Inspired by the UN Secretary-General’s 2014 call for countries to embrace ‘a culture of shared responsibility’ based on ‘benchmarking for progress’, paragraph 28 of the Education 2030 Framework for Action also called on countries to establish ‘appropriate intermediate benchmarks for addressing the accountability deficit associated with longer-term targets’. This report outlines the steps taken by countries to set these commitments for 2025 and 2030 against seven indicators and is timed to feed into the second review of SDG 4 at the High-level Political Forum. The SDG 4 benchmark values now defined for almost nine in ten countries lay out their nationally determined contributions to the common education goal, using a concept embraced by the climate change sector. Twelve countries’ experiences of approaching the challenge of setting benchmarks based on their education sector plans are included, serving as inspiration for other countries to reflect on their own contributions and the task of developing appropriate policy responses in line with their own ambitions for the next decade, especially in the context of recovery from COVID-19.This publication proposes a way forward for monitoring progress towards the national SDG 4 benchmarks. This way of monitoring will be context-specific, recognizing countries’ starting points, helping link their national with regional and global education agendas. The benchmarks could be a basis for a compact in which countries commit to increasing their ambition, and, in return, the international community offers a program of support. In other words, a system of political accountability associated to political commitments with a support mechanism to accomplish the task.  International Conference on Global Citizenship Education and International Solidarity Association québécoise des organismes de coopération internationale (AQOCI) This material aims to share practices and reflections on education for global and solidarity citizenship. How does it manifest itself, concretely, in our environment, in our life habits? The library ecosystem is increasingly giving way to the precepts of sustainable development, by its civic nature and its mission to share knowledge, but also by its inspirational nature and with new ideas. In Québec and internationally, various green library projects that are focused on the needs and development of the communities they serve are plentiful and distinctive, giving rise to a new discourse that harmoniously interweaves existing considerations and imperatives without compromising the needs of future generations. The following article summarises the principal components of a project undertaken during a summer course taught by Réjean Savard, namely SCI6372 – Aspects internationaux et comparés de l’information. It is the result of a field trip organised by the École de bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l’information (EBSI) in Germany, Prague and Strasbourg during the summer of 2016. It provides an overview of the initiatives of some libraries around the world, and invites us to reflect on the role of the green library. A Brief History of Currents and Debates in the Field of Ethnic Studies in Education in the Quebec Society (Cahiers de recherche sociologique; no. 64) Год публикации: 2018 Автор: Maryse Potvin Организация-автор: Athéna éditions The issues of pluralism, equity and inclusion are among the top priorities of the 21st century for education systems. These issues have given rise, in Quebec as elsewhere, to a specific field of public policies and interventions, debates and research for 50 years. This article traces the relatively "successive" appearance of currents - multicultural or intercultural, anti-racist, civic and rights-based, inclusive, still present in the sociology of education today - and shows how they marked (and predominated in) the normative discourses and the field of ethnic studies in education in Quebec during three different periods : the years 1970-1980, 1990-2000, 2010 to the present day. This article outlines the main "currents of ideas" and debates in this field of education during these three periods, and situates these debates in their links, both with the main social issues or significant events in the Quebec context and with the evolution of public policies in this field.
