Les notions du vivre-ensemble dans les manuels scolaires de l’enseignement de base en Côte d’Ivoire et leurs perceptions par les acteurs 발행 연도: 2013 저자: Goïta Ouattara Kanndanan Insiata 단체 저자: McGill University. Faculty of Education Cet article se propose d’une part de mettre en relief les notions du vivre ensemble contenues dans les manuels scolaires de l’enseignement de base en Côte d’Ivoire. D’autre part, il identifie les supports utilisés pour leur enseignement et leurs perceptions par les formateurs et les apprenants. Pour répondre à ces préoccupations, la méthodologie a consisté en une analyse de contenu des manuels scolaires et guides-programmes en vigueur; puis à celle des entretiens réalisés avec les acteurs. Les résultats obtenus montrent que la solidarité, la paix, la tolérance, la discipline et l’alliance interethnique sont entre autres, des notions enseignées pour préparer l’esprit des futurs potentiels acteurs sociopolitiques à adopter un comportement de paix. D’ailleurs, ces notions sont perçues positivement par les acteurs et les bénéficiaires.

The Ideology of the Rights of Children and the Reality in Sub-Saharan Africa: What Are the Mobilizing Paradigms? 발행 연도: 2017 저자: Étienne Kola 단체 저자: Éthique en éducation et en formation Human rights are a heritage of humanity. The ideology that underpins it is based on a humanist presupposition that makes a constant imprescriptible human dignity. The rights of the child which are a specific application of the human rights are often massive violations that offend the common sense. The situation in sub-saharian Africa is still disturbing that poverty, armed conflict and certain socio-cultural heaviness are stumbling blocks to the effective enjoyment of rights by children. The consequences of the violations all azimuths of these rights are so heavy to amount to a human and social tragedy in this continent. Strategies for eradication of this phenomenon require activation of the legal mechanisms and operational law enforcement but also the integration of the humanistic, personalistic and Existentialist rationalities in the African educational systems. Ethical and humanistic thoughts could influence even the most rigid minds. L’idéologie qui les sous-tend repose sur un présupposé humaniste qui fait de la dignité humaine une constante imprescriptible. Les droits de l’enfant qui sont une application particulière des droits de l’homme connaissent des violations souvent massives qui heurtent le bon sens. La situation en Afrique subsaharienne est d’autant préoccupante que la précarité, les conflits armés et certaines pesanteurs socioculturelles constituent des pierres d’achoppement à la jouissance effective des droits par les enfants. Les conséquences des violations tous azimuts de ces droits sont si pesantes au point de constituer un drame humain et social dans ce continent. Les stratégies d’éradication de ce phénomène exigent non seulement l’activation des mécanismes juridiques et répressifs opérationnels mais aussi l’intégration des rationalités humaniste, personnaliste et existentialiste dans les systèmes éducatifs africains. La teneur éthique et humaniste de ces pensées pourrait infléchir même les esprits les plus rigides. 
The Contribution of Teachers to the Relevance of Basic Education in West Africa: The Case of Senegal 발행 연도: 2016 저자: Thibaut Lauwerier 단체 저자: McGill University. Faculty of Education This paper seeks to understand the contribution of teachers to quality basic education in Senegal, with a particular focus on the concept of education “relevance.” After a detour looking at the characterization of the concepts of quality and relevance, we contextualize the situation of teachers in Senegal, then present the benefits of exploring the links between these concepts and the teacher issue. From a methodological point of view, the data mainly come from interviews and observations. It is clear from our analysis that, in general, teachers are not in a position to enable relevant education. However, the research highlights some factors that enhance relevance. Faculty of Education Cet article vise à comprendre quelle est la contribution des enseignants à une éducation de base de qualité au Sénégal, avec un accent particulier sur le concept d’éducation « pertinente ». Après avoir fait un détour par la caractérisation des concepts de qualité et de pertinence, nous contextualisons la situation des enseignants au Sénégal, puis nous présentons l’intérêt d’explorer les liens entre ces concepts et la question enseignante. D’un point de vue méthodologique, les données proviennent essentiellement d’entretiens et d’observations. Il ressort de nos analyses que les enseignants de manière générale ne sont pas en capacité de permettre une éducation pertinente. Toutefois, cette recherche met en avant certains facteurs favorables à plus de pertinence. 
Citizen Participation in Mali: Between Associative Mobilization and Political Engagement 발행 연도: 2014 저자: Mathias Kuepie | Arouna Sougane 단체 저자: Lien social et Politiques In this study we examine citizen engagement in Mali. We begin by discussing the concept of civil society associated with such engagement. We then draw on two sources of data (the 2006 light integrated household survey [ELIM] and the national election administrative reports) to analyse involvement in political and community life. The results show that even if most Malians have already taken part in political activities, only a small minority has actually ever voted, which is a crucial form of political participation. Another finding that raises questions is that the advantaged social groups are those that participate more in political activities, whereas the less advantaged are more likely to become involved in community life through associations. Lastly, participation in associations seems to encourage political participation, most probably because community involvement can awaken political consciousness, but also no doubt because involvement in associations can help increase one’s political influence. Pour ce faire, nous commençons par discuter du concept de la société civile qui lui est associé. Ensuite, nous mobilisons deux sources de données (les données de l’Enquête légère intégrée auprès des ménages maliens de 2006 et les rapports administratifs des élections nationales) afin d’analyser la participation à la vie politique et associative. Les résultats montrent que même si la plupart des Maliens ont déjà participé à des activités politiques, la participation aux scrutins, qui constitue un moment majeur, n’est que l’apanage d’une faible minorité. Un autre résultat interpellant est que ce sont les catégories sociales favorisées qui participent plus aux activités politiques alors que les moins favorisées sont plus nombreuses à participer à la vie associative. Enfin, la participation associative semble favoriser la participation politique, sûrement parce que participer à des activités associatives peut faire émerger la conscience politique, mais aussi probablement parce que participer à des associations peut permettre d’accroître son influence politique. 
Citizenship and Citizenship Education: Gabonese Secondary School Teachers’ Point of Views 발행 연도: 2013 저자: René Casimir Zoo Eyindanga 단체 저자: McGill University. Faculty of Education The purpose of this paper is to identify the meanings that secondary school teachers (male and female) in Gabon give to citizenship and citizenship education. Sixty teachers, many of whom teach citizenship education, were surveyed. Set against a background of new social demands, the context of democracy is discussed, the latter requiring a renewed critical look at citizenship education in schools. The points of view expressed by the teachers taking part in the study echo their personal and professional experiences. Although open to participation, they reflect a normative conceptualization of citizenship education as well as an obligation to ensure a stronger citizenship education despite social and educational obstacles.
