Education and Cultural Diversity Lessons from Innovative Practice in Latin America 발행 연도: 2008 저자: Carolina Hirmas R. 단체 저자: UNESCO Santiago This publication, which is the second volume of the collection, is the result of analysis and reflection on a series of innovative educational experiences from several Latin American countries, which respond with pedagogical relevance to the students' cultural context and offer an education oriented towards knowledge, understanding and dialogue between people of different cultures. The significant contribution of the aforementioned experiences lies in the recognition and appreciation of the ethnic and cultural diversity of its students and communities, as a starting point for the development of new learning and affirmation of their identity. In turn, life in educational centers promotes intercultural relations of respect and fraternity in a local and subregional sociogeographic context, characterized by multiculturalism.

Está dirigida principalmente -aunque no de manera exclusiva, por supuesto- a todas aquellas personas que sean parte de procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje formales e informales. Es importante enfatizar que la Guía no pretende ser un recetario para una aplicación mecánica, sino una caja de herramientas que cada comunidad educativa puede usar considerando su contexto específico, sus necesidades particulares y sus potencialidades. 
IX and X Days of Educational Cooperation with Iberoamerica on Special Education and Educational Inclusion 발행 연도: 2015 단체 저자: UNESCO Santiago This publication includes the main presentations made by experts in educational inclusion presented at the IX and X Conference on Educational Cooperation with Ibero-America on special education and educational inclusion, held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia (2012) and Santa Cruz, Bolivia ( 2013), respectively. The workshops have been organized by the Ministry of Education of Spain with the support of the Regional Office of Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC / UNESCO Santiago). We hope that this publication will contribute to the dissemination of the reflections that RIINEE has developed on critical issues in the field of the educational inclusion of people with disabilities and / or special educational needs, and in this way, constitute a contribution to advance in the guarantee of the rights indicated in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, approved in 2006 by the Member States of the United Nations Organization.

This report is a contribution to the discussion of the Dialogue on Formation for Democracy and Secondary Education in Latin America. In this text, we present an analysis of the results of a survey on education for democracy carried out as part of the activities of the Education Network, which was sent by the Bank to the member countries of the Dialogue2. We frame these results in a conceptualization of what it means to educate for democracy. We complement the discussion with information from additional sources that illuminate different aspects of the conceptual framework proposed here. The document explains that the education of sexuality is closely related to understanding, reflection and discernment, and strengthens the bases for lifelong learning, preparing young people for adult life. Se trata de capacidades más que de contenidos, las que deben desarrollarse en forma interdisciplinaria y de manera progresiva para que las personas actúen de forma responsable respecto a ellas mismas y con los demás. El documento explica que la educación de la sexualidad está íntimamente relacionada con la comprensión, la reflexión y el discernimiento, y fortalece las bases para el aprendizaje a lo largo de la vida, preparando a los jóvenes para la vida adulta. Es así que el enfoque se centra en alcanzar un desarrollo y bienestar humano sostenible.

Within this framework, UNESCO Santiago has its own instrument that allows delivering diagnosis and analysis in depth about the learning inequality within the region; the Thrid Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study, TERCE - carried out by the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education, LLECE, body bringing together 15 countries and coordinated by our Office. 
Global Citizenship Education in Latin America and the Caribbean: Towards a World without Walls: Global Citizenship Education in the SDG 4 - E2030 Agenda 발행 연도: 2018 단체 저자: UNESCO Santiago The Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Network Meeting on Global Citizenship Education “Towards a World without Walls: Global Citizenship Education in SDG 4 – Agenda E2030”, was organized by the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC / UNESCO Santiago) and the Asia – Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU), in collaboration with the Chilean Observatory of Educational Policies (OPECH) of the University of Chile. The event, held on October 23 and 24, 2017, in Santiago, Chile, brought together regional researchers, members of civil society organizations and activists, educational communities, social movements, government educational authorities and universities. The objective of the meeting was to promote dialogue on the concept of Global Citizenship Education (GCED), deepen the regional perspective on the topic and create a network that helps strengthen the implementation of GCED in the context of the Latin America and the Caribbean region. This document summarizes the main topics addressed and issues discussed at the meeting. Subsequently, the founding document of the Regional Global Citizenship Education Network for Latin America and the Caribbean, which was elaborated in light of the meeting’s discussions, is presented.
