Ces sites sont si précieux pour l’humanité que leur conservation nous incombe à tous. Pourtant, nombre de ces lieux exceptionnels sont confrontés à la pression croissante qu’exercent les divers types de développement et des projets dans et autour des sites. L’évaluation des impacts de ces projets – avant toute décision de mise en œuvre – est essentielle pour éviter tout dommage causé au patrimoine mondial et identifier des choix durables.Le Guide et boîte à outils pour les évaluations d’impact dans un contexte de patrimoine mondial est la référence incontournable qui explique la démarche à suivre pour atteindre cet objectif. Grâce à des conseils et outils (dont des listes de contrôle et glossaire), il fournit un cadre permettant de réaliser des évaluations d’impact pour les sites du patrimoine culturel et naturel.Élaboré par l’UNESCO et les Organisations consultatives du Comité du patrimoine mondial – l’ICCROM, l’ICOMOS et l’UICN –, ce manuel constitue une base de collaboration intersectorielle et multidisciplinaire en vue de trouver des réponses permettant de protéger les sites du patrimoine mondial et de soutenir un développement qualitatif et approprié. Les États parties, les gestionnaires du patrimoine, les décideurs, les planificateurs et les aménageurs de la Convention du patrimoine mondial sont invités à l’utiliser pour contribuer à la réalisation de notre engagement collectif : la transmission de notre patrimoine inestimable aux générations futures. 
Strengthening Independent Media, One Case at a Time: A Handbook for Media Vability; Preview of a Forthcoming IPDC Knowledge Resource 발행 연도: 2021 단체 저자: UNESCO “Strengthening Independent Media, One Case at a Time: A Handbook for Media Viability” will include case studies of innovative ideas from a wide variety of news media companies, mostly in the developing world, that are succeeding in difficult times and have lessons to share with others who are struggling. The handbook project was announced during the 65th meeting of the Bureau of the Intergovernmental Council of the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC).This brochure includes highlights of some of the cases to be included, from community media in South Africa to a pure-play digital success in Indonesia, to a fact-checking network in Brazil to a covid response in Pakistan, and much more. The Handbook will be published in September 2021 and will be available for free on the website of the IPDC.

It documents the rapid societal transformation under way, which offers new opportunities for social and economic experimentation but also risks exacerbating social inequalities, unless safeguards are put in place.The report concludes that countries will need to invest more in research and innovation, if they are to succeed in their dual digital and green transition. More than 30 countries have already raised their research spending since 2014, in line with their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. Despite this progress, eight out of ten countries still devote less than 1% of GDP to research, perpetuating their dependence on foreign technologies.

The particu- lar focus is on the role of its Accessible Reading Materials (ARM) initiative and how this has contributed to ensuring disability-inclusive and accessible education during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh. ARM is a government-led initiative that was launched in 2014 by the then Access to Information (a2i) programme of the Prime Minister’s Office, now the Aspire to Innovate Programme of the Information and Communica- tion Technology (ICT) Division of the Government of Bangladesh. It was launched in recognition of the need for solutions to ensure virtual, as well as regular reading access for all students, including children and young people with barriers to reading. ARM is aimed at satisfying the educational needs of all students including students with print and learning disabilities.

In 2013, the number of children who are not in school, who have dropped out, and who have never been to school have risen to 124 million after seeing the numbers continuously drop for much of the first decade of the 21st century. In much of Southeast Asia, close to seven million children of both primary and lower secondary school-age find themselves in the same situation. In an effort to assist the countries in Southeast Asia to develop more robust policies and programmes for OOSC in their respective countries, this report was commissioned to map out the current legislations, policies, characteristics, and interventions on out-of-school children in nine countries across the region, which include Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Using a desk review of available and relevant secondary data, the study covered OOSC of primary and lower secondary school-age. However, they do not always live up to these ideals, which creates challenges for the users of these services. Content providers of all types open up new opportunities for lifelong learning. But at the same time, they open up challenges such as misinformation and disinformation, hate speech, and infringement of online privacy, among others.Media and information literacy is a set of competencies that help people to maximize advantages and minimize harms. Media and information literacy covers competencies that enable people to critically and use of digital technologies. Capacities in these areas are indispensable for all citizens regardless of their ages or backgrounds.This pioneering curriculum presents a comprehensive competency framework of media and information pedagogical suggestions. It features various detailed modules covering the range of competencies needed to navigate today’s communications ecosystem. This resource links media and education, education for sustainable development, cultural literacy and the exponential information literacy curriculum, everyone can become media and information literate as well as peer-educators of media and information literacy.

Mais dans le même temps, ils ouvrent aussi la porte aux problèmes que sont la mésinformation, la désinformation, les discours de haine et la violation de la confidentialité en ligne, entre autres.L’éducation aux médias et à l’information est un ensemble de compétences qui permet d’optimiser les avantages et de minimiser les préjudices. L’éducation aux médias et à l’information couvre les compétences qui permettent à chacun d’interagir de façon critique et efficace avec le contenu des communications, les institutions qui fournissent ce contenu et les technologies numériques. Les capacités dans ces domaines sont indispensables pour tout citoyen, quel que soit son âge ou son origine.Ce programme novateur présente un cadre de compétences complet en matière d’éducation aux médias et à l’information, ainsi que des suggestions pédagogiques structurées pour les éducateurs et les apprenants. Il se compose de plusieurs modules détaillés couvrant l’éventail des compétences nécessaires pour évoluer dans l’écosystème des communications d’aujourd’hui. Cette ressource relie l’éducation aux médias et à l’information à des questions émergentes telles que l’intelligence artificielle, l’éducation à la citoyenneté numérique, l’éducation en vue du développement durable, l’éducation culturelle et l’augmentation exponentielle de la mésinformation et de la désinformation.
