Evaluating the Sustainable Development Goals with a “No one left behind” lens through equity-focused and gender-responsive evaluation Год публикации: 2016 Автор: Michael Bamberger | Marco Segone | Florencia Tateossian The purpose of this publication is to provide guidance on how to integrate an equity-focused and gender-responsive (EFGR) approach to national evaluation systems that should inform national Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) reviews. This guidance is intended to support national evaluation systems on how to integrate EFGR evaluations to inform the national reviews of SDGs. The guidance is expected to primarily serve national evaluation systems, the UN system, multilateral and bilateral development agencies, academic institutions, including specialized research centres and think tanks, private foundations, the private sector, and voluntary organizations of professional evaluators. For every child, a fair chance: The promise of equity Год публикации: 2015 Организация-автор: United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) This report is based on an in-depth paper that was the centrepiece of discussions at the UNICEF Executive Board’s Special Session on Equity held in New York, in June 2015.The principle of equity guides UNICEF’s work with a sharp focus on the world’s most vulnerable children: those from the poorest households, girls, children with disabilities, migrant and refugee children, those living in remote areas, and children from ethnic or religious groups facing discrimination. The following pages build on evidence and experience from this work to make two main arguments for closing persistent gaps in equity. It examines seven sectors that are critical to progress for children: health; HIV and AIDS; water, sanitation and hygiene; nutrition; education; child protection; and social inclusion. In each sector, there are stark contrasts between global advances on one hand and the urgent, unmet needs of the world’s most vulnerable children on the other. COVID-19 and Human Rights: We Are All in This Together Год публикации: 2020 Организация-автор: United Nations (UN) Human rights are key in shaping the pandemic response, both for the public health emergency and the broader impact on people’s lives and livelihoods. Human rights put people centre-stage. Responses that are shaped by and respect human rights result in better outcomes in beating the pandemic, ensuring healthcare for everyone and preserving human dignity. But they also focus our attention on who is suffering most, why, and what can be done about it. They prepare the ground now for emerging from this crisis with more equitable and sustainable societies, development and peace.This paper aims to translate this Call into concrete action to assist with the response to the pandemic. It presents six key messages that must be central to an effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report calls on global, national and regional stakeholders to expand opportunities for girls and young women to be the changemakers and designers of the solutions to their challenges and opportunities; invest in the skills development of adolescent girls so they can compete in today's labour market; improve girls' health and nutrition; and end violence in all its forms against them.

Psychosocial Support through Education in Emergencies Год публикации: 2019 Организация-автор: Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) This module outlines 3 hours (180 minutes) of training activities and materials related to psychosocial support (PSS) and social and emotional learning (SEL) in emergency contexts. It includes supplementary activities to further understanding of PSS-SEL concepts, for an extended duration of 5 hours (270 minutes). This Facilitator Guide provides the materials, facilitator notes (including main ideas and activity instructions), and a suggested script for the accompanying presentation. Facilitators are encouraged to first review the Instructions prior to training, which provides guidance for contextualization of the training resources.
