Global Media and Information Literacy Assessment Framework: Country Readiness and Competencies Год публикации: 2013 Организация-автор: UNESCO The MIL Assessment Framework can foster lifelong learning initiatives by building on the relationship between information, media, digital, and ICT literacies, along with societal transformations, education, workforce, policy and decision making processes, economic growth and democracy. The overall goal of the publication is to guide UNESCO’s Member States throughout the assessment of country readiness and competencies regarding the media and information literacy of citizens, in particular teachers in service and in training. The document is particularly aimed at the following stakeholders: policy makers and decision makers; national officers responsible for statistical data collection and analysis; educational policy makers and planners working in formal and informal education settings; teacher training institutions and teachers. It is also of relevance to the professional information and communication community, and has wide applicability for civil society at large.

It upholds our work in relation to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals – in particular Goals 5, 10 and 16. A number of high-level recommendations are included to guide advocacy. EIU Best Practices Series No.37: Early Childhood and Elementary Education for Indigenous Learners Programme Год публикации: 2014 Организация-автор: APCEIU This monograph is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No.37 introduces the Early Childhood and Elementary Education (ECEE) for Indigenous Learners Programme initiated in the Philippines. The indigenous peoples (IP) reside in the mountainous regions, away from basic social services and struggling with poverty, malnutrition, and lack of proper education. The aim of ECEE is to facilitate access to quality and culturally-relevant early childhood and elementary education for the Higaonon indigenous children. To achieve this, activities such as curriculum indigenization and teacher training are provided in collaboration with the community members. As the program creates learning process for all through openness, sharing, and collaboration, this is an exemplary case of EIU/GCED pedagogical approach.

A joint initiative from the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), Education Cannot Wait (ECW) and the UN Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI), the EiE-GenKit is a core resource package for gender in education in emergencies. The EiE-GenKit is the first resource of its kind, providing education practitioners with practical tools to promote gender-responsive programming from crisis to peace and sustainable development.The EiE-GenKit is based on extensive research and consultation with the latest resources, evidence, new tools and good practice available in one easy-to-use package. The EiE-GenKit builds on existing humanitarian processes for a streamlined approach to gender-responsive EiE. The EiE-GenKit offers tools for practical and immediate use including checklists, tipsheets and assessment templates supporting practitioners to ensure that each phase of an EiE intervention is gender-responsive. Bridging the gap between what we know about gender-responsive EiE and the tools we need to make it happen, the EiE-GenKit aims to promote improved gender and education outcomes of learners living in crises.

This report also looks to the future by recommending immediate and sustained actions to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all—including children and young people in crisis-affected contexts (UN, 2015).
