: 2018 저자: 김진희 단체 저자: 한국국제이해교육학회 이 논문은 영국의 브렉시트 결정 이후 세계시민교육이 어떤 맥락에서, 어 떤 쟁점과 이슈로 위축되고 있는지를 살펴보고 세계시민교육의 위상을 다시 고찰하는 논문이다. 국가중심의 블록화를 추진하는 브렉시트는 세계시민교 육과 어떤 관계를 가지는지 이것이 세계시민교육의 발전과 제약에 미치는 관계가 무엇인지 파악하고 영국 사례가 세계시민교육 실천 과정에 주는 시 사점을 분석하고자 한다. 또한 영국의 브렉시트 사태는 ‘가르침’으로서 세계시민교육의 교과서(text) 문건으로 치부되는 아니라, 시민들이 학습 주 체로서 탈(脫)유럽화라는 이슈를 자기 앞에 당도한 삶의 경험으로 이해하고 대응하면서, 브렉시트라는 사태가 살아있는 세계시민교육의 내용(content) 으로 된다는 점을 논의하였다. 이 연구를 통해서 오늘날 흔들리는 세계시민 교육의 위상과 향후 방향성을 반성적으로 고찰하였다.
