The region currently has 42 World Heritage sites and 24 Living Heritage elements inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage and Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists, making it a vibrantly rich home to cultural diversity and human creativity. Schools as Hubs for Social and Emotional Learning Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Schools are perfect hubs for social and emotional learning, but are they ready for this task? To address this question, this Spotlight reports previously unpublished findings from the OECD’s Survey on Social and Emotional Skills (SSES) and discusses their implications for education policy and practice. Both an active promotion in schools and extensive learning opportunities for teachers on relevant topics provide a fertile ground for an effective social and emotional education. They boost teachers’ self-efficacy and use of active learning pedagogies, as well as quality relationships at school. The Spotlight also points to important differences for teachers of 10- vs. 15-year-old students that can explain higher skills at a younger age. Younger students benefit more often from key elements of an effective social and emotional education in school, i.e. the evaluation of their social and emotional skills and teachers teaming up with parents to reinforce skill promotion. Teachers of 10-year-olds are also more intensively trained and requested to promote social and emotional learning in their work.

The Articulation of Organizational Levels During Interactions of International Students: Current Situation in Various Regions of Quebec (Canada) 발행 연도: 2020 저자: Jorge Frozzini 단체 저자: Alterstice This introduction to the thematic issue presents the state of interactions between international students (IS) and the social agents who rub shoulders with them in various regions of Quebec (Canada) as well as in a locality in Bulgaria. They also propose a theoretical framework that focuses on the articulation of three organizational levels affecting the interactions of IS and therefore their resocialization. This framework also pays particular attention to the management technologies that come into play from the first moments when IEs show their desire to study elsewhere until the moment they leave or settle in the new environment. Intercultural encounters in a context where there is an increase in the presence of IEs are thus influenced by the subtleties of the shaping of social relations, which are favored by the articulations of these organizational levels and the coordination made possible by the management technologies in question. a place to ensure control and follow-up (surveillance) with IEs.
