Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect This paper is part of a collection of discussion papers, commissioned and produced by UNESCO and the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide (OSAPG).The papers are a direct contribution to the United Nations Strategy and Plan of Action and are published in the context of the Multistakeholder Forum and Ministerial Conference on Addressing Hate Speech through Education in September and October 2021.The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the pertinence of the United Nations Strategy and Plan of Action, generating a wave of hate speech across the world –further exacerbating intolerance and discrimination towards particular groups and destabilizing societies and political systems. The discussion papers seek to unpack key issues related to this global challenge and propose possible responses and recommendations. Textbooks for Sustainable Development: A Guide to Embedding Год публикации: 2017 Организация-автор: UNESCO | Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) This guidebook introduces the approach of embedding education for sustainable development into core subjects, building on the German initiative as well as consolidating other existing efforts. This ambitious work began when the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), with support from Engagement Global gGmbH, brought together 30 international experts in mathematics, sciences, languages, geography and education for sustainable development in Bangalore, India, in June 2016. These experts co-drafted this guidebook. This publication is designed as a guide for stakeholders in textbook development – education ministries, national curriculum authorities, textbook writers and publishers – to help them produce a new generation of textbooks. Such textbooks will make a clear departure from the mechanistic transmission of information and procedural knowledge devoid of meaning and contextual relevance. They will also advocate a new vision of learning and contribute to fostering young people’s competencies and capabilities to shape more peaceful and sustainable societies. Competencies such as critical and systemic thinking, appreciation of diversity, empathy and commitment to change are the key goals of this ambitious publication. Бангалор, Индия, 30 международных экспертов по математике, естественным наукам, языкам, географии и образованию для устойчивого развития. Эти эксперты участвовали в разработке данного руководства.Данная публикация разработана в качестве руководства для заинтересованных сторон – министерств образования, органов, разрабатывающих государственные образовательные стандарты и учебные планы, авторов и издателей учебников в помощь и поддержку в создании ими учебных материалов нового поколения. Такие учебники станут очевидным отступлением от механической передачи информации и методических знаний, лишенных смысла и контекстуальной значимости. The Implications of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Fundamental Rights and Civic Space Год публикации: 2022 Автор: Filip Pazderski | Giada Negri | Chayma Khazzani | Ivana Rosenzweigova | Boglarka Szalma | Luben Panov | Carlotta Besozzi Организация-автор: European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) This report was compiled for the European Economic and Social Committee at the request of the Diversity Europe Group by a consortium of four partners - European Civic Forum, Civil Society Europe, European Center for Not-for-Profit Law and the Institute of Public Affairs. It examines how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the work of civil society organisations (CSOs) across Europe. It also focuses on how solutions implemented in individual EU Member States have impacted CSOs' ability to exercise their fundamental rights and freedoms.The report is based on in-depth analysis of existing studies and reports, a survey, 29 expert interviews and three focus groups. It showcases a number of ways in which the pandemic has affected the functioning of civil society organisations in the EU. The observations emerging from the different stages of the research were characterised by a high degree of consistency, validating the picture depicted.

لتوصية الخاصة بأخلاقيات الذكاء الاصطناعي Год публикации: 2022 Организация-автор: UNESCO تتناول هذه التوصية ما يندرج في نطاق مهمة اليونسكو من القضايا األخالقية المتعلقة بمجال الذكاء االصطناعي. ً ً معياريا وتبحث التوصية أخالقيات الذكاء االصطناعي بحثا ً يقوم على إطار كلي شامل ومتعدد الثقافات ومتغير منهجيا ِلقيم ومبادئ وإجراءات مترابطة يمكن أن ترشد المجتمعات فيما يخص التصدي بطريقة مسؤولة للعواقب المعروفة وغير المعروفة لوسائل تكنولوجيا الذكاء االصطناعي على البشر والمجتمعات البشرية، وكذلك على البيئة والنُظم اإليكولوجية؛ وترسي التوصية بالتالي األسس الالزمة التي يستطيع البشر االستناد إليها للحكم على وسائل تكنولوجيا الذكاء االصطناعي وقبولها أو رفضها. وتعتبر ً مرنة للتقييم المعياري والتوجيه ُسسا التوصية األخالقيات أ المعياري لوسائل تكنولوجيا الذكاء االصطناعي، وتستند إلى وجوب صون كرامة اإلنسان ووجوب ضمان السالمة والرفاهية ووجوب درء الضرر باعتبارها البوصلة التي يجب االسترشاد بها، وباعتبارها مبادئ راسخة في أخالقيات العلوم والتكنولوجيا. 
Guidelines for Implementing SEL in Schools Год публикации: 2022 Организация-автор: Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) Schools that promote SEL help in their students’ academic and global learning. It enables learners to live peacefully with others in heterogeneous societies and build ‘tolerance’ and ethics in behaviour in terms of universal human traits that go beyond social, cultural and gender differences. SEL cultivates children’s wellbeing, and because schools are mirrors or microcosms of our larger and dynamic societies, it is vital that personal and social learning be mainstreamed in schools. The purpose of these guidelines is to share the latest research with policymakers, school leaders, and teachers looking to integrate SEL into school practices and present scientific evidence on creating school environments and recommending practices that are key to building peaceful and sustainable societies. 
Leveraging Innovative Technology in Literacy and Education Programmes for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons Год публикации: 2022 Организация-автор: UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) The publication Leveraging innovative technology in literacy and education programmes for refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons brings together a selection of 21 case studies showcasing how ICTs can be integrated both innovatively and effectively into literacy and education programmes for refugees, migrants and IDPs. The case studies in this compilation demonstrate the potential of technology to support learners’ acquisition of literacy skills through arts-based learning, integrated literacy programmes, entrepreneurship training or in combination with tertiary education opportunities. They highlight the multitude of stakeholders that have come together across sectors to shape innovative responses that can make a real difference to learners’ lives. At the same time, the compilation shows the various modalities through which technology can be harnessed to deliver effective literacy and educational opportunities in diverse and challenging environments while recognizing and remaining sensitive to the needs of learners, be they refugees, IDPs or migrants.
