Ministry of Education This summary report flows from the policy outlined in Ontario’s Strategy for K–12 International Education (OME, 2015). The report highlights current knowledge about good and/or promising practices in global education1 in order to suggest practical strategies for improved teaching, learning, and achievement. The intended audience for this piece includes all education stakeholders – community members, parents, learners, system leaders, school leaders, and educators – as active agents of change in support of an education strategy designed to integrate global perspectives, cultures, and experiences in the curriculum and learning environment. The purpose is to enable students to develop the competencies they will need to thrive as citizens in an increasingly globalized world.The discussion is organized by theme. To underline why global education is critically important for Ontario learners, we begin by outlining the significant contributions global education can make to the well-being of individuals and society as a whole. We then provide an overview synthesizing different conceptualizations of “global education” and “global citizenship education”, as well as a broad range of their overlapping sub-concepts. Next, through a review of the international literature on the subject, we present a series of challenges and opportunities for implementing global education, and list pertinent examples of good practices associated with delivering global education. A further section focuses on good practice in building system capacity and leadership for effective global education. We conclude by identifying key messages and lessons learned.

It only uses the available information in the UN SDG Global Database and the sources referenced there to illustrate a selected number of SDG issues. In a very few cases, when no data is available from this database and associated sources, information from other international organizations is used to provide some context to the discussions. 
Are We There Yet?: Education Unions Assess the Bumpy Road to Inclusive Education 발행 연도: 2018 단체 저자: Education International (EI) | Tania Principe This report is based on a global membership survey that Education International conducted in 2017-18. The report shows that while many countries have integrated the UN Conventions into their national laws, implementation is running far behind. School materials and facilities are often not accessible, teachers are not adequality supported or consulted, and there are too few education support personnel. In addition, public services are not consistently made available for families with children and youth with disabilities, which can be a major barrier to school attendance. The survey results are a wake-up call for governments to take action and show that a thorough rethinking of past policy-making and current implementation is urgently needed.

“Nobody Has Ever Asked About Young People’s Opinions”: Young People’s Perspectives on Identity, Exclusion and the Prospects for a Peaceful Future in Central Asia 발행 연도: 2012 단체 저자: Saferworld This report offers a number of recommendations for the governments of Central Asian countries, as well as for international donor organizations that provide financial assistance to these states. Recommendations include suggestions priorities and approaches related to institutional and state construction; proposals on creating favorable conditions for enhancing youth participation in political processes; suggestions on how to instill in young people the skills necessary to participate in democratic processes; how to strengthen social unity through building intercommunal dialogue and intergenerational dialogue; as well as how to fight extremism.
