Economic and social disparities create a complex network in the region. Despite progress, access remains an obstacle for many. During its 75-year history, the OEI has been working to break down the barriers that hinder equitable education for all. Two questionnaires were chosen to develop a descriptive non-experimental quantitative research. The main results reveal that extracurricular activities are not part of the usual conversations between families and teachers. However, acceptable but improvable aspects are detected, such as delving into discipline issues, and student learning, etc. On the other hand, it is evident that the parents still do not go to visit the teachers on their own initiative to address the relevant elements of the teaching-learning process of their children.  Docencia y familias migrantes: comunicación acuciante (Revista Ibero-americana de Educação; vol. 89, núm. 1) Год публикации: 2022 Автор: Mohamed Chamseddine Habib Allah Организация-автор: Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos (OEI) Este artículo presenta los resultados de un estudio cuyo objetivo es analizar el estado de comunicación entre las familias migrantes y los docentes en Centros Educativos de Educación Infantil y Primaria de la Región de Murcia. Se optó por dos cuestionarios homólogos para desarrollar una investigación de carácter cuantitativo no experimental de corte descriptivo. De los principales resultados se revela que las actividades extraescolares no forman parte de las conversaciones habituales entre las familias y el profesorado. Sin embargo, se detectan aspectos aceptables pero mejorables, como profundizar en los temas de disciplina, y el aprendizaje del alumnado, etc. Por otro lado, se evidencia que los progenitores siguen sin acudir a visitar a los docentes por iniciativa propia para abordar los elementos relevantes del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de sus hijos e hijas.  Sharing Malaysian experience in participation of girls in STEM education Год публикации: 2016 Организация-автор: UNESCO International Bureau of Education (IBE) The Malaysia government has placed STEM as a focus in developing the country towards achieving the status of a developed nation. The government acknowledges the role of women as equal partners in nation building. Thus, various policies ranging from economy, education, women’s welfare and human resources have been formulated through the years. These policies have resulted in among others, the increase in women researchers from 35.8% in 2004 to 49.9% in 2012 as well as more women’s participation in selected STEM courses at the tertiary level. A total of 84 girls’ day schools with 6 of them as residential STEM Girls’ schools have been built since 1939. There are many female role models in STEM for the girls to emulate. This has been made possible by the successful implementation of the various policies related to women in STEM as well as innovative measures in facing the continuing challenges in STEM education. The author suggests that teachers play a key role in providing education that is inclusive for all. In Latin America, today, however, inclusive education often does not respond to the needs of children and young people, and teachers often finish their professional training without acquiring the skills they need to work with children and young people living in difficult circumstances. Teachers also need incentives to work in remote or difficult geographical areas, and they benefit from national efforts to improve their status, including awards for innovative work. Much remains to be done, but the training of teachers for a more inclusive education system is gradually being incorporated as part of the educational policy agenda in Latin America. Les enseignants ont également besoin d'incitations à travailler dans des zones géographiques éloignées ou difficiles, et ils bénéficient des efforts nationaux pour améliorer leur statut, y compris des prix pour des travaux novateurs.
