Informe Mundial de Cultura de Paz: Informe de la sociedad civil en la mitad del Decenio de Cultura de Paz 발행 연도: 2005 단체 저자: Foundation for a Culture of Peace El año 2005 marca la mitad del Decenio Internacional de una cultura de paz y no violencia para los niños del mundo (2001-2010), tal y como proclamó la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas.Este informe se ha presentado al Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas para la consideración de la Asamblea General en su 60º periodo de sesiones dentro del punto del orden del día donde se examinarán los primeros cinco años del Decenio de una Cultura de Paz. Esta iniciativa responde a la invitación recogida en el párrafo operativo 10 de la resolución A/59/143 de la Asamblea General.El informe se basa en la información presentada por 700 organizaciones provenientes de todas las regiones del mundo. De toda la información recibida, se puede concluir que la cultura de paz está avanzando.El informe proporciona la primera visión exhaustiva del progreso hecho por el movimiento global por una cultura de paz, desde que fue proclamado en 1999 por la Asamblea General en su resolución A/53/243 (anexada al presente informe). تقرير عن ثقافة السلام في العالم 발행 연도: 2005 단체 저자: Foundation for a Culture of Peace أعلنت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة العقد الدولي من أجل ثقافة للسلام وعدم العنف ضد أطفـال العـالم خلال الفترة 2001 – 2010 قرارها 53/25 بتاريخ 10 نوفمبر 1998 .وعلاوة على ذلك، أقرت الجمعية العامة سنة 1999 إعلان وبرنامج عمل من أجل ثقافة السلام.وفي سنة 2000 أنشئت مؤسسة ثقافة السلام دف الإسهام بناء وتدعيم ثقافة السلام مـن خـلال التفكير، والبحوث، والتعليم، والعمل الموقع. وقد تابعت المؤسسة بنشاط تنفيذ إعلان وبرنامج عمل الأمم المتحدة والأنشطة التي نفذت أثناء العقد الدولي.وبناء على ذلك، أعدت المؤسسة، طبقً للقرار 59 / 143 بتاريخ 15 ديسمبر 2004 التقرير العـالمي الحالي عن ثقافة السلام وقدمته إلى الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لكي تنظر فيه الجمعية العامة. ويضم هذا الكتيب تقرير اتمع المدني منتصف عقد ثقافة السلام. وهو يتضمن معلومات جمعتها وقدمتها ما يقرب من 700 منظمة على مستوى العالم وهي التي حللت الأنشطة التي نفذت لتعزيز ثقافة السلام وعدم العنف وكذلك التقدم الذي تحقق أثناءالنصف الأول من العقد الدولي.ويوضح الكتيب المعوقات التي اعترضت تنفيذ القيم التي تضمنها الإعلان وبرنامج العمل. كمـا ذكـرت الجمعية العامة مراراً، فإ الدول الأعضاء تزال مدعوة تواصل إعطاء مزيد من التركيز وتوسـيع أنشـطتها الداعمة لثقافة السلام وعدم العنف على المستويات الوطنية، والإقليمية، والدولية. 
Final Report: 2016 UNESCO/KOICA Joint Fellowship Programme 발행 연도: 2016 단체 저자: APCEIU This report provides an overview of the activities carried out during the 2016 UNESCO/KOICA Joint Fellowship Programme held in Republic of Korea from 1 September - 31 October, 2016.In its 10th year of implementation, UNESCO/KOICA Joint Fellowship Programme 2016 invited 25 educators from 17 countries in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region for two months; from September 1st to October 31st. The overarching goal of the Programme was to enhance the capacities of participating educators under the themes of “Teacher Training for Basic Education,” “Use of ICT for Education (or e-Learning),” “Leadership in Global Education” and “Girls’ Education.” Composed of various segments such as lectures, workshops, hands-on activities, and seminars, which were closely interlinked with each module, the modules were designed to enable the participants to reorient their perspectives on educational development, to gain essential knowledge and skills, and furthermore to produce meaningful and relevant outputs that could be widely applied in their local contexts.For more information, please contact APCEIU's Office of Education and Training at ent@unescoapceiu.org. 
Global Citizenship Concepts in the Curricula of Four Countries 발행 연도: 2017 저자: Natalie Browes 단체 저자: UNESCO International Bureau of Education (IBE) | APCEIU This report details the presence of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) concepts in the education systems of four countries: Cambodia, Colombia, Mongolia and Uganda. It highlights the main findings of eight reports: four expert reports, which predominately analyse curriculum content, and four situational analysis reports, which take a broader view and detail some of the country-specific challenges and opportunities with regard to GCED. Findings reveal the presence of GCED concepts across the curricula of the four countries. In addition to cognitive content related to GCED, competency-based content is also found present within the curricula of these countries. However, the majority of this content can only be indirectly linked to GCED, and it is better interpreted as part of the more traditional civics or citizenship education approach. As such, it generally lacks a global perspective and does not engage with all key themes of GCED. Furthermore, this content is often concentrated at the lower and upper secondary levels, instead of being equally distributed across all grade levels. This is particularly true in the case of behaviour-based competencies. Findings also reveal challenges beyond the curriculum. These include lack of teacher training and lack of support to implement GCED, which are concerns expressed by stakeholders in all four countries. A lack of GCED content in textbooks and lack of supplementary materials were also found to be issues. The report concludes with recommendations regarding the effective implementation of GCED within curricula. Among others, the report suggests the transversal integration of GCED - across the curriculum at all grade levels, while at the same time, actors from all levels of the education system, ranging from central government to teachers, should be engaged to ensure the use of complementary learning materials, pedagogies and assessment techniques. 
EIU Best Practices Series No. 49: GCED for Social Justice and Development; A Case from Uganda 발행 연도: 2018 단체 저자: APCEIU Creating a peaceful, trusting and supportive learning environment is a strong driver for a nation’s sustainable development. Any society whose citizens have no cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioral values like respect for self and humanity, is doomed for chaos. The concepts of Education for International Understanding(EIU) and Global Citizenship Education(GCED) in this programme emerge from the need for harmonious living in the society. Sustainable human and economic development is built upon the successful dissemination and implementation of EIU/GCED practices. To understand this better, let’s use the analogy of a bird that gains its momentum to fly from its feet, lungs and wings.The contributor uses this analogy to illustrate that EIU/GCED is the foundation that exerts momentum for social development.The contributor saw it necessary that for any sustainable development to flourish in Ugandan society, pragmatic values have to be perfectly blended with public awareness for they serve as the foundation of all economic, social, cultural and political efforts. The national value system should be based on a strong foundation on which all national efforts are rooted. The social aspirations of the citizens should be the ones that propel development needs and national priorities.To effect sustainable development, we need to see schools as strategic intervention points. Recent times have, however, witnessed that the level of discipline and value inculcation gradually declined to near extinction. The distortion of the social setting that inculcated the ethical values in the young generation has called for a need to remedy the gap. The EIU/GCED is strategically tailored to inculcate Table of Contents moral principles and values in the children through the direct contact and support of the teachers of Early Childhood Development (ECD), both primary and postprimary levels.The Nakaseke Core Primary Teachers’ College (PTC) is mandated to mainstream and promote the social uprightness of the community being a primary stakeholder in the integration of EIU/GCED in the Ugandan Primary Schools (PS) and Primary Teachers Education (PTE) Curriculum. Consequently, the training programmes were designed to enhance the capacity of PTC’s administrators, tutors and support staff, pre-service student teachers, district education officers and primary school teachers to inculcate the EIU/GCED moral values and principles among the learners. Students are then expected to apply EIU/GCED principles to their families and communities, and uphold the values of integrity, honesty, justice, responsibility, respect for humanity, hard work, unity and creativity. 
Inaugural Meeting of the GCED Actors' Platform: Final Report 발행 연도: 2020 단체 저자: APCEIU This final report gives an overview of discussions and outcomes from the “Inaugural Meeting of the GCED Actors’ Platform” on 2 September 2019 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, held back-to-back with the 4th International Conference on GCED (3-4 September 2019, Seoul) In line with the call for closer collaboration on GCED inter-regionally, the GCED Actors’ Platform was launched by UNESCO Headquarters and APCEIU in 2019. Convening regional coordinators and different partners working on GCED, the “Inaugural Meeting of the GCED Actors’ Platform” provided an open space for the participants to discuss ways to coordinate activities and promote synergies.The regional representatives have imparted their own experiences and challenges on the ground and shared best practices of facilitating GCED. 
The GCED Actors' Platform and the Regional GCED Networks Initiative: Activating Partnerships for Global Citizenship Education 발행 연도: 2020 단체 저자: APCEIU This brief publication introduces and summarizes the flagship GCED Network initiatives supported by APCEIU implemented globally and regionally.UNESCO Headquarters and APCEIU co-convened the launch of the GCED Actors’ Platform in which gathered key partners across the globe and representing five Regional GCED Networks. These five Regional GCED Networks include Sub-Saharan Africa, Arab States, Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America, and Latin America and the Caribbean are formed to identify regional priorities and implement regional strategies to promote GCED. The publication also showcases successful independent activities by organizations part of the GCED Network initiative.

Global Citizenship Education (GCED) aims to empower learners to assume active roles to face and resolve global challenges and to become proactive contributors to a more peaceful, tolerant, inclusive and secure world.Education is the most important tool for equipping young people, our future generation of leaders, with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to tackle prejudice and hostility, and to build more peaceful, tolerant and equitable societies. While there are different understandings and manifestations of GCED in different countries, GCED in its various forms is fast becoming an important and necessary component of education systems in sub-Saharan Africa and across the world.The commitment of actors around the world to promoting GCED has contributed highly to the development of GCED, including raising awareness and catalysing action. Furthermore, this has led to the incorporation of GCED in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Target 4.7, which captures the clear call for an education that addresses the needs of the twenty-first century, empowering learners to act towards a more peaceful, just, inclusive and sustainable world.GCED reflects the aim of education to go beyond just access and ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong opportunities for all’ in the next fifteen years.UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa (ROSA) and the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) invited partners across Africa for the 2017 Sub-Saharan Africa GCED Regional Network Meeting on 6–7 April 2017 in Johannesburg. The meeting was designed to jumpstart the formation of the Africa Regional GCED Network, map different GCED programmes in the region, and explore areas of possible collaboration in light of solidifying regional action on GCED. 
Global Citizenship Education Tools and Piloting Experiences of Four Countries: Cambodia, Colombia, Mongolia and Uganda 발행 연도: 2018 저자: Opertti Renato | Hyekyung Kang | Magni Giorgia 단체 저자: UNESCO International Bureau of Education (IBE) | APCEIU This report analyses the progresses made by Cambodia, Colombia, Mongolia and Uganda in the development and piloting of GCED tools, designed within the framework of UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU)’s and International Bureau of Education (IBE)’s three-year cooperation project, “Global Citizenship Education Curriculum Development and Integration”. Based on the needs identified through the situational analyses carried out during Phase I, the four countries have developed tailored tools to mainstream GCED in their own context and piloted them during Phase II. Through an in-depth analysis of the tools as well as of their piloting processes, this report aims at understanding the extent to which GCED concepts are embedded and integrated into these tools and the way in which these tools contribute to the overall GCED teaching and learning practices in each context. What results from the findings is that the four countries, despite some setbacks due mainly to the strict timeline, have made significant progress in developing innovative strategies to integrate GCED principles into their education policies and practices. Finally, this report concludes with the suggestions for these tools to be effectively implemented during Phase III, particularly for this project, and for any further initiative around GCED areas. 
Global Citizenship Education in Southern Africa: Learning to Live Together - the Role of Teachers; Report of a Networking Meeting 발행 연도: 2019 단체 저자: UNESCO Harare | APCEIU This is a report on the second GCED networking meeting held from 28 to 29 October 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa. It took stock of GCED in the region and discussed how GCED is and could be integrated in curricula and teacher education in the Southern African context to strengthen and expand the existing networks of GCED stakeholders and partners.
