UNESCO-UNEVOC regional forum: advancing TVET for youth employability and sustainable development, Latin America and the Caribbean, 27-28 August 2013, San José, Costa Rica; meeting report Год публикации: 2013 Организация-автор: UNESCO International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (UNEVOC) The Regional Forum of UNEVOC centres in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) presented in this report was one of a series of activities aiming to strengthen global and regional harmonization for the advancement of TVET transformation through the capacities of UNEVOC’s unique global network of specialized TVET institutions and affiliated partners, following the UNESCO Third International Congress on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) that took place in China in May 2012. The Forum also provided the opportunity to present evidence on the two priority thematic areas for UNESCO-UNEVOC for 2013, Youth and Skills and Greening TVET. This was achieved through the presentation and discussion of several promising practices in these two areas.

Second, it is specifically designed for integration into the formal teacher education system.UNESCO believes that, ultimately, this curriculum will contribute to innovation and improvement in all levels of education. Ce programme d’éducation aux médias et à l’information pour les enseignants est une ressource importante pour les États membres de l’UNESCO et une publication expérimentale. Elle est prospective et s’efforce de réaliser la convergence de la radio, la télévision, l’Internet, les journaux, les livres, les archives numériques et les bibliothèques sur une même plate-forme. Elle est aussi spécialement conçue pour permettre l’intégration de ce programme dans le système formel de formation des enseignants. L’UNESCO croit que ce programme sera une étape importante d’innovation et de progrès pour tous les niveaux d’éducation. 
EIU Best Practices Series No. 47: Building Zones of Peace: Peace Education Programme; A Case from Costa Rica Год публикации: 2018 Организация-автор: APCEIU Building Zones of Peace (BZP) is a non-formal peace and global citizen education programme created to promote peace and prevent violence in vulnerable urban communities in Costa Rica. The programme aims to encourage participants to develop a critical view of their contexts and explore different ways of taking action to transform the world we live in, and by recognizing how individual and collective efforts have a positive and direct impact in our personal, family and community spheres as well as nationally and globally.In 2017, BZP was conducted to a group of secondary education students ages 13 to 17. This year (2018), participants are young women, ages 18 to 22, all of the mothers who live in extreme poverty. These women have been selected by a governmental office whose aim is to reduce poverty by empowering them. Several resources and networks of support have been created in different areas such as health, employment, childcare and education to achieve this goal. In this sense, our programme was chosen to contribute significantly in this process.

To illustrate indigenous marginalization and exclusion as well as the development of intercultural bilingual education (IBE) six countries have been chosen: Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru. 
Alternative bilingual Miskito-Spanish intercultural literacy education linked to the exercise of citizenship and community production Год публикации: 2008 Организация-автор: Regional Literacy and CONFINTEA VI Preparatory Conference in Latin America and the Caribbean: From Literacy to Lifelong Learning: Towards the Challenges of the 21st Century, Mexico City, 2008 The Alternative Bilingual Intercultural Literacy Education project is carried out in five rural indigenous communities and eleven urban neighbourhoods of Bilwi (Puerto Cabezas) in the North Atlantic Autonomous Region (RAAN) of Nicaragua. In this region, illiteracy is the result of poverty, historical social exclusion and the lack of any official or State programme of adult literacy education in the Miskito language. This constitutes a negation of the right to bilingual intercultural education of the young and adult indigenous population and an obstacle to individual, social and regional development. The project provides literacy classes for young people and adults in their mother tongue Miskito and in Spanish, and deals with intercultural themes of their world view, the environment and indigenous rights. In Nicaragua, this experiment is a unique and alternative model of literacy provision in Miskito, with a Miskito-Spanish bilingual intercultural curriculum of its own. The texts have been produced by authors from the Miskito ethnic group, with contents determined on the basis of a needs analysis and the identification of fundamental features of the Miskito world view. The selection of countries was based on: i) work showcased at the 2009 World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development held in Bonn, Germany; ii) submissions to the monitoring and evaluation process for the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD); as well as iii) through evaluation material submitted by UNESCO staff in regional bureaux of education. The countries showcased in this report are not necessarily the ‘best’ examples of the region, as many other countries are also progressing effectively towards implementing ESD. Rather, the countries selected illustrate the wide diversity of ESD approaches and initiatives taking place in different parts of the learnt world. The national studies were then edited and harmonized before common themes and lessons learned were identified to support other national efforts in moving towards the second half of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
